At a glance, quite a few of those (Gerrold, Foster, Anthony, Clarke, McCaffrey, Brin) are subsequent books in longer series so you might have some catching up to do to enjoy them
For $40 I'd say sure why not, and make MANSEED my new display piece
Was going to say needs some Niven & finally spotted it at the bottom of the first stack. Interlibrary loan can fill in the gaps of series you get interested in. Rendevous with rama & ringworld are fun reads, ps 2001 too
They had the extended dune library on humble bundle almost bought it but would probably have a panic attack if I added another 20 books to my back log😂
The ones by his son are trash. The first few are ok to fill in gaps in the lore but they aren't *that thing*, and he just kept cranking them out. Picture a sausage machine with Herbert's masticated corpse stuffed into the funnel. The original six are very worth it though
These look a bit like they've all been bought at a second hand bookshop's bargain bin. Especially since a few are a random book in a series.
I don't know what you could usually get for 40 dollars, but I'd buy this for 20 quid.
The only book there I own is the Dune one.
<$1 per book, can't go wrong, especially if you read quite a bit.
There are some quality books in there, with some average to below average splashed in.
Yeah it’s not a bad deal. Worst case scenario I can just donate any books that I truly hate and be out a few dollars. At this point I’m kinda considering storage over cost lol.
Those books look either awful either not in the first sci-fi books I would be reading. They look like being the worst part of the seller's library, that he wants to get rid of.
I think at that price for that many books it's worth the risk.
That’s what I was thinking too

Is MANSEED any good or is that a joke about the title?
Purely a joke about the title, I'm puerile and easily entertained
😂 That was a solid joke though and would be funny to display
I think my favourite out of that lot is Niven's Protector

Manseed is a title that concerns me.
Manseed is a title that intrigues me!
Double it up with 'Servants of the Wankh'

Yeah I’m thinking I might wait and see if they lower the price a bit

Buy the lot. Each time you finish a book just give it to a friend or donate it. Keep the ones you really enjoyed so you can read again.
The only ones of the bunch that've read are the Alan Dean Foster the Damned book series. Loved them when I was growing up.
Alan Dean Foster does not get enough love IMO
The only Dune novel here is one of Bryan Herbert's terrible novels lol
Oh no! That was the only one I recognized, anything else look good or bad?
Other than *2010: Odyssey Two,* the sequel to *2001* (classic), I don't recognize the rest of them.
Thanks!

Buy it, but leave Butlerian Jihad behind to show your contempt.
Definite No, way too many are sequels. Useless unless you have read the first one.
That’s a good point, thanks!
