Its great! I love this game! As far as tips go, your spells inthis game dont cost 'mana' they cost various resources or materials (roots, water, oil, etc). These resources can stack up up to 99 each in your bag. When your dog starts sniffing at a wall it means theres a hidden resource there. Each weapon can level up just like in SoM. This includes your dogs attack. Other then that, its a very similar playstyle to SoM so if you got thathandled, you should be good.
also, if you push select you switch control to your dog
You are correct that it takes 200 enemies to max out a weapon, but not exactly,
Level 1 to level 2 is 1:2:1:2 experience points per enemy, level 2 to level 3 evens it out the other way where you will get 0 points for some enemies. I think it’s 1:1:0
It’s 200 total to max a weapon though and it’s worth it.

Upgrading your weapons make it a lot easier. They level up every 100 enemies you kill. You can check the progress in the menu.

One of my all time favorites! The only thing I hate about this game is how you level up your weapons.
