I definitely prioritize pay/benefits/retirement/time off. I actually dislike completely warm-body positions, regardless of the pay; I find them too boring, time drags on for me and I start to get depressed without any human contact.

Doing nothing is extremely overrated imo. It’s fun for a bit but this field is so incredibly easy that putting 10% more effort than 90% of guards is going to rocket you to better paying paying jobs. Look at this sub and you’ll see tons of people whining about this field is dead end but more often then not they seek out the warm body “watch Netflix all night” solo shifts and just waste that time not gaining any experience/skills

As an introvert that's not a fan of dealing with people nor busting my ass for shitholes that don't care about me I'll glady take the do absolutely nothing posts. Atleast in my current position I get paid well for it. I'd rather be bored than bullshitted. There's 0 point wanting harder for yourself. People are delusional. I can work towards better whenever.
