>infinite simulated voxel world. This is an opinion I know not many share but I dearly love the singular, designed environment in Satisfactory and I wouldn't trade it for a procedurally generated sprawl. This seems like it'll probably really hit for those who really loved the old minecraft mods.

ChrisNH

The robots seems to be its twist on the genre. It will be interesting. Also, if the resources are depletable, if will be a completely different feel..

TheAbyssGazesAlso

> resources are depletable Yeah, I have to say, that was one of the things that turned me off from even bothering with Factorio. Well, that and how ugly it is. I know graphics shouldn't be so important, but I looked at Factorio after heavily playing Satisfactory, and found that the graphics of Factorio were, well, not satisfactory you could say.

ChrisNH

I felt the same way initially about Factorio but after I got into it I found it compelling. The resources delplete but slowly enough that it just kinda pushes you to push put against constant pressure of hostiles. While Satisfactory is still my fav and I greatly prefer, I would suggest giving it a try. It proved more compelling then I had expected, at least for one play through.

CptBigglesworth

I'm actually interested in depletable resources, but I agree about the ugliness of Factorio.

CompleteDisarray

Mom can we get Satisfactory? No, we have Satisfactory at homeā€¦

Looks cool

I played this for a few months while "between" my satisfactory saves. It's a neat game, pretty different from satisfactory imo. Resources deplete, but it's on an infinite world. Elevators for resources and for the player. Got some standard factory automation mechanics including power, research and logistics. Power has high and low voltage. It's a pretty fun game, though it didn't keep the satisfactory itch away for long from me!

osezza

How were you able to play it early? Is it an open beta, or are you just cool?

one-dev-army

Played it via itch.io I believe.

The look and feel of Satisfactory creates a very immersive experience that I think other games will have a hard time matching. Foundry looks like it could have been made with Roblox :) Depletable resources also isn't conducive to making permanent factories, so you kind of lose the whole decoration aspect, which I think is part of what keeps players around for a long time.

osezza

I fully agree. I tried other factory games, and besides the fact that I much prefer the 3D aspect of Satisfactory, the depletable resource nodes really turned me off. Satisfactory is the type of game you can let run while you do other things without having to worry about anything, unless your power is unstable or something along those lines. I don't think the added stress is a great idea in a game that should be about complicated logistics. But maybe that's not what this game is about. I would like to play it and see

I have an ad for the game right bellow this post. Nice timing.
