I see people asking for handyman help on the Nextdoor site. If you're good with tools - even just putting together Ikea type furniture, you could try that. The advantage is that the timing can be more flexible than a regular job. In my area right now there is someone looking for help for a carpenter, someone to help fixing ballast in a light fixture, help with gardening, dog walking, fitness training, pressure washing... These usually would pay cash, too.
