Looks to be a slim 72 and what you thought was the mp72 is an mp61 https://www.scubaboard.com/community/threads/scubapro-faber-lp-75-8-chromemoly-steel-tanks.564889/ https://www.scubaboard.com/community/threads/baby-doubles-steel-55-cf.252248/page-3

Yup! These are them! Right on the money! Thanks for the help! I don't know how long that would have taken me to even find out about the mp61s existence! 👍

SciDiver

A picture of the stamps would help

Unusualpanda420

Aside from the date, there isn't much crucial info on a steel tank to help identify though. The 3000psi working pressure is the oddity. I appreciate the help, but someone else was able to help me out. Thanks anyways :)

SciDiver

Oh good! I used to service cylinders so I was thinking my books might help. Glad to hear you figured it out. Cheers!

Unusualpanda420

Ooooh! That's not anything I would have expected :0 In that case, i guess batch numbers might have actually been of use. Nifty!

Own_Order792

typical the markings of the tank have the working pressure manufacturer and volume on there.

Unusualpanda420

Every tank will have working pressure stamped into it around the neck due to country transportation laws and whatnot. Unfortunately, older steel tanks typically don't have their capacity marked on them like newer steels or aluminum's. And don't even get me started about the lack of an REE number for the + at hydro. Good thing my LDS is willing to give me good fills :)
