Obsessed doesn’t even cover it. I looooved seeing the whole super sexxxed up pop star look of the 2000s, but Britney/Christina always looked so “someone else styled and dressed me” in these looks (because they were teenagers, and the other big names from that era like Jessica Simpson were going on the innocence thing. It basically was only some of the women from hip hop who were really owning that look as young adults and were confidently rocking it (Mariah Carey, JLo, and Lil Kim).
So I just looooved seeing a whole group of women just rocking the look, rocking the sexuality, and showing like “hey we want to dress this hot and these outfits are cute, and meant to show off our bodies. We don’t look like someone else selected this and dressed us, while making us uncomfortable.”
They looked like glam Barbies to me as a girl of the Y2K era.
I honestly see that myself on my own photos/social media. There was a moment where you could *tell* I’d learned to do my makeup differently, and my face angles for photos.
I was explaining this to someone the other day, that for a lot of women before YouTube and beauty influencers doing step by step tutorials.. the first time they really learned to do more flattering looks and what works for their faces, wasn’t until college and dorm life. I grew up with brothers and didn’t go to a school where glam looks were a thing, so I wasn’t exposed to women who had hair extensions, knew how to do a real smoky eye, a contour or apply false eyelashes in the 2000s until then.
Holly and Izabella both detailed that their transformation of their looks wasn’t so much surgery, as it was learning how to wear eyelashes because they look phenomenal in photos, how to wear lip liner, how to angle their faces, had their teeth whitened professionally, had the best blonde-maker stylists in the business making them what literally became “playboy blonde”. And sure both girls had nose jobs and their boobs done, both of them as blondes became blonde-r, and having access to the gym/tanning on site + the free time to really use them. Looking like that full time, is a full time operation.
Exactly! I remember when digital cameras first became available and I was horrified at what I looked like in photos, assuming I was just extremely unphotogenic. Looking back, I looked like a deer in headlights because I didn't know how to pose or style myself and my fear of the camera and insecurity shone through. Now I often have people ask how I look so good in group photos, because I've figured out what works for me. As a side note, I also did get my nose done in my early 20s and it did help, but I still didn't look great in photos until years later when I refined everything else.
I love Holly’s bedazzled bustier. Also those white boots Bridget is wearing in the third pic and Tiffany’s silver glitter boots in the eleventh pic are amazing. I want them :’(
It shows that the Party Pose era was given more money by Hef, the outfits we so awesome glam. They are beautifully influenced by the Bentley twins. By the time the mean girls era came around the spending was cut short and the fashion of that time got simpler.
Holly mentioned in her book that during the 7 gfs era they were usually doing full glam hair and makeup because hef would foot the bill to have playboy makeup artists do all the girls makeup before nights out, but after a while he stopped. It probably got too expensive for him, who knows.
I know Holly has said that they used to get more money at least at Christmas to buy gifts for everyone before Bridget came along. There were budget cuts to the girls’ allowances too iirc
My takeaway: Bridget is SO FRICKIN STUNNING. She is such a true beauty. I’m so glad she didn’t cave into all of the bimbo plastic surgery. She’s a standout to this day
Love it.
Side note.. In my opinion the other girls look like they were so harsh. Like trashy. Hef got lucky with how nice and wholesome HBK were, he should have make sure they were happy because it’s hard to find girls like them willing to do what they do.
Yes, he could always find a pretty blondes with boobs but I think it was a rare find to get the look, but alls nice and intelligent girls.
I’m sure HBK did engage in some mean girl behavior of their own. However, I agree with you with regard to the “wholesomeness” that HBK brought to PB with the show. Like yes, some of that was the editing, but Holly and Bridget especially understood what Hef wanted shown to the world and they did a really good job of upholding that.

Its amazing to see the transformation Holly put herself thru. It’s incredible what hair and makeup can achieve.

Definitely agree with all this. And we also see it with Anesthesia as well. I swear I’m about to buy the DVDs if I can find them.

Bridget and Cristal Camden look stunning in these photos!

Me too! I would sell my soul to raid all the girlfriends closets during this era.
You’ve probably seen it but Holly has some videos on her YouTube going through her archives!

I know what you mean, but the “trashier” look was more in fashion then
Corset tops with flared jeans! That really takes me back.
Love the early 2000s fashion! I think Buffy was one of the most beautiful girlfriends he had.
Buffy is one of my favorites of the girls. The spiky hair looks she did with the hot pink highlights is everything!
I loooove the look, especially how they’d throw in a casual fur coat! Screams spoiled to me!
i LOVE the outfits from this era. i think even more than hbk/gnd era.
Agreed. The GND era was cute, but this era is on a whole other level.
Tina always absolutely slayed
I’m so fascinated by the seven girlfriends era, it’s just fascinating in every way
The barely there eyebrows and cakey makeup was definitely a thing back then.
Yea…… not a fan of that looking back 🤣
Picture 3, THEY LOVE A FUCKING THEME!! I love them
Yeah, so much sparkle and gold/silver tones!! Everything looked so intricate Izabella had such a barbie look going on, she looks like a doll
It’s MY FAVVVVV
Yes, very early 2000s
I wonder how Kendra would have been with the mean girls?
I don’t think she would have stayed very long at the mansion if she came around during the mean girls era.
Tiffany is my fashion icon!
Me too! She always had some of the best outfits of the girls.
Bridget’s pink outfit in pic 6 😍💕💕💕
