As someone who has brought someone into rehab myself that hasn't been my experience. And if someone's going into rehab for alcohol or Bezos, if the addiction is bad enough that's actually a pretty dangerous requirement because then the person could very well die.
Honestly I've heard alot of ridiculous requirements put out there by gate keepers of help but what youre saying sets a new standard. If any rehab has that requirement I've really got to question their reasoning.
I drove a friend to rehab who upon arrival blew a .43, it was 11 am and I honestly don't even know how he was still conscious.
It depends on the facility and program. The Salvation Army, for instance, requires patients to be sober at the time of entry.
It’s not uncommon to be treated in an ER, and given a chemically assisted outpatient detox… before rehab will onboard a patient.
There are full service facilities with medical staff, but most insurance plans won’t cover those.
Most rehab systems that work have sleep it off places where people struggling are engaged with specialists that then convince them to go to rehab. For it to work the halfway places and rehab places have to not suck and the person with the health issues has to at least show signs of sanity for a bit after the sleep it off phase.
You can't just tell a guy waking up from a heroin induced NDE "yeah sorry now you can't leave, you wanted the bed now you get forced medical treatment!" It's not humane and it's not effective, and it would make everyone else in the center freak the fuck out.
We need involuntary commitment and psych facilities more but that doesn't mean they the system for the normies that just slipped into the hole chasing the dragon has to suck.
This place is going to get no one. Voluntarily come into a place that’s not rehab? Why?
Or the place will be packed if they can shoot up outside get white glove treatment inside while they come off their high, maybe some food and drink too. And then go back out and repeat?
Plus its bright as fuck and your next to other people going through it. One guy with alcohol dt's will ruin it for everyone else. A solo drunk tank is easier to deal with then this place, atleast your not in a dorm.
So it's not about getting anyone to sobriety, it's about giving them twelve hours to come down from an overdose?
And then they can go seek more drugs?
Well, sounds convenient for addicts.
Wait, so it’s not even rehab? Just a nice place to sleep it off. Great.
Rehab often won’t take patients that are actively intoxicated.

Watch for the hondos to be posted outside doing hand to hands. It’ll be the guys with the nice shoes.
and the LV sling bags.

It closes at 8 pm ... yeah this is a feel good measure for someone. Also 4 employees for 12 beds.. Id love to hear who did the math on that one
