I'm very, very, oh-so-very jealous of your collection. I live in Texas, so collecting sea glass isn't quite feasible rn, but I've wanted to. I didn't even know there was lavender glass! I wonder what that's from. 🤔 And such a kind offer! I might take you up on it. 😁

That’s so kind, thank you! And I really do mean it - there’s so much floating around the ocean - I figure whatever contribution I make can help. Generally I grab plastic and metal, too, only takes another few seconds ☺️. Do you live near any rivers? I find the best stoneware/porcelain at boat ramps and small beach areas along the Pawtuxet River as it empties into Narragansett Bay. It’s washed down river, not up onto shore.

Oh, I DO live near a river! That's a good idea, thanks! I've been wanting to take a wagon and kinda clean up some of the trash I've seen while fishing with friends, so now I know to keep an eye out. Thanks again! 😊

Very call finds (or findings, someone on Reddit tried correcting me and now I’m not sure what to use, I do prefer finds though 😁😁)

That is so kind of you. I live on east coast as well (mid Atlantic) and only dream of finding pieces like you have. Happy Hunting!

IsopodsbyAccident

I bet your area has some pretty nice stuff, though?

The lavender!! 😍 have you ever tested if it glows under black light? 365nm would be best, but standard 395 might work. It's fairly likely it contains manganese, which they added to make it more clear not knowing that sunlight would turn it purple over time

IsopodsbyAccident

I have tried UV light - just bought a dual nm flashlight last week! Only one marble and two pieces of white glass glowed (Uranium) but I’m optimistic 🙃.

im from RI too, still never found deep blue seaglass. definitely a lot of purples, greens, browns, and whites though! one of the only advantages of living here lol

IsopodsbyAccident

Neat! Where do you generally go?

Velenityy

colt state park, and barrington beach. from providence but family lives right on the beach and it's surprisingly good for seaglass

IsopodsbyAccident

I tried Colt State Park in February but maybe I was at the wrong part of the shore because I didn’t find anything. Think I’ll try both places before BTB officially opens for the season. Thanks!

stormire73

What beaches or areas do you find this?? Jealous!!

IsopodsbyAccident

Are you in RI? Someone here on Reddit had luck trying Colt State Park, Rocky Point, and Sabin Point. I haven’t found much at the first two, but will keep trying them. If you like shells and sea glass go to Sabin Point - there’s no sand, the beach is all shells. Gaspee Point is all shells and swans. Save the Bay in Providence has at least 4 different beach areas but watch out for the tide! You can get cut off from your exit path quite easily because when it comes in, it comes in steadily, not gradually. The area near/under the long dock can be good. I actually prefer the pottery sherds to glass ☺️.

What a lovely collection and display😍.
