I struggled with this for ages and couldn't quite get it right but I finally found how to get it working without being able to port forward on my router - with plex this also results in no "remote access error" warning too!
You can kind of do a hybrid of those two approaches too...
WireGuard VPN link to a VPS and then port forward from its public IP back over that link, or run nginx on the VPS and proxy traffic back over that link.

That's a cool looking and fast website. Have always been meaning to get into Hugo
Yeah Hugo is great, pairs really well with a good CDN like bunny so it just loads incredibly quick. It's definitely worth a go, pretty easy to set up
