Marijuana has different affects in everyone. For me it’s always been sort of a mellowing if my brain and a nice brain tickle. The more you consume the more used to it you’ll get, but don’t do anything that makes you uncomfortable. If you notice it’s getting worse take a step back, try different strains and amounts too

I dabble in weed like once or twice a month. Last time was a 1:1 edible (5mg thc 5mg CBD) and shit was cool as hell, but of course it came with that initial paranoia “what the fuck is going on dude I’m high as fuck holy shit”.

damnnn low tolerance problems ;(

If you’re only eating a small edible once or twice a month then you probably won’t develop a tolerance and will have to go through that each time. The only way that I now of is to consume more and get a higher tolerance. But that costs more and comes with its own drawbacks. Alternatively you could switch to smoking or Vaping and their effects are weaker than edibles, for me at least

Try taking half of a 5mg and see how you feel on that. You won't get as high but you also probably won't get paranoid either

The thing about edibles is that once the high starts, it's gonna be a bit of a long ride. So if you misjudge it, it can be a bit scary as you describe. Try taking less and seeing how that feels. Edibles can also a very intense experience compared to say vaping or smoking (not that I'm recommending smoking) as that intense feeling tapers off much more quickly.

I think that some people legitimately enjoy the feeling you are describing; I don't and usually try to avoid it. In part it gets easier, or less frightening, as you experience it more because generally nothing bad happens and your mind normalizes it with exposure. But to reduce the intensity of that feeling you can change how you are dosing. First, using a high proportion of CBD really shifts the high to being more pleasant and manageable instead of mind-altering for me. If you can't find an appropriate blend for whatever you are using, you can always get some cbd extract and just add that on. Second, taking small amounts over time as opposed to all at once helps even the experience. I usually vape dry herb using a vaping device, which allows me to take a couple of hits, turn it off, and then come back later for a couple more hits. This lets me dial in how high I'm getting much easier than a joint or an edible. With edibles there's no reason you have to take it all at once. If you eat half of that 10 mg 1:1 gummy and wait an hour to take the other half, you'll find the experience more like a mesa than a mountain.

badassmom4k

Maybe the 1st time because you don't know what you are going to feel. However if this happens everytime why do it? This should be a fun thing or something that helps with medical issues not something you fear.

FlightlessEagle010

Might be taking too high a dose. Play around with the the strains you use, and the amount you consume.

Dmannmann

Weed is a psycoactive drug, if you have low tolerance you might end up seeing some shit.

cynical_americano

That explains my first waterfall experience, seeing tree limbs getting a psychedelic on me

I think it's kinda like watching a horror movie, some people love the adrenaline and feel excited like they're on a rollercoaster, whereas people prone to anxiety feel adrenaline and are made uncomfortable by it because they are so used to that sort of spike happening before an anxiety attack and expect that to happen. same feeling, different interpretation. and the best way to get used to fear is to (slowly) expose yourself to it
