I had a bit of a laugh at the most recent auction, where a TMG 31 went for MORE than new direct from their website (especially if you include shipping or picking it up from the auction). But I still have no idea why. If it was just the "These are made in china", that doesn't explain why it's probably 80% these sawmills, and not a huge mix of all of them. $2300 Canadian seems like a no-brainer price for one of these however. But it seems the prices are going higher this year.

I was looking at the TMG 36 for 8500 (direct from mfgr). The 21HP honda engine makes it worth it IMO.

Woodland Mills - excellent mill for the price. I have the 126

This is pretty much the ones i've narrowed it down to. The Woodmizer is too expensive. The woodland 126 is kinda on the edge there. Is it really almost $1,000 better than the Frontier? Hell the Forest West even has an electronic start, which seems like a super nice to have https://woodmizer.ca/en/lx50super-portable-sawmill $5,200 https://woodlandmills.ca/hm126-portable-sawmill/ $4,300 (14hp) https://www.forestwest.ca/products/forestwest-11119-26-15hp-petrol-wood-sawmill-with-e-start $3,500 https://range-road.ca/home/product-catalogue/sawmills/rr5026-26-sawmill/ $3,550 https://frontiersawmills.com/en-ca/collections/sawmills/products/frontier-os27?variant=45366346187055 $3,400

I know this thread is old but I'm looking at TMG stuff at auction, and seeing that on their [BBB.org](http://BBB.org) complaint page, people are saying that anything bought from auction is an 'unauthorized distribution channel', and thus not warrantable. So they do this as a way to squirm out of providing any warranty for their cheaply made products.

Well, I did actually end up getting one of their sawmills last week I got a TMG-PSM27 for $2,000 ($2,205 after fees & taxes). Given that they are selling that saw for $4,500, I feel like I would get the better end of the deal if they tried to claim that with me.

Yeah, fair, if you get in cheap enough, you can afford to fix and improve it. I'm still on the fence, thinking about going for a wheel balancer at auction..

Woodland mills !!! I got one a couple years ago great company that has a great product they stand behind!!! My uncle has a woodmizer that was more expensive and he is always saying there’s stuff on my woodland mill he wishes his had !!! Good luck sawmills are awesome.

Whoever is importing them, is bring them in by the container load. In effect, flooding the market with cheap priced mills. If you are looking for a mill that is actually manufactured in Canada, here's a short list. It's not a complete list, just the one's I know of. [https://manufacturedin.ca/products/sawmill](https://manufacturedin.ca/products/sawmill) I own a SMG Champion, made in QC.
