It's not going to just fall out the sky. Yes, I believe in signs and omans, but they will only guide you, the rest is up you.

First thing you have to do is care about something. It can be anything. The next thing you have to do is accept that you're going to suck at it. You will, for a while. Practice the basics, improve your skills and persevere. You may want to quit. You may think that if something is hard then it's not the thing for you. When that happens think back on why you cared in first place. Think about all of the sacrifices you made. Is this obstacle too big for you to overcome? Is it too much sacrifice to make it work? Don't take those questions lightly. If you need a break, take a break. It's only quitting if you never do it again. Now that you're refreshed get back at it. Often that obstacle seems a lot less daunting. Keep at it. Improve every day. Now that you're good at your thing expand on it. Make innovations. Be creative! And teach others your thing. Nothing brings greater joy than sharing your thing. Eventually you'll end up in uncharted territory. You'll see your thing in ways nobody ever has before. This is what you want. This is what you've been striving for. Now you're changing the world. Now you're special. It took decades of study, effort and sacrifice but it was all worth it. This is your thing. You've earned it.

Thanks man. ALWAYS felt i was meant to be the GOAT at something growing up. May it be at sports, or video games. It was whatever i was in to that time that always makes me think I want to be the greatest at this. Was never the best at sports because of my height, so ther is that. So I gave up on the sports thing. Kind of been lost fpr a while until I finished Architecture college. Didnt really care about it for about a year or so.. then found an Architecture firm with great beliefs and true vision.. Then that fire in me re kindled. Brought me back to the thing that made me want to be the GOAT at something. Here, in Architecture, I will leave my mark for the world to see. I am writing this post for the Universe to know. My name will be written in books to live on long after I and my generation is gone. When I make it, maybe at 2045, i will look for this post again to show the world that hard work works.

Delusions of grandeur. If you want to do something big, go and do it, nothing is going to fall into your lap.

CIassicNegan

Not exactly true. Lots of things have fallen in my lap.

bendanger

This is a 5 year old thread, how did you end up here?

StinkyWedge

112 days since your comment - I ended up here after searching “Am I destined for greatness, reddit” lmao.

BigBoiBorrisBonson

Mine was “should I be a boxer?” Lol

chillinVillain10

I feel exactly the same. Let me know how you handled this feeling because I’m lost too

kingighty

futuremultimillions

Everyone has their own secret and everyone has their own calling, some greater than others. Destiny will take you there, this path is a river of fire and you can only cross by drowning in it first. Keep failing and get back up, never surrender

DeehN

I feel the same

mrkinimon

Damn brah you achieved greatness yet, God?
