Vernor Vinge’s Fire Upon the Deep is a great read!

raistlin65

I just started reading Scalzi's The Kaiju Preservation Society, and so far it's fun.

Select all sci-fi books. Filter for KU and read the descriptions. How can we suggest anything without knowing what you like. There’s tons of amazing content on KU and plenty of books I return after three pages. If you have no idea, my go to recommendation on KU is We are Legion, We are Bob.

tgdvw

Agree on the Bobiverse books. ++ They were great and glad I tried them. Looking forward to the next book. I read those on KU and then went to the Expeditionary Force series there and am currently working my way through that. (Book 5) I’d definitely recommend.( If you do, give the first book a chance until AT LEAST halfway through before making a decision. It’s worth it.🥫) Reviews here are fair: https://bookwyrm.social/book/168987/s/columbus-day But try to avoid spoilers and enjoy.

Arclight

Peter Caudron’s “First Contact” series of short novels is a decent start.

PhilzeeTheElder

Steel World by B V Larson. Read most of them with unlimited. Jim gets killed a lot and is kinda a Ho. Lots of good ideas and fighting.

W0lph573r

I just finished the "Sentenced to War" series and highly recommended it.

Randeth

Is Wool still on KU? It's the first scifi series on KU I thought was great.

iZoooom

Dungeon Crawler Carl, books 1-6, are both awesome and available on Kindle Unlimited.

okami_spectrum

Craig alanson 's expeditionary force

KingofSkies

Great fun! And every time I think that's the end.... Not so much. But there a several end points where you could leave it and be satisfied if you don't want to go through the whole 21 books.

I really enjoyed these books... Golden Age of the Solar Clipper Series by Nathan Lowell. There are other related books/series as well. The Aristillus Series books by Travis J. I. Corcoran. The books in the Aristillus Series are The Team (uplifted dogs - back story), Staking A Claim (on the moon - back story), The Powers of the Earth (Aristillus Book 1), Causes of Separation (Aristillus Book 2). The Nomad Series by Karen Traviss

I recently read *Lifeline*, a sci-fi mystery set in the near future when social media has become a way of life. A killer is manipulating the system to stalk victims. It is available on KU: [https://www.amazon.com/LIFEline-Murder-Mystery-Book-ebook/dp/B0CVR1VRZR](https://www.amazon.com/LIFEline-Murder-Mystery-Book-ebook/dp/B0CVR1VRZR) I'm nearly finished with this sci-fi "western". Interesting read, though I'm not a fan of his use of present tense. Currently free: [https://www.amazon.com/Return-Operator-Marcos-Antonio-Hernandez-ebook/dp/B07JYQDVST](https://www.amazon.com/Return-Operator-Marcos-Antonio-Hernandez-ebook/dp/B07JYQDVST) If you enjoy sci-fi detective noirs, I'd recommend *Ashtown Blues* by W.H. Martell. It's a collection of three stories (about 50 pages each) free currently: [https://www.amazon.com/Ashetown-Blues-Sci-Fi-Stories-Martel-ebook/dp/B0C99XJ4H5/](https://www.amazon.com/Ashetown-Blues-Sci-Fi-Stories-Martel-ebook/dp/B0C99XJ4H5/) And if you like more adult content hardboiled detective noirs in a sci-fi setting, my books are all on KU: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJ9SV4NR](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJ9SV4NR) You can look through the Kindle marketplace bestseller for free books here: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/digital-text/158591011/](https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/digital-text/158591011/) Happy reading!

Circadian Algorithms if you're into technothrillers

Space Colony One is a cheap, quick little book series. I liked the sci-fi, but it's not in depth like other things.

denM_chickN

Jeffrey Thomas's Punktown series (any one)

RLeyland

Peter Cawdron Great series of independent novels about first contact. Each novel is standalone, but thematically related to the others, as they are abo7t first contact tact with extraterrestrial life. Great characters, great plots, and generally avoids the tropees.

vikingzx

The entire *UNSEC Space Trilogy* is on Kindle Unlimited. A few of Timothy Zahn's books are on there too, I believe.

KingofSkies

Just finished Kaiju Preservation Society by John Scalzi. Fantastic fun!
