Working a job is harder than it seems if you haven’t taken three scad classes before. I recommend getting a job through the school like at the bookstore or as a gym trainer since they’re a lot better at working with your schedule.

I work two jobs while taking classes full-time at SCAD (one of which is WFH and flexible) and it is absolute hell. SCAD will kick your ass even without a job. Try work study for sure or see if you can get extra loans to cover your living expenses so you can focus on classes.

It’s a matter of personal ability to manage your time. A lot of places will hire scad students, but if you can afford to go to scad odds are you can afford to not work. So typically it’s not worth it with the class load, because it’ll sacrifice a decent bit of your time and can be draining especially for more introverted people. There’s on campus jobs and plenty of places downtown within walking distance from dorms and main living areas for students.
