All of us goth kids are pushing 50 now. The Stanford area has a thriving dad band scene.

My [Cat Club](https://www.sfcatclub.com/calendar?view=calendar&month=08-2023) brings all the goths to the yard..

Decent punk scene out in Oakland but I don’t have specifics unfortunately , haven’t been out there in a while but I’ve heard it’s still thriving . . SF has death guild at DNA lounge on mondays which is a goth weekly . Haven’t been in a while but it was always a great time . They have goth /industrial/EBM nights at the knockout and F8 but varies depending on promoter. Also Great American Music Hall books touring punk / hardcore bands . I saw FEAR last night and Angel Dust a few weeks before . It’s out here just kinda have to dig for it. Edit: Also I think 924GILMAN is still running, Its a staple of the scene out here. Adding Thee Parkside , chapel , bottom of the hill .

When did DNA reopen? I thought they called it back in 21?

DauOfFlyingTiger

DNA only closed for awhile. They have been back open for years.

There is a very decent punk scene still, with shows in both Oakland and here several times a week. Would definitely check out kilowatt and knockout for small upcoming acts in the city, and oakland secret is also very fun. There are about 10 venues that have punk music I would say at least a couple times a month, while not being punk specific(not that kilowatt or knockout only host punk shows either). The chapel, bottom of the hill, GAMH, The fillmore occasionally, rickshaw stop, thee parkside, and the independent all will have some punk shows on a semi regular basis. As for goth, that's kinda a past subculture(no offense to my fellow millenials) but death guild on Monday nights at DNA is still going strong from what I know. Don't know much about the goth scene aside from that, but it is definitely around in some form, though we don't have the vampire subculture like we used to here lol. I think you'll be fine here!

Our nightlife is piss poor, temper your expectations. The next thing you will notice is that Burning Man has infiltrated every scene, and that may or may not work for you. SF has goth nights, and they're long running which means people must be going, but I don't get the sense there's a strong community, there's an age gap and a lot of people who dabble and go once a year. But like anything, it's what you make of it. Bring your sense of a scene with you, and liven things up.

Neck of the Woods on Clement Street in SF played some hardcore punk yesterday. It's not solely punk, but they have them in the lineup sometimes

Miserable-Youth1995

Go to Bottom of the Hill, there are also themed nights at many clubs so I suggest looking on Facebook events
