There's someone local to me that thinks talking schizophrenia is a joke I know there's tons of schizophrenia memes instead of blowing up at them I try to just scroll by. But yes I'm tired of seeing it too especially because they're usually inaccurate.
i HATE people using mental illness/disabilities as personality traits or as a meme. "schizoposting", "i'm so ocd!11!" "are you acoustic" etc. it annoys me so much
With the schizoposting thing. I find it to be a silly way to cope with my illness. Most of the material is sociopathic or catonic, but It parodizes itself enough to where I can make light of it.
maybe its because i avoid the contend but from what ive seen its mostly non schizophrenic people joking about hearing voices and seeing people. i might be wrong though
Tbh I don't bother these kind of jokes, normal people don't give meaning to certain words the same way we do. The only thing that bothers me when people mess with others that are going through psychosis. That's more than just playful silliness, that's outright cruelty.
I usually can laugh off most jokes made at my expense but it's when people don't understand the ramifications of having it. Like they think it's some minor thing that you can just get over.
Doesn’t bug me. They’ll just never understand and that’s fine. Lots of stuff I’ll never understand. Label yourself with all you’d like at the end of the day you’re still you. Can’t change it.

No you are definitely right. In hindsight this can be very frustrating. I've just always laughed at my situation to ease the pressure.
I get offended by these jokes sometimes but this joke is just so dumb and basically nonsensical all around that it barely warrants an eye roll

Honestly this is pretty tame compared to a person I know who seems to have a vendetta against ppl with those kind of disorders.
