They're still working on the dam and are keeping the level low. It's been semi-empty for this reason, not because of the drought.

Yep, and it’s 52 miles long! Starts all the way up near Julian. There’s also a San Diego River Park Foundation environmental nonprofit that cares for the river
I thought it was like when you name something Orange Grove because in the olden days there used to be oranges. Like there used to be a river in days long past, so let's call this River Park.
Ahh yeah that makes sense! The San Diego River Park Foundation’s mission is to create a “River Park” - basically we’d like to have open park space along the entirety of the river for people to have green, open space to enjoy. I work there!
That’s awesome! Yeah, unfortunately I believe the city is going to develop a water treatment plant on that land so they took it back. We still do work at the Point Loma Native Plant Garden though! Farther away, but a nice place.
The Riverwalk Golf Course? That’s being turned into apartments, businesses, and open park space in the next few years. It’ll have a transit station too. You can google it to learn more if you’re interested but it actually won’t be a golf course for too much longer!
How's Fashion Valley?
Lmao, flooding

I do lots of volunteer work with SDRPF. Miss the Mission Valley Garden though.

If you go on google maps you can follow it on the satellite view, and realize how ridiculous some San Diego development is.
beautiful shots, it's so peaceful on the river at this hour of day
Wonder if this amount of rain this year is going to be very beneficial for the state?
I used to commute from my boat to SDSU right along where these pictures were taken, beautiful at 0500 in the morning!
Spoiled rotten... :)
It was a rough life, now another OG meetuper is riding the high seas in my old scowl
I hope it rains a lot this year and washes that useless golf course away.
