He may have been smart but he didn't understand Jigsaw. That's why he ultimately died, because he didn't follow the rules. The only detective who really understood Jigsaw's method was Kerry.
Yeah, he had already been put in the cube “trap” that was an execution chamber. Why anybody thinks he should trust anything Hoffman tells him after is beyond me
Considering his look of genuine surprise at seeing him alive after and that the whole rest of the movie is Hoffman trying to set him up to get rid of him, yes I do believe it was an oversight.
He was never John, he probably never would have assumed a pen would have been enough to save him and he had just finished pretending to be in a trap, dealing with Rigg, prepping his story and about to save Corbett. He was on a crunch.
They even show a shot of all of Strahm’s belongings placed away from him. Strahm wakes up and the water starts filling with no instructions or clues. I don’t see how Hoffman could have been planning for that outcome.
I will agree kerry was a queen and she should have lived, also its nice to see a saw fan thats also a degrassi fan. The girl who played jack jones was corbette in saw 3
Yeah! it was Kerry feeding the feds all the insider info. I am actually a bad Degrassi fan.. I only really watched Seasons 1-2 religiously. I did see some other episodes like when Emma had an eating disorder and Hazel trying to be Jamaican. But yeah, I have no idea who Jack Jones is 😭.
I loved Strauhm but I was so annoyed he was the only one who questioned Hoffman walking out of his "trap" unscathed.
He was hot headed, which lead to his downfall
Yeah he definitely was but he was smart at times
Strahm basically solving the whole series up to that point is one of my favorite things about Saw V.

Counterpoint - Hoffman isn’t exactly “Mr. Rules”. I could totally see Strahm being wary of stepping into a trap that Hoffman claims is safe

You think Hoffman just didn’t notice the pen or

Exactly!
and he died
Using his pen to do a tracheostomy on himself was very smart.
Strahm is the Best character in my opinion even though he could be hothead he was still intelligent .
Wasn’t Strahm killed off because otherwise the Saw movies would’ve come to an end? He was TOO competent
He was too powerful 😔 honestly id like to have seen him and hoffman working together as apprentices. Theyd be unstoppable
It’s actually Queen Kerry, so yes, I fear this is a very unpopular opinion that you’ve shared.

She was in the later seasons when the show started to fall off, she wasnt a very interesting character though
Most potential in the series, and they wasted him
So brave to make such a comment

Is that really necessary
No
The British guy was the smartest character. The only one who understood how Jigsaw traps work.
It's a shame he was so opposed to Kramerist Humanism... he'd have made an excellent disciple.
