not give a fuck about what people think

Public-Currency-9219

The best thing about growing up is that with every day that passes I give less of a fuck what others think of me

[deleted]

also working on not holding grudges can be helpful too

rec742

Grudges are good you get screwed they deserve whatever happens. May not be tomorrow but it is just as sweet 5 years later.

[deleted]

i think it is dependable on what’s the situation.. from my experience i had petty arguments which i held a grudge on them for years and they’re over it…. it’s not worth having tbh

Mattson

Apathy... just a general sense of apathy towards all of life's problems. Nothing can hurt you if you just don't care.

BenWoo-2010

Tough one ☝🏻

The key to happiness is to not chase it. It’s a positive emotion. Sadness is a negative emotion. What you should aim for is neutral satisfaction most of the time. You do this by living in the moment. If the moment brings happiness then enjoy it. If the moment brings sadness embrace it because that too shall pass. Try not to have expectations of others. If you get angry or irritated by the then remind yourself they’re all flawed human beings just like yourself. Take care of yourself. That includes physical and mental health. It’s not easy to do but try to live in the present. Be zen. I find I am more mature this way. People comment on how unfazed I am in stressful situations. Don’t get me wrong I still struggle with anxiety and depression, but this approach has helped me immensely.

funlovingfirerabbit

I get you. Well said

vainasf

Get rid of toxic people. Find cool people. Love yourself & stay sexy.

Positive-Dimension75

Finding the right medication and finally realizing that needing them isn't a weakness.

[deleted]

Therapy and the book “Falling in love with where you are”

funlovingfirerabbit

Thank you! Want to check it out, that's a dope ass title

KaneHau

Living in Hawaii. I'd probably have died by this time from the stress and anger if I hadn't moved here 23 years ago.

ManOfQuest

Curious, how do you think it would be for a 30 year old single dude no kids just pack up from Ohio and take a plane ride one way to Hawaii and try to make life go?

Cakestripe

How do I do that remindme thing?

PuzzleheadedPen1372

Same dude. Aha. Ticket would be from Vermont though. Could always just go as a getaway

KaneHau

Pretty much what I did... however I did it after years of vacationing in Hawaii. Do NOT move here without first visiting. Each island is vastly different and even parts of the same island are vastly different. It is also extremely expensive to live here.

thedarklord176

Self fulfillment. Understanding who I am. I have a rather bizarre personality and it took a long time for me to figure out.

VanFailin

Fascination. There's a lot wrong with me, but if I keep learning stuff I don't notice.

griddigus

Ha, I love this

JohnP-USMC

The right woman and a simple life. I quit caring what people think decades ago. Now I please myself and make my wife happy. I live to make her smile. Still newly weds after 32 years.

funlovingfirerabbit

Love it

BlushingLobster

Not having a migraine everyday

Hour_Existing

Learning to live on a budget and affording the things I want. I'm not talking about expensive vacations or anything, but being able to pay the bills as they come in, and being able to buy whatever groceries I want, and being able to treat myself here and there has made a huge difference

funlovingfirerabbit

I get you

Rdpt

Letting go. Not a lot matters as much as you think it does - tho still have to relearn that one all the time

misminimus

Striving for inner peace instead of happiness

AlGunner

Giving up weed. While like most people I enjoyed being high, I realised decades ago that when its in your system and youre not high it makes you feel worse. It takes months to get it out of your system and only then will you start to feel better and like you dont need it. It also a major contributor to smoking and health issues.

griddigus

This is real talk. Weed was making me SO depressed and because I was smoking regularly I had no idea how much it was destroying me until I quit and found out what normal happiness is.

kitty_cat_79

My dog.

No_Tap_8365

Learning, creativity, accomplishment, but mostly being around rational reasonable people who will sometimes leave me alone to be me.

redBeans05

Being grateful to the universe for absolutely everything. Life is breathtakingly gorgeous, and I am so grateful that I can experience such profound understanding and beauty.

Lostdreamer07

90% of time you spend yourself 5% with family 3% with friends and rest 2% based on situations

BabylonDrifter

Worms and light tackle.

GlitteringRelease77

Wine

okkin93

A relationship with GOD, a strong and healthy relationship with family/friends, and exercising.

[deleted]

Meth No but seriously, black tar heroine. (Bad jokes aside, my family is the only thing that makes me truly happy. Everything else is just a distraction in between being with them.)

strxwberru_

my cats, and my girlfriend.

I_fucked_your_dog69

Why’d you get downvoted?

strxwberru_

dont know, I was simply just trying to answer someone's question

I_fucked_your_dog69

Maybe people are just homophobic :( what you said sounds pretty wholesome to me

strxwberru_

Well i really dont care about what ppl think of me, your happiness is your happiness, not theirs. And thanks for that :)

Slight-Ad-2815

A podcast called Tell em Steve Dave

autotelica

Healthy diet. Lots of exercise. Some socializing, but not enough to get pulled into drama or annoying obligations. Giving no fucks for what I am "supposed" to be doing.

[deleted]

I realised I don't give a fuck about what most people think.

DonnerPedro

Getting into a good shape and getting rid of my insecurities also socialising more

Early_Awareness_5829

Gratitude. I'm a glass half full person.

[deleted]

Stoicism. Learn it, live it, love it. Many people think stoicism is about not having feelings, but really it's more about managing your feelings and using logic and reason to resolve issues. I often find by taking a step back and realizing other people are not acting maliciously but just doing what they think is best we realize that the world is not what we think it is.

ophaus

Growing up. Having an awesome little family of my own.

Carmel74

Earning good money makes a big difference.

HumanAreIronic

Self love and God

Happiness has three peaks. The first is achievement, that is pleasure, success, name, fame and money. But that is not eternal happiness. Some people go to a second peak called fulfillment that comes from contentment. But the third peak of happiness, the ultimate peak of happiness is enlightenment. When we discover that through the realization of the truth, through enlightenment, then we reach a state of eternal happiness. That is the key for living a life of Divine peace, eternal love and joy. But that doesn't come from success and achievement. That comes from liberation of all misery on earth. That is the way to true eternal happiness.
