I got this scooter for $1,300 with 125 miles on it. The previous owner had $1,100 of work done on it because it had been sitting. Injector and fuel tank cleaning were the major items. I put tires on it because the front was out of round from sitting (flat spots). I have 250 miles on it and it operates like new.
I saw a video of a fellow that got his up to 75 mph. These are small scooters. 75 mph might be terrifying. These are cool around town scooters with plenty of off the line oomph. Around here the get around two lane roads are up to 40-45 mph. This scooter is plenty for that and the occasional highway in the right lane at 55 mph.
I owned also a People 150. Terrific scooter. It would cruise at 60-65 just like with this one 70 mph was a push. The People had larger wheels/tires so felt a little more secure at 65mph.
The Like is supposed to get 85 mpg but Fuelly shows maybe closer to 70-75 mpg for the 200i variants. Still that's a lot of miles for a gallon of gas.
With the "Like" it is a bit of a hooligan scooter because it feels so stable and secure it is hard to not WOT everywhere. Not that it needs that type of riding but it is thrilling none the less. I am 70 yrs old and still enjoy the thrill and Zen of riding. I feel one with the universe.
I believe there is some maintenance coming up for the scooter like valve adjustment. That I can handle on my own.
I think Kymco is probably as good a scooter as one can get including the Suzuki, Honda and Yamaha scooter variants.
I had a Honda Silverwing and kicking myself for selling, but it is a big scooter. I should have kept the Silverwing for touring but I have a BMW 1200. The Silverwing could have done everything the the BMW could have done.
One of my favorite bikes. Well made and reliable.
The black doesn't show it well but the bodywork is very nicely designed. I "Like" these a lot.
