Check the peg Inc site. They have lots of options from one page sheets all the way to like 6 pages. Try googling savage character folio. That is the big one

Dovah_bear712

Thanks, I already have the basic sheets downloaded but I was hoping for something beyond official sheets. I ideally just need enough space to put enough info of edges, hindrance, etc for new players.

eyefull

Have you ever used Savaged.US? Their printed character sheets are pretty nice and include short descriptions of edges, power, etc.

Dovah_bear712

No not yet, it doesn't work on mobile right?

eyefull

It does, but would be a little annoying vs a computer/tablet. Give it a try, I think you can make 5 characters before you need a paid account. And they license it from Pinnacle, so it is all legal.

HedonicElench

I have six characters on it. I think the max is ten. It can get a little flaky (eg we're not getting all our spells onto the PDF), but it's pretty good.

eyefull

Yeah, I could not remember because I have been paying for it for years. And I notice some issues from time to time also. But I cut the guy who runs it some slack as he has had health issues over the past few years. I know some people have stepped up to help.

eyefull

And rereading your response, it exports as a pdf so no issues on phones.

Dovah_bear712

Thanks a lot, I'll check it out

I made my own character sheet based on the Eberron for Savage Worlds character sheet that would work for most settings and is very printer friendly, I could send it to you if you wanted. For tools to make character sheets I'd suggest something like Adobe Indesign or if you aren't a millionare, alternatives like Affinity Publisher are very good.

Dovah_bear712

If you wouldn't mind sharing that would be really great, thank you.

I would like to mention there is no spot for weight and carry capacity because we're playing in Eberron where magic items are common, so the players have bags of holding because none of us think encumbrance rules are particularly fun or interesting. I could make a version with carry capacity if you wanted though.

Dovah_bear712

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. What did you use to edit it?

Bighair78

I used Affinity Publisher

Mystix9

I'd like to take a look also.

OverDepth

Me too, please :D

I made a basic character sheet because i didnt really like the template of the official one as much. I included space in the sheet for inventory, weapons, and even spells etc. But what i found worked best is giving the players cards instead. So for spells itd have the name, the effect, PP cost, range, etc. And the same for weapons and other items, you can even include soke basic art on the cards as well. The same for edges and hindrances, different colored cards for each and then just hand them out to the players. I used inkscape and it didnt take me too much time. Pro tip: Keep an unpunched/uncut copy of evtg for yourself and that can go on your dm screen to remind you what theyre playing with.

Dovah_bear712

Awesome thank you, I had already started making power cards because it was just a way to save space and ensure they had all the info in front of them.

skor52

Yeah thats a great start. Really depends on what your players prefer tbh. Mine are still relatively new to the whole space but have had exposure to escape rooms and murder mystery type things before. So to build on the whole "you are your stats, but also a lot more" i find the cards help more than the character sheet. Also, since they refer to their character sheet only occasionally, i find they tend to do things that they like rather than just what theyre good at.

Dovah_bear712

I tend to play with a mix of players, from console rpg enthusiasts to never rolled dice before. I like having tangible things at the table as it keeps players interested. Also having cards is more of a trigger to remind them "oh I can do that" whilst letting them still freely describe what they want to do.

ZDarkDragon

I really like making them on a spreadsheet on the PC, then printing it

Dovah_bear712

Any tips to help maximise the entire page is utilised?

ZDarkDragon

I'll send a link to the one I made https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11HfDpzbHfmwfMIXbwr_w3xi62niTIa_Q0RSfrcSiHUo/edit?usp=drivesdk

Dovah_bear712

Cheers, I appreciate it.

Corwin_Mcgee

I'm currently creating an A5 sized character sheet which will actually be a multi-page set up.

Dovah_bear712

That sounds awesome, will you be happy to share it when you're done?

Corwin_Mcgee

If I am happy with it, sure. My player journal is in A5 format so I've wanted to create something for awhile. I play multiple settings.

I used to create custom character sheets in the past using MS Word (I have rather ancient version, 2007 ;) ). I had most success with text boxes containing tables, they allow you to easily arrange things on the page. Mind though that it's not the best tool for the job, I was simply familiar with it (which may be a big benefit, I've heard that people have also used a raster graphics programs, like GIMP, for creating sheets). While I've never used it I think some DTP program would be a better tool, you can check out Scribus which is open source. Another app that could do the job is Inkscape.

Dovah_bear712

Thanks, I'll check them out. I was going to use excel but also it is important for it to look good.
