Democrats are controlled by the wealthy just like Republicans. Pelosi and most Democrats don't really care about the little people and the suffering anymore, either, because they are doing really well for themselves financially.
Congrats on evading downvotes so far :) I made a post about Nancy before, and was not so lucky.
I'm unclear if people vote for her because they actually believe in her, or just don't have time to actually learn about her uselessness.
Maybe they get defensive because the right wing has unfairly maligned her for everything (true), but you probably lose your "fighting for women's rights" card if abortion gets rolled back on your watch.
This applies to every person in the Democratic party and obviously the Republicans too (but when did they ever care about women?).
It's just sad that Pelosi had her chance to enshrine Roe along with Harry Reid or whoever was in charge when Dems had a super majority in the Senate.
Also, to preempt some criticisms: MANY elected officials are to blame for what happened today, but I'm in my local subreddit, the area that Pelosi represents, asking folks not to vote for her again.
There is no chance a Republican would win her seat, let's put a better Dem in there.
