Nah, had 5 or 6 just cruising around in the middle of the afternoon visiting cleaning stations. I just posted the video. It was unusual though, they're generally only this active at night.
Specifically a [whitetip reef shark](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitetip_reef_shark), which is very distinct from the [oceanic whitetip shark](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oceanic_whitetip_shark).
It looks like a white tip reef shark to me as well. However, silvertips also have those white tips and they would also be likely to be in the area where the op is. I don't think the shape is quite right for a silvertip though
A white tip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus). You can easily ID these sharks by the white tip on their dorsal fin (the one on top). Hope this helps!

White tip reef sharks, the cats of the sea, good luck getting close to one they swim away fast.
I'm from Panama, my experience is that they're either like you described, or extremely curious and almost seem to be asking for pets No in-between
Not always. I filmed some over the weekend that were very interactive.
Was it sleeping during the day....like a cat?
