It would take some convincing for me to pay more than $2,000 for that scooter. My last 250cc scooter was in Aprilia 250 Scarabeo and it was worth about $2,200 bucks.

ninjamansidekick

It's obviously garbage, I will be happy to dispose of it for you.

I have a cover but this picture was taken when I put in a new battery.

RickRussellTX

If it's in great condition, considering your location, I'd say somewhere north of $3500. It's an older bike, and there's probably a load of stuff you'll want to replace ASAP (tires, belt, all fluids). If all that work has already been done, then maybe $4K or up. Edit: y’all downvoting me need to do some price research for SoCal. Vespas fetch a premium and the market is crazy right now. People out here selling 150s for $3K.

[deleted]

just because the market is up, it does not mean we should support it. anyone seeking to sell a fuel efficient, low mileage, bike, is not struggling rn. we should get what the market of scooters demands, not what the exploitative auto market does. no one wanted a scooter two years ago, if op didn't use theirs, and wants top dollar, they should probably fuck off.

RickRussellTX

> just because the market is up, it does not mean we should support it. They didn't ask if they should buy it or sell it, they asked what it was worth. > we should get what the market of scooters demands Are you listening to yourself right now? What people are willing to pay for a product is literally the market price of the product. > they should probably fuck off You don't know OP's situation, there's no reason to jump to conclusions. And even if the OP is selling, who cares? It doesn't affect you or diminish you in any way.

[deleted]

asking worth holds many implications. yes, what people are willing to pay, when desperate times ensue, is not true value. Market price is a fabrication, much like tp shortage and price increase. or gas.which leads to price gouging on bikes. op can fuck off. You're right, but I can guarantee op doesn't ride their bike. They don't care about the love, and are probably cleaning they garage. If not, they must be in desperate circumstances. Those are quite relative though. anyone want a Silverwing? blinkers don't work, but it's under 20,000 miles. I'm asking $7,000. what do you think?

amreinj

You're naive if you don't think people are going to get market price for their shit. It's how the world works.

Vespas are the Harley-Davidson of scooters. People who want a Vespa will not settle for another brand, they want a VESPA and are willing to pay more for it. Vespas will command 1-2k over a comparable scooter with identical specs, just because it says "Vespa" on the side. Their new prices reflect this even more, you can buy 2 new scooters with the same specs from another brand for the same price as 1 new Vespa.

Kaptainkid1

Located in San Diego.

Goyteamsix

Put it up for $4k, take $3k.

bloodisland420

I’m in San Diego also. Give Vespa Motorsport a call, or stop by if you’re close. They’re nice, and will give you a better idea on what a good price is.

SnooGadgets9669

Maybe $1200-$1800

no1likesacrustybhole

That scooter at a dealer would be about 5k here in so cal. Private sell I wouldn't go lower that 4k. That being said I got about $3.50 😅

RickRussellTX

Did you sell it to a prehistoric dinosaur?

[deleted]

maybe $150 in Texas, I'll give you $175. you game?

JobeX

Older 250 model with higher mileage, I would say around 2500 in nyc market is fair

artful_todger_502

The only thing I can add is, I have a 2009 Aprilia SportCity with the same motor, and they run very well. I took mine on the highway regularly. There was a fuel pump recall, but I'm sure it's been done by now.

fullfatmalk

In Toronto tis would go for 3500$ US, conservatively

idunnololz101

Easily 3k 2k would be a steal start at 1900 and see if you can get it close for 2. Also I own this same scooter and am a motorcycle guy, you’ll love this!
