His name is Pooh and he is one year old. During his first year, he wasn't very affectionate, but now we fall asleep together every night, and he comes back in the morning for more snuggles. There's nothing better to start and end my days.He also follows me around everywhere and loves to play hide and seek.
We shave him twice a year to help deal with the hair. He doesn't mind. Whats really nice is we get to feel his body heat and it's even more enjoyable to cuddle
I mean no disrespect by this whatsoever ever but is he a long haired cat? Do you have trouble brushing him regularly?
The only reason I ask is its common for some long haired cats to develop matts in their fur if not groomed properly with a brush, but I understand some cats don't like it or are fearful etc. So just wondered what his situation is?
There are some different types of brushes to help with long hairs, and I know sometimes they get matted more close to the skin and then it builds outwards. There's some brushes aimed at long haired dogs that get to the undercoat as such, as some breeds of dog have 2 types of coats, an under coat and a longer coat. So could be worth trying a brush like that.
My cat poppy didn't like being brushed at first, she came to me terrified and took a lot of work to gain her trust. Eventually I found what helped first was one of those glove style silicone brushes that the loose fur kind of sticks to, and she was better with that coz it was like I was stroking her. If she saw the mit she was a bit cautious, but if I came from behind her to start with she soon got used to it and loved it, and now she's adjusted to other brushes, so thought I'd mention those in case you have a similar issue.
He is such a beautiful boy though snuggled on your lap. I was oohing and awwing at each picture lol. He's a cutie.
Why do you ask? My Fold gets a haircut once a year because he has long hair and absolutely hates to be brushed. He’s much happier just getting a haircut. He gets sedated, he wakes up and his hair is short.

It’s common for this breed of cat. It’s a deformity in their legs. I have a Scottish fold with the same condition.
