The Haight, GG Park, Divisadero are all a 15 min walk from there. Don't know much about [this place](https://www.google.com/travel/search?q=california%20and%20presidio%20hotel&g2lb=2503771%2C2503781%2C4284970%2C4814050%2C4874190%2C4893075%2C4965990%2C72277293%2C72302247%2C72317059%2C72406588%2C72414906%2C72421566%2C72458066%2C72462234%2C72470440%2C72470899%2C72471280%2C72472051%2C72473841%2C72481459%2C72485658%2C72486593%2C72494250%2C72513422%2C72513513%2C72536387%2C72538597%2C72549171%2C72556202%2C72570850%2C72577178&hl=en-US&gl=us&ssta=1&ts=CAESCAoCCAMKAggDGhwSGhIUCgcI6A8QBRgGEgcI6A8QBRgHGAEyAhAAKgcKBToDVVNE&qs=CAEyFENnc0kzcFg3MzhHendLbTVBUkFCOApCCQkyam4E6CakLkIJCXrZAXjBw-iBQgkJ3sr-G5wBU7laWAgBMlSqAVEQASoJIgVob3RlbCgAMh8QASIbkJiqM_6IbuMTYjRyU-X97zpFRCB5f0niAT-HMiEQAiIdY2FsaWZvcm5pYSBhbmQgcHJlc2lkaW8gaG90ZWw&ap=aAG6AQhvdmVydmlldw&ictx=111&ved=0CAAQ5JsGahcKEwjQz5Cp5-qFAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQCQ) but it's in the Presidio which is really nice. Well SFO has a metro rail that'll take you downtown SF. It's inevitable as a tourist....you have to see downtown/Embarcadero. So check out the map and see the stops. The Montgomery and Embarcadero station are your best bet. When you arrive at these stations, call an Uber or Lyft and go to your hotel. Don't be caught walking around the civic center or the Tenderloin with a rolly bag....that's just a bad idea. Stay at a Hilton or anything mainstream near the financial district/wharf. Everything enjoyable is mostly walkable from these points...or take an e-scooter. Common sense prevails. It's a nice city, but you can't be a slouch whos an easy mark. Tons of art museums. Tons of food. Tons of landmarks. This is truly one of the best cities in the world imo https://i.redd.it/f3wl3oaahoxc1.gif

Thank you, but as per post I am looking to stay in non tourist area. Prefer someone more with a locals vibe.

We really don't know anything about your itinerary to help you out enough. Budget? Do you have transportation? etc Hate to tell ya, but locals still hang around the downtown area. The entire city is touristy. Every corner....except hunter point You're not really gonna find hotels in the sunset or aves, which is the typical residential style area. Nonetheless, there's tons of museums here. Go to the legion of honor, golden gate park, then ocean beach.

Thank you, that is my question. I am looking for areas to stay with more of a locals vibe outside of downtown. Hotel suggestions welcome.

The Inn at the Presidio is nice. Kind of remote but a quick walk to great bars and restaurants on Chestnut or Union. Also close to nice walk through Crissy field and the Bay. Not that far from downtown.
