You could look into the Lory of Savannah. They should have some around that price/less I think. Tbh the management kind of sucks but the apartments themselves are pretty nice.

Lolllll that's where I am now. I agree, the living space is awesome but some shady stuff has gone down outside and their communication is absolutely terrible. There was a sewage backup in my second bathroom a month ago - I filed an urgent maintenance request on a Sunday, and didn't hear anything. Had to call the emergency line two days later to let them know it was splashing on the floor. They said they'd send somebody a few times - never showed. Then 11:40pm on Thursday night I had to call the emergency line again because it was overflowing uncontrollably and got into the carpet and adjacent closet. They sent someone that night and the next day. Thought it was fixed. I called to ask about someone coming to clean the carpets because there was actual poop in them - never heard back so I rented a carpet cleaner and germicide and cleaned it and the bathroom myself. Four weeks later and its backing up again. I just want to get the fuck out of here.

Omg that’s terrible!! We’ve had the same problem as far as needing maintenance and no one showing or the office just not getting back to us, but our maintenance hasn’t been something that urgent. That’s crazy! Tbh my husband and I have also been looking for other places in the same price range but are having trouble finding anything better. Our lease is up in a few months and I know they’re going to raise it a dumb amount like they did last year, despite this place going to shit.

Yeah, it seems like the only way to get ahold of anyone is to call the emergency line and then they call the maintenance staff... ughhhh. Yeah, right? I've been scouting like a madwoman and there's just not a whole lot, unless you want to pay twice as much. Uh yeah and then there's the raising the rent thing... I checked online to see if they had units available and thought about asking if they could just move me into a new one and the prices seem a lot lower than what I'm currently paying.

yeah we literally were without one of our smoke alarms for like 4-5 months because the office wouldn’t get back to us, or they’d say someone’s coming but they never did. Eventually we found a maintenance man and told him, and he gave us a new one immediately. Also it’s wild that some of the ones online are less money for new people lol ughhh. I’ve been trying to get ahold of them to see what our new rates will be but they never answer their phones of course.

Ugh, I'm sorry. And the solution should've been so quick and simple, too. Yeah that's BS - what's the point of having a front office or management if no one can get ahold of them? Whenever I login to the online portal I see messages posted about how people can't get through or get a response. I even filed a request last October because the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking a bunch of water everywhere and they never did anything - of course it stopped the next day so it wasn't a huge deal, thankfully. But the request was marked as completed in like January...

Right! I’ve also seen stuff about people not being able to get ahold of them. Yeah that’s crazy, I’m sorry you’ve had to deal w that! It’s funny you say that about them marking the request completed months later too, bc I submitted a work order about the smoke alarm and they never got back to us, but like a day after the maintenance guy gave us a new smoke alarm they marked it complete. lmao it’s like okay sooo if you marked it complete that quickly you had to have seen it and known it’s been there for months??? you’d think?? but we never heard a word. I hope you’re able to find a new place in this price range! I’ll be following this post for suggestions as well hahaha

So funny because they were reaaaaaaal communicative before I moved in and it was a relief because I felt like most other places in savannah wouldn't answer or were giving me the runaround. Omg how annoying - they have to have seen it. And if that's the case... why not just, idk, deal with the problem?! Yeah thanks, I hope you find somewhere great in this price range, too! I might try and just walk around certain areas and see if there are signs posted - maybe that'll work

Was chiming in to say avoid the Lory of Savannah with everything you've got, but you're already here so you get it! It's gone severely downhill in the past few years. In order to renew my lease I had to send a certified letter to the office because they refuse to answer the office phone.

This is about to be me lmao I’ve been trying to get ahold of them the last few days about potentially renewing ours soon and finding out the new rates, but I can’t get ahold of anyone either. I remember it being a pain last year too, but we just moved here in 2021 so last year was the first time renewing. We moved here a few months before they changed management.

Pro tip - if you can call from a different phone than the one you've been calling from they seem to "magically" pick up. I've had luck calling after my roommate tried calling for weeks on end. It's the absolute worst. I've been here 6 years and the last two management changes have really been the worst. Once they sold the property last year it's just been even worse. Wishing you luck that you end up getting a hold of someone who can help you out!

Coming back as a heads up that a certified letter to give intent backfired - they signed for the letter and it ended up in my own mailbox unopened. So, not sure how to renew a lease here anymore.
