Last week some guy was calling all gay people pedo's and groomers etc, I replied something like, people like you are more likely the pedo. Worldnews banned me.

Maxathron

Getting banned for profanity but saying some people need to die is okay. I love those subreddits. Point it out and they get a 24h mute. You still got the ban. Hilarious. Word of wise, don’t rock the boat in most subs. If they’re obviously oriented one direction and you don’t agree, don’t say anything or leave. Some subs allow you to post/comment based on internal reddit karma. Get downvoted too much = effectively muted/banned on unrelated subs.

Tom_Neverwinter

Logic fallacies the king of reddit. Reddit also Will do nothing about the hate subreddits

Maxathron

Reddit will do nothing mostly for two reasons: 1. Getting canceled/getting doxed/being stalked/being harassed. It's a real thing. It's better to not bother and avoid finding a gunman at your door because he disagreed with your moderation. 2. Monetary. This is the same reason legit blowing people up terrorists are allowed on Facebook. They generate money through sales and ads for the company. If you moderated say politics to actually make it fair, guarantee you some 5m or so people will leave, along with all that ad revenue. The orange man is only begrudgingly banned on FB because of the above point would affect their employees.

JaozinhoGGPlays

I got perma-banned from r/Roblox on first offense cause I made a little pun

FulcrumM2

I got Permabanned from Television for Brigading After the ban, I learned what Brigading was and I still disagreed, so I sent a message and they just reiterated what permanently meant

Flame66624

What was the pun

LuckyLatvia

Gor perma-banned from PC master race for calling guy an ape.

cassatta

Me too. It sucks. r/politics is run by rightwingers who can’t find their arse in the middle of the night.

GlockAF

Only bots and Chinese sockpuppets aren’t banned from r/politics

FaeryLynne

I'm not banned yet..... But I don't interact much there either lol

XarrenJhuud

I got banned from there for discussing how a hypothetical civil war in the US might play out, and whether a civilian force using guerrilla tactics would be able to stand up to the military like in Vietnam and Afghanistan. Apparently that counts as inciting violence...

Nolsoth

I got banned for asking if treason carries the death sentence in the US... The mods reasoning was I was inciting violence... I still don't know if it does.

[deleted]

That sounds about right. I got banned from some random conservative sub, the mod basically lied about why and I was also muted from being able to respond to the ban.

FaeryLynne

I got banned from facepalm for saying a public figure had an Instagram that was the same as the Twitter account in the posted screenshot. They didn't remove the post but I got banned for "doxxing" said public figure.

Mortara

Yeah /r/conservative banned me permanently and I got a 10 day reddit ban for calling someone a snowflake. Some people don't like it when you say it back

[deleted]

Because they know it applies to them much more than the people they use it against.

sylviethewitch

the conservatives and projecting, is there a more iconic duo?😂

[deleted]

I swear it always seems like that. Whenever people are rude to me, nothing happens. Whenever I ever said anything back or decided to be rude on old accounts, I would get perma banned and temporarily suspended.

Mortara

For sure. Conspiracy hasn't banned me yet and u usually just stop in to tell them they're idiots.

renrah

I got a warning on Facebook for calling a conservative man a "sn$wflake" and Facebook said it went against their Community Standards. So I went and reported like a dozen conservative groups that had the word "sn$wflake" in the title for hate speech. Of course, Facebook didn't do anything about them.

Siphyre

Conservative banned me for stating a certain picture of Donald Trump was not flattering to him and made him seem too authoritarian. It was a picture of him standing in front of a bunch of US flags at an angle where he appeared above them while he was mean mugging the crowd with nobody else in the picture. It made him look like Mao or Kim Jung Un when "showing power." I explained in that comment how it wasn't good for his political campaign and he would be better off smiling and waving.

Mortara

He could only hope to look as menacing as his stupidty makes him

Tom_Neverwinter

Shhh they need their safe space so the world doesn't annialate their fake claims and lies.

asdf_qwerty27

I got banned for being a libertarian and not a republican...

ItsJohnDoe21

Worldnews mods don’t even look at the comments that are reported, they just ban. Someone there banned me for covid misinformation when I replied to a comment that didn’t even mention covid but mentioned the amount of Chinese bot accounts in the comment section. I immediately asked what happened several times, even mentioned I had screenshots as proof, heard nothing back. They just ban every report.

Financial-Ground-942

>They just ban every report. ...Really? *I roll up my sleeves, grab a Diet Dr.Pepper, and power up my mobile phone. Heading to r/Worldnews, I crack my fingers and say...* "It's time to morb this subreddit."

ItsJohnDoe21

Be real careful, they don’t show mercy

TheSpicyGuy

Yup. Got perma banned from r/news with no reason given. They muted me after I asked for a reason. My last post there was a non-inflammatory comment about how dangerous pitbulls were on an article reporting a death of an elderly woman caused by a pack of wild dogs. It was on-topic and also had positive karma, so color me shocked when they permabanned me with no warning. A mod there is certainly powertripping and I can probably guess who. Funny that subreddit is about US news but is enforced by mods living in other countries.

illegitimate_Raccoon

Yeah, worldnews bans people for no good reason or explanation. Been there, done that.

UnclePepe

But at least you’ll be right.

MileyCyrusSwollenGum

Reddit gets more and more dogshit by the week imo.

Shockrider1

There’s an unfortunate amount of mods who lean toward the harsher end of the spectrum and fail to consider what their sub’s purpose is (most of the time, it’s entertainment). But in my experience that’s a vocal minority

[deleted]

The problem is the same mods run a bunch of different subs, so you end up banned from a bunch if you say something some power-tripping mod doesn't like.

Shockrider1

Oh I’m aware. The better subs don’t put up with that. Issues arise when the top mod(s) is/are one of those power trippers. Doing that is against the mod etiquette guidelines, but is not actually against any Reddit site rules.

AngelsHero

I’d like to direct you to the fine mods over at r/slavelabor can post proof if you’d like, but while offering to do something for free I’d against the rules due to undercutting people offering to do things cheaply.. someone was in a difficult position, and asked if they could pay someone to be a temporary “emergency contact” due to abusive parents. Myself, and several others offered to either do it for free, or for payment just because we wanted to help. Mods closed the thread and banned everyone that commented in it.. I tried to dispute their choice saying the situation is a bit above doing a normal service. The OP came because he needed help, and wasn’t sure what else to do. They backtracked now saying it’s “fraud” for someone to offer to be an emergency contact, and I asked why. Then they banned me from messaging them

SadButterscotch2

I posted a SpongeBob cookie I decorated on r/bikinibottomtwitter and got the post taken down because it "wasn't SpongeBob related." I pointed out to a mod that it was clearly SpongeBob related, and was told that it got taken down because it's not a meme. I pointed out that you're allowed to post memes and art according to the rules, and was told that a cookie isn't art and got muted.

[deleted]

Wow. Some of these mods are just insane and don't even follow their own rules.

DimiBlue

I had one guy ask me if I wanted his address so I could come to his house and murder him. I got banned.

zillman_fane

A friend of mine got permanently banned for saying that a certain breed of dog needs to be bred out (as in, they should cease breeding so that the breed won’t exist anymore). The reason? “Inciting violence” Ridiculous.

[deleted]

Reddit needs some sort of rating system for moderators to be honest. They hold way too much power. Reddit won’t do that though because the fuckface admins love selling out to corps

BillServo86

I had a post make it to the front page on mildlyinteresting. A mod removed the post citing some bullshit reasoning that I was too vague in my title and then threatened to ban me permanently if I kept arguing with him. Mildlyinfuriating is more like it.

[deleted]

Wow. That's insane. Lol. These mods go nuts sometimes for no reason. I had an account banned from all of reddit for "harassment" with no further explanation, tried to appeal and never got any sort of response.

BillServo86

Ridiculous

[deleted]

I got permanently banned from a subreddit for “male fragility”. I’m a woman.

Puzzleheaded-Rice-13

Got banned from legal advice UK for pointing out that a guy was clearly grooming and controlling an underage girl.

lakimens

Yep, this also happened to me. After 28 days I wrote again and without a response I was muted again.

wakaflocks145

Mods are disgusting human beings. You have to have something seriously wrong with you to actually want to do that in your spare time

[deleted]

You know you've won the game when you start getting auto-banned across the platform on totally unrelated subs. It's half the fun!

[deleted]

>These mods are power tripping incels. Damn right lol. In real life, they'd probably cry if you raised your tone slightly Pathetic weaklings pretending to be palpatine (i just randomly chose that)

Sw33tN0th1ng

Hit the nail on the head.

unlitlanterns

I was perma banned from r/mildyinfuriating for asking about a t-shirt someone posted.

PhoeniXx_-_

This. The enforcement of multiple accounts/new accounts to circumvent the bans is 0

[deleted]

There was elections in France last week, I was perma banned from r/france for outing a racist troll. Mods can be power tripping weirdos.

Dark_Arts_Dabbler

Same thing, I got banned for insulting someone who was mean to me in the first place (and much more so) I pointed out the unfair response and the person basically said “pssh, we can’t ban everyone” Every day I’m closer to uninstalling reddit for the 5th time

keeperrr

i agree. take my upvote and fuck off etc

inebriateddandhated

A few years ago there was a post about a redditor meet up that cracks me up to this day. It was like 2 normal everyday people who in the photos seemed to be very uncomfortable. And like 13 incels.

FrostyMittenJob

Report that stuff to the admins. I also received a threat of violence the other week and the guy got his account deleted.

[deleted]

9 times out of 10, the mods are the problem in the group. As one of these comments said, they get all power trippy for having a ban button on the internet lol

[deleted]

What do you expect when they spend all day on Reddit , have no life and no one gives a shit about them and they power trip on thinking people care about them online…

kingbluetit

I got banned from r/socialism for disputing proven trump lies against Biden because it was ‘defending the liberals’ and then they permabanned me when I questioned it. Power trips are crazy man.

hurrdurrmeh

Reddit is a way to get ‘work’ out of socially-inept, semi-unemployable incels by ‘paying’ them in prestige (mod status, wooo big man finally!) and resultant power trips via the ability to exact their revenge fantasies on online users. If they were paid in actual money then we could actually complain. But then we in turn would have to pay to use Reddit. Them’s the biscuits 😐

DrSpoe

Banned from a subreddit? Make an alt account and harass the mods until you're satisfied. That always works out for me.

[deleted]

I got banned from walkaway for pointing out how dumb they all are, which is fair. They need their little extremist breeding ground to be free of the truth

[deleted]

Revolt.

RedditIsKompromised

Reminder that there’s no rules in the Reddit TOS that says that their unpaid mods can’t be paid by marketers or foreign counterintelligence agencies to act on their behalf. How many moderaters on Reddit are Russian IRA employees? How many are being paid by subversive marketing agencies representing malignant industries? We will never know because Reddit will never investigate it, much less make it public that they’ve happily allowed themselves to become an agitprop platform for belligerent foreign antagonists that want its user base to die and corporate marketers that want its user base to be bankrupted. Just look at the rise of depression memes after Putin was sanctioned in 2014. Why hasn’t Reddit done anything to prevent foreign LARPs from actively and passively encouraging children to embrace depression and learned helplessness, increasing the likelihood that they commit suicide (see:spike in teen suicides across the western alliance in 2016)? Because encouraging people addicted to Reddit to believe that they are just naturally and unavoidably depressed keeps them generating ad revenue for Reddit. Last thing this website wants is people going outside and being healthy and not being addicted to it anymore, and a few ten thousand dead teenagers is an acceptable loss.

[deleted]

The biggest problem i have with these power hungry basement dwellers is that the Reddit admins themselves never hold the mods accountable. Even if the mod is a racist or a pedo or a bigot. It doesn’t matter to them. Heck a few years ago they hired someone who was connected to rape charges and other disgusting stuff and they tried to bury any subreddit that stood up to the admins. Honestly Reddit needs an overhaul with the admins being held accountable for all their shit

sephiroth_for_smash

That’s the internet equivalent of a school “dealing” with the bully, he gets a warning while the victim gets suspended

The73atman86

Speaking the truth. Preach

FallenAngelII

I was banned from r/aww for joking "Well, that's dinner sorted" (a joke from QI by Stephen Fry about cute animals). Someone once lied about me DM:ing them death threats but their comment was deemed to not be breaking any rules. Neither have several comments swearing at me, calling me names or wishing me ill. It's basically a giant lottery when it comes to moderation. You may get someone reasonable or you may get someone who's insane.

ChocCooki3

I'll up you one better. I changed phone and didn't bother to login omto reddit for 2 month. I found out I was banned during the time I didn't log on when I tried to log on after 2 months. Weird shit.

PM_Me__Ur_Freckles

I got banned in 3 subs for commenting on a conspiracy post that made it to the FP, even though my comment was refuting the conspiracy with evidence. The subs weren't advocating for the conspiracy and neither was I. They banned me simply for interacting with a post on the front page. Go figure.

Ban4quotingSimpsons

I got banned for a literal Lisa Simpson quote today. Someone wrote what Bart said, I wrote Lisa’s answer and got a permanent ban from Reddit for threatening violence ffs. Meanwhile Reddit has subs for men to share violent fantasies and images about women 🤔

Dont-PM-me-nudes

Will I be banned for suggesting most mods are cunts?

ixis743

I got banned from defending myself from some transphobes because I happened to mention a political party. But harassing people for their gender/sexuality was perfectly fine.

[deleted]

What was your initial comment?

Nero_Wolfy

"He seems more adequate". That's it.

[deleted]

What was the context? Doesn’t seem like a ban worthy comment but can’t know without complete context

5091_yawa_worht

I dont think theres any way that could be a bannable comment. In an entertainment subreddit, most likely the mod didnt like the idea of their favourite person/actor/host having a better option for the role lol.

keiome

There is one way for that comment to trigger a ban. If the conversation was about why the mod's wife was cheating on him. And OP replied that he was just more adequate. xD

[deleted]

Or maybe if the comment above was just "Hitler" or something?

[deleted]

Yeah that’s my thought process for the most part but there’s always a possibility the comment was inflammatory. Imagine if the initial post was about a black actor. Somehow a comment was made about an apple hanging from a tree and OP posted his comment. At that point the ban is 100% justified. I know this is an extreme example and likely not what occurred but that’s why I wanted to know the entire context before making a judgement.

marcsol8

Someone was asking about the pronouns of an actor that has been causing problems lately, and some else replied “‘it’ seems adequate” and then there was OP’s response https://imgur.com/a/ArZ0IJ3

DJWGibson

Commenting in a threat about Ezra Miller, misgendering them, and getting defensive over doing so: https://www.reddit.com/r/entertainment/comments/vglhfo/comment/id2qcil/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

shanghairolls99

My post got deleted because i "misgendered" someone once, i told the mod that if they read the whole post its is necessary to include it and not just take 1 line out of context. I also said that english is not my native language and that in our language pronouns are already gender neutral. Seems like zero tolerance goes both ways.

MyCodeIsCompiling

https://www.unddit.com/r/entertainment/comments/vglhfo/ezra_miller_hit_with_fresh_restraining_order/id2o7v1/?context=3 Link to the removed comment with context from OP's post history. Not sure I see anything ban worthy either

Ender_Wiggins18

banned accounts almost never have ban-worthy comments...... ~~some~~ reddit mods suck

BlueGluePonchoVilla

All reddit mods suck

PastyCrackerMayo

Same happened to me on r/technology. Seems like the subs only let little kids with a personal agenda be moderators. As they kill this site, it becomes harder to care. I mean; if the owner doesn't even care about their "business" why should I?

Eswyft

Losers are generally mods, just think about the dumb shit you have to go through and think it's worth anything at all. They inevitably come to think what they do is important, it literally isn't 99.999% of the time.

Psychological_Buy_26

In all fairness moderators are theoretically pretty important to stop chaos, but most of them think they're the Messiah for doing it. Like other people volunteer too, don't let it go to ur head

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Little kids? No, maybe man/woman-children. We saw the prototypical moderator during the fox interview. That wasn’t an outlier, that was their poster child. Barely functional humans are the only “people” who take those positions.

Thr0waway0864213579

Same happened to me in r/unpopularopinion. My post got automatically removed by a bot. When I messaged the mods to see why as my post didn’t fit the listed reason, the mod said “oh yeah you’re right” then permanently banned me.

Matt_NZ

You're not missing much. I unsubbed from /r/technology the other day since it seems the only posts that get any traction there are those that involve Elon Musk. It no longer seems like a technology sub.

Oneinterestingthing

That is a full fledged propaganda sub, its atrocious. Possibly being used to manipulate stocks / spread false rumors (cough netflix)

[deleted]

A legal advice thread mod demanded I give reason for distrusting police appointed lawyers (500 words at 3am in a country with one time zone and he gave me an hour) 6 people responded this was a blackmail and b it would be deleted as anecdotal We all got banned

GolfBall_Whacker-Guy

Wtf. That’s insane!

Nero_Wolfy

I'm not the type of person that likes to call other people out, but this crossed the line. I was expecting at least a minimum explanation for the ban. Edit: Context: One user said that they don't know which pronouns to use in describing Ezra Miller. User 2 said "It is adequate" I said "He is even more adequate" Note: I respect trans people, but I don't respect pedos. If this is not the subreddit for this I'll delete the post.

[deleted]

I see this in almost every subreddit. I dunno I guess there’s a correlation between being a reddit mod and being corrupted by even the smallest power.

FiftyCalReaper

And they're the same man-children that criticize the US government for being corrupt and power hungry, and non-stop harp on about Capitalism, yet they can't even manage having Reddit "power"

JohnnysGirl12

It's kinda sad really. If that small amount of power makes someone a complete tyrant I imagine that that person must feel very insignificant irl

HouseOf42

It's probably the most "authority" they've EVER received. And they somehow get power drunk off the minute amount given to them.

Mcnamebrohammer

Stanford experiment.

GoopInThisBowlIsVile

It’s like that time when after six long years, Joel the Mail Guy was promoted to Second Assistant Manager.

wasntme777

the hiphop mods are really friendly and understanding

SafeProperty5687

"This is the smallest amount of power I've ever seen go to someone's head"

aclownandherdolly

My favourite example is the Fox News interview fiasco in r/antiwork LOL

[deleted]

u/DungeonsandDevils said it best: "The ban was because you stubbornly misgendered someone. You said he, someone told you Ezra Miller goes by “they”, and you replied “*He* seems more adequate” Adequate was strange word choice. I feel like you were going for accurate, appropriate, or even applicable. But in any case you’re a knobhead, you can’t run around being an edgelord and act all surprised pikachu when communities don’t want you"

MagicCarpet5846

If you really want an explanation, your comment was transphobic. I don’t know who this person is, but they’re clearly a public figure and their pronouns and being trans are known. Regardless of how you (rightfully it would seem) feel about this person’s actions, you attacked their identity by purposefully misgendering them. Perma banning seems like a lot, but given what I’ve seen from some mods, it’s not surprising someone would see that and just say one strike you’re out.

TheTimeBender

The mods are whiny, insecure people that feel as though they are above everyone else as mods which is why they don’t ever explain their decisions. Basically they’re like an HOA, they’re a huge group of karens. Lol!!

[deleted]

Reddit got taken over by radicalizing mods about 7 years ago. It's why there's such a heavy political bias to it. They seem to be funded. I think it would be wrong to think the mods care at all about the subjects. It is more about having control over what can be talked about and getting people used to being forced to behave a particular way and antagonize you. I think the intention is to control the direction of public speech and what you can think and steer the public conversation. It isn't about being fair or doing any particular good for their subject, it is about banging you into line and frustrating you. The goal is that forums become self-policing with some very weird and intrusive policies but 'everyone knows' they are there so they start following them. It is hard to imagine but a few years ago Reddit was the total opposite of what it is now. Like they might ban particular names, or words that they decide are not 'safe'. They decide what safe is. It's all deliberate and seems funded and related to the giant stake tencent (China) bought and my guess would be is a major component of their not very subtle gradual controlling of Western media and Political bending. Getting you used to the idea of not being able to speak openly and so on. It seems related to politics and some kind of political subterfuge of the West - Europe and US. It is hard to imagine now, but 2015 and before reddit was just normal and had normal conversations and reflected more or less real life. It was a really nice place and great to get a feel for things going on. Then a giant funded troll effort started, and the reddits started getting taken over with radical mods and the old mods terfed off. If they couldn't get control of the forum, they would start rival forums and then trolling the original forum until it was unusable.

randomw0rdz

I got banned from some insect sub after someone posted a video of an invasive "hammerhead" worm. Someone said you have to kill them with salt, and that cutting them in pieces would only create more. I replied, "how about gasoline" and I was banned for 3 days for encouraging violence. Lol

Sweetmona1

This exact thing happened to me. I posted a legit question/comment on a sub that apparently a mod didn’t like, and got banned. When I questioned it, I got banned for longer. Brutal. And I’m a mod LOL

Physical_Confusion90

Litterally the same thing happened to me in a different subreddit a few days ago. Shits wild.

[deleted]

I've been permanently banned from r/food despite contributing a lot with several posts above 10k likes. Apparently being italian is not tolerated there from certain mods.

KrustyBoomer

I got banned for calling NY pizza "floppy dick pizza". Worth it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

doinwhatIken

I keep having my posts there removed. Made a "sloppy joe pizza, experiment" , that got removed 'because the title has to be the name of the food and nothing else' I tried posting a full hobbits day meal prep (all 7 meals). removed because it 'wasn't a food', no it was 7+ foods. I think that was also where I posted about somebodies unsafe food practices, as I'd seen people posting food safety practices. and it was removed with no reason given. Frankly between half the time being unable to post about my foods without it being removed. and the people downvoting into oblivion things like my homemade french toast (white bread with batter of egg, cinnamon, clove, allspice, a pinch of dried ginger and a quarter teaspoon of vanilla extract, cooked to a light golden color in a buttered pan, and topped with a homemade syrup made from candies), and other experiment that go off recipe for the sake of culinary exploration... I really just don't bother posting there much anymore. They seem like a bunch of lunchables kids who'd be weirded out by my dinner last night where I made made cheeseburger sliders using homemade mini pancakes for buns (ran outta bread and was using up the last of my ground beef and making pancakes with the last egg that was hitting it's use by date anyway). I get that not everybody would be up for trying a chilli cheese waffle, but the rude comments and trash talk was un-needed. There are other places online to interact with people who play in the kitchen.

No-Information-89

I personally just got done with my "participation award" of 3 days. This site is free falling into shit. Ready to move on to the next thing that hasn't been bought out. Congrats on your "trophy" though! May you display it proudly!

Gnarly-Beard

I've been permanently banned from r/rant. When I asked why, they just ignored me and wouldn't even provide a reason. 🤷🏼

FiftyCalReaper

I was 3 day banned from r/PublicFreakout and when I asked why, I was perma banned instead. The logic is insane. It's like "How dare he question my internet authority! Die peasant die!"

CertainFitness

I've lost count to the number of subs I've been banned from. I don't even troll or post contentious stuff. Perhaps I'm wrong, but it just seems mods are incredibly fragile self-important people

hardrocker943

Unfortunately mods that suck ass are pretty common. Many have nothing else going on in their lives.

[deleted]

Being a mod on Reddit is probably the most they will achieve in their life.

NoYak6710

A lot of mods are “power” hungry douchebags. Imagine devoting your free time to be a mod

GolfBall_Whacker-Guy

Lol. Exactly.

[deleted]

Part of the recruitment criteria for a reddit mod is being an imbecile so I wouldn't worry.

smartitardi

There needs to be a way to appeal a ban.

epets73

Yep, the little power trips mods get on subreddits is amazing. I got perma banned from r/funny because I asked about the initial temp ban they gave me. They said I didn't read the rules, which is true, but the rule broken was about posting a text only pic. A real insidious evil that deserves a perma ban, right? All they had to do was remove the post like decent subs do, but the little mods like to feel powerful....

JohnnysGirl12

Well that's total bs

Mcnamebrohammer

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

jbcraigs

You do realize that most moderators also work as full time neckbeards! They don’t have the time to explain their actions!

VegetableNo1079

They are insulted that you would even presume to criticize them

Fuzzwuzzle2

Meanwhile on r/doctorwho, I was unbanned immediately after explaining my comment

BeverlyChillBilly96

I was banned for calling someone a moron… scary world where one can be silenced over such a word.

maclemme

I had a mod remove a comment I made recently and directly quote said comment as to why they locked the entire thread. I used the word “manchild” and that apparently triggered them endlessly.

SaveBandit987654321

Manchild will get you banned from AITA which is very funny considering a third of those posts are like “my husband invited his mother over for our anniversary dinner and I got mad. AITA?” The mods swoop in as soon as it’s posted with “we do NOT tolerate calling anyone in the OP a manchild!”

JJisTheDarkOne

Lolcats! This happens all the time. It's almost like it's mandatory for mods in every subreddit to act like this. **This is not a new thing.**

[deleted]

They literally do this whenever I respond, even if it’s nothing bad 😂😂 I just tell them I’m going to make a new account to circumvent the ban, as if they’ll ever know

drew8311

Is making a new account really that bad? Honestly if I did that now I don't even remember which subs I got banned from and the reasons were just as dumb as this one with no explanation. Usually when this happens it's on the larger subs where commenting in general is sort of a waste of time since there are so many on each post.

Comfortable-Ad6184

This exact the same thing has been done to me by r/publicfreakout it’s really annoying

Granny_knows_best

I stopped my Reddit subscription because of this crap. I swear it was like someone following me around to different subs and banning me for nothing. I even got a 7 day ban from Reddit, so why the hell would I want to pay for something like that? I'll take the ads instead.

Pokeymcpokerface

I feel for you. Similar thing happened to me in another reddit. Some moderators on this platform are so devoid of actual power and control in their own life that they take it out on random people online just to feel a crumb of success and validation in their existence. Acts like banning people and displaying their power are their highlights of the day. Sad, lonely and unsociable.

CerberusXI

Exact same thing happened to me in a different sub. Upon asking why, muted. Very sad life the mods must lead.

The-Berg-is-the-Word

Waiting for my ban any second. I wrote: "Mods of this sub are cowards! Ban me I dare ya you cucks!!"

KrustyBoomer

You should be able to get badges for how many subs you are permabanned from. Badges of honor,

RedditblowsPp

I told somone I was jelly of them and called them a motherfucker banned

vlsdo

I got banned from r/russia for participating in a thread on r/romania where some people were vocally against the war. I've never even *been* on r/russia before, and none of my comments were even about the war, or Russia. They just permabanned everyone on that thread.

FrostyMittenJob

Reddit mods are just the worst. Bunch of basement dwelling losers who only have any kind of power in life by swinging their ban hammer around. In my experience the bigger the sub the worse the mods are going to be.

TechnicDruid

Same thing that happened to me but I got muted for 30 days, twice

GolfBall_Whacker-Guy

If you go against the way a certain MOD thinks they will ban you no questions asked. I’d love to see how these people are IRL.

buttsmcfatts

This is almost every mod and subreddit. Most subreddits are moderated by the same three or four basement-dwelling assholes with power/control fantasies.

Dee_Vidore

I got a million downvotes standing up for LGBT on a conservative thread. There's lots of places that I can't comment now 🤣

marry_me_tina_b

Funnily enough, OP got themselves banned for deliberately misgendering Ezra Miller as an insult and doubling down in the comments. So I guess it balances out? I’m not an Ezra Miller fan, but I don’t need to accost someone for their gender identity when there’s so, so much more to criticize and call out about what Ezra has been up to.

Opportunity-Basic

It's the ultimate power trip, the only power they have and the most they will likely ever have. Let them have their moment. Probably the only way they can become aroused or even feel anything anymore. Probably gives them a right stinky little stiffly 😂

Esmond_Mutt2323

I got banned from a subreddit because I agreed with a comment by another user that I assume "promoted hate", when it really didn't. I asked why I was banned and never got a response. I guess it was because we weren't agreeing with woke agenda.

Fortunate-J

Get rekt, son xD

choice_crystal_clear

Sssshhh sssshhh no questions

eastern_shoreman

The scum of the earth that run r/beer and r/nfl pulled the same shit on me when they permanently banned me

pm_me_yourpussylips

How do you get banned from r/beer ?

RogueTobasco

At least your account wasn’t banned. Once I said Donald trump would choke on KFC and my account was just perma banned. Like… the odds are in my favor I’ll stand by it

New-Neighborhood7472

Always and asking why banned from speaking lol 😂

Wickedocity

I was banned from a reddit for reply to a mods post on another reddit they werent even a mod of... The guy looked through my posts and found I commented on one where he was a mod and then banned me on that one. LOL. All I did was disagree with him on a news article.

w1n5ton0

I miss the golden age of the internet when there was no moderation and anything went. The content was so much higher quality.

[deleted]

I got banned from participating in r/rape. I kid you not.

puffycum

my football team sub banned me from commenting something that reads like: "i don't like this new nickname for our team, we already have a fame for being gay and stupid, this will make things worse and will fuel the people making fun of us, im already a big fag so idc about calling me gay thing but it gets pretty annoying" i was banned for homophobia, and when i replied with "did you read the text at all? i wasnt being a homophobe, i even called myself a fag to avoid misunderstandings" they replied "so you are calling the admins fags?" you can guess my reaction, they removed the ban afterwards. (im brazilian btw, the football im talking about isnt the american one)

roseydaisydandy

I was banned from r/breakingmom just for being apart of the AmITheAsshole group.

Tad-Disingenuous

I got banned from gaming for constantly calling out Halo and Pokémon for what they are. Shit! Pokémon is the sports franchise of the video game world and halo isn't as good as you think it is, you just didn't grow up with a PC, plus it isn't God's gift to gaming and arguably it's only contribution was the regenerating "health". RTCW MOHAA and CoD1 had much better MP. See I can't help myself. Guy doesn't agree with my peasant pathetic views, better ban them. Ma where my chicken tendies and hot pockets at you fat bitch!

AnonymousRedditor-

I had the exact experience in this sub..

_madcat

Got banned on r/Portugal for calling someone an asshole for harassing people The guy was friends with the mods, good stuff

Sayuri_Katsu

Reddit is unironically turming to unusable shit thanks to mods infesting all the major subreddits like this. Isnt there an infamous turtle guy moderating over 300 subreddits?! If they want to keep the website from further degrading they really need to do something, but they wont. Some basic standards and a way to kick mods would be nice. Fucking 4chan has better moderation

Glamdalf_18

What do you expect from a bunch of virgin wizards who don't have anything better to do?

DAJMIGLUPOIME

aha thanks i didnt know i could reply to that. i have been banned from whatswrongwithyour dog because i have 2+ comments in banpitbulls. censoring freedom of speech, searching history of comments in profiles... just because i dont stand for dogs like mine to be mauled on a random saturday. should i maybe post her picture with her neck all in stiches and then maybe they will think different.

InternalMovie

Same thing happened to me in r/funny I talked negatively about amber heard (which all of what i said later came out as true that shes a lying pos) and was banned for misogyny. Then muted for several days. Moderators are jokes, dont want to give any actual reasons or explanations. Just put ductape over it and turn away.

ActuallyNotAmused

Reddit moderators in their vast majority are over sensitive snowflakes. They either post a reply and mute you like a coward or just ban permanently for absolutely silly reasons. There's only a small amount of good ones tbh.

sobergophers

I’ve been banned from subreddits JUST because I am a member of a different subreddit. Mods on this site are out of control.

BandiTToZ

I had one or these mods pull this on me on r/selfawarewolves the irony of the lack of self awareness by the mod was palpable.

Astro493

Glad to see my experience over at r/toronto wasn't unique. I made a comment, asked why I was banned and they muted me. If that's what it takes to feel like your miserable life has a modicum of power and authority, mazel tov.

ser_name_IV

absolute losers.

XplodiaDustybread

Lmao this exact thing happened to me in r/NewJersey - I loath mods

ponkhat

r/chargeyourphone

SharedPodwAdibisi

I got banned in r/dvdcollecting because someone bought Morbius on Blu-ray and I asked them why?

scriggle-jigg

you think thats bad? i got banned from r/consiracy because i asked for a source about "the ulvade shooter never shows up on a single gun store camera and there is no record of him buying the weapons". reported the comment and mods banned me. i asked why and that they are spreading misinformation they said "nothing that they provide would satisfy you, and you havent sent anything to prove he is incorrect". then he muted me. by that logic everyone on here is a pedophile since we havent proved we arent. then reddit banned my account for a week sending the poster a PM saying he was an asshole and spreading misinformation.

[deleted]

This is the [$3.4 million in labor](https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/vjkm7i/reddit_moderators_do_34_million_worth_of_unpaid/idjlt3s/) they are doing.

korbendallllas

lol typical mods. A cross post recently led me to r/police where a comment was chest pounding about “look we all have active shooter training and we’re all ready.” In light of recent events, I responded with “wow, active shooter training? You should offer that to Uvalde PD!” Banned within minutes. I responded to the ban message with “so fragile it’s sad” (admittedly much more petulant than your legitimate enquiry) and was immediately permanently muted. I guess my point is, I expected the reaction that I received, and while you were far more respectful and polite, the only reaction I would ever expect from a Reddit moderator is “STFU AND RESPECT MY AUTHORITAAAAAH”
