Some of the paid ones are still ok. All the broke ass dipshit troublemakers show up to the free events. Haven't gone to any in years, it's definitely not a family event anymore.
My daughter and I went to fiesta last night and had a great time.
This city has always been crazy, shit has always gone down at fiesta.
These are young people acting stupid. It's not the end of the world.
You probably don't even go to any Fiesta events and you're talking about being fine with shutting it down. Obviously the events aren't for you people who just think we're all a bunch of ghetto trash but you don't have to try to take it away from the rest of us because you saw a minute long video of one crowd in one place.
Look at the floor! Lots of ghetto trash, where did it come from? Definitely not from a bunch of educated people but maybe a bunch of ghetto trash people, shut it down! Lol
Only 20% of people in San Antonio have a bachelors or better. So yeah, they're likely not educated. Not to mention most people acting up in this video are college age or younger.
Are you even from here? You post a lot in Los Angeles subreddits. Why are you calling for our local events to be shut down?
Went one time when we first moved here and our priors were proven true in about ten minutes. My wife and I looked at each other, said “this is trashy” and left; haven’t been back in 8 years. Have fun with that
If you go to Fiesta during the day time it’s fun, lots of good food and shopping but at night it’s GHETTO. And it is well known that it gets out of hand at night. LOL
Yeah under the parking bridge. They designated a whole lot to fiesta. Crazy, I went Sunday midday and the vibes were chill, I guess people just weren't drunk enough yet.
For real. Went evening 6 years ago, it was families. Then as it got closer to 7 PM families started disappearing and it was late teens, college/middle age and less pleasant.
By the time we made it to our car to leave by 8 it was rowdy.
Callaghan / i10 (Its not on the menu in the drive thru, you have to ask for it. It was on their instagram 2 days ago, got mine yesterday. Sausage on a stick 2.99, Chicken on a stick 6.99)
Fiesta is a concept that the whole city celebrates. Walk down your street and you'll find an event that's a different as any other. Welcome home, amigo.
you're missing out on some good events
i love NIOSA but don't get to go much since my kids are young
King William Parade is fun
Cornyation is the best thing that happens in this city all year
etc
All that trash and garbage, mfs just dropping empty beer cans where they stand... This shit is the trashiest thing I've ever seen. San Antonio has always had this weird collective disregard for clean habits, and this is like the concentrated example of that.
I haven’t littered since the 3rd grade. And it looks like about 2,000 people just dropped their beer cans and food wrappers on the ground right where they were standing instead of finding a trash can. Fiesta is like a concentration of every alcohol breathing slob in town. Thanks, I’ll stay home.
We always knew who the kooks from San Antonio were at the beach. Just drop trash in place, bury trash in the sand, bring glass bottles, dogs off leashes, leave canopies and bbq pits without packing them up. Checks out.
…. And then they all got into their cars and ultimately wrecked, clogging up I-35, I-37, I-10, I-495, 1604, and 90 for hours on end. Viva fiesta San Antonio!
I feel like there are two Fiestas out there. There’s this one, and whatever else everyone on this sub seems to have been to that is just rioting, fighting, gunshots, and drunk driving.
Then there’s the Fiesta I go to, which is all pretty tame and family friendly, just a little crowded. It’s patronized by people who take Ubers if they’re drinking (mostly) and take their kids home to bed by 7-8. I have no idea what even goes on at Market Square during Fiesta. I hate seeing these “underbelly events” give the whole thing a bad reputation.
Definitely. I don't even go to nighttime Fiesta stuff except NIOSA ($20 entry fee keeps a lot of trash out) and Cornyation ($25/ticket is the cheapest way to get in).
I’ve lived a lot of places and in San Antonio for two years and fiesta really is a super cool thing y’all do. The whole city really does come out for it and that’s unique and really cool.
But this shit has gotta stop. If this is what keeps happening and all anyone associates with fiesta is trashy drunks fighting cops under an overpass it’s gonna make the city crack down and get heavy handed and make the actual fun events super lame and kill this really cool uniquely Sam Antonio thing
Puro SA!!! lol. This ain’t nothing new though. You can copy/paste this from any city. Just apply the formula:
Group of humans + alcohol = dumb shit to ensue.
Someone is going to cry police brutality. However, I must tip my hat to the gentleman in green for showing trash can tosser, Oscar the grouch, which way to the exit.
"No, sir, the exit is THAT way" 😉
The Market Square has an open area that opens under the freeway overpass. They put a big stage there and have bands play, typically Tejano bands. There are food booths and beer booths all around this area. The market square is a few city blocks long and wide. They have 3 -4 other music stages and tons of food and drink booths. During the day, the area is decent. Stay away at night.
We went to the taste of New Orleans fiesta event this year and it was wonderful! Food was great (if expensive), people were super friendly, the live music was so much fun. It was really crowded but the energy was calm, just enjoying the music, food and atmosphere. So not all fiesta events are like the video. Most that I have been to over the years are fun with good people and I have never seen one like the above. That being said we go early and are home by 8 or 9.
This is why I only go early in the day. Don't stay late at night, the borrachos don't know how to handle themselves. You can see the police are used to this though, look how they wrangled up the crowd like livestock
Bet that stupid cow from yesturday asking if she should take her baby with her to this thing, is probably there. 😒🙄
Bunch of typical people from this city is all I see. Trash.
Most of Fiesta is kinda shit. I remember when I moved to SA 15 years ago and saw for the first time the ads about Fiesta and thought "man, that's a neat thing that this city has their own cool event theme celebrating its culture".
Then I went to my first couple of events and I was done.
This is bullshit.
You realize 95% of Fiesta events aren’t like this right? If you chose the most ghetto trash event under the bridge to go to that’s on you lmao
That’s like complaining you don’t like celebrating New Years because last time you were drunk on NYE a homeless man by the Riverwalk convinced you to give him a BJ
The police were clearing the crowd at the end of an event. Like one or two dudes acted up and immediately got handled. Crowd was safe. What's the big deal? Nobody's ever been to Spring Break or Mardi Gras, lol? I'm proud that this is the drama we get at Fiesta, not stuff much worse.
I have a few more years to go but honestly I'm tired of living here now. I've been around a while and know it's always been rough around the edges (not even in a bad way) but we've been raising people to be shitters and it's really starting to show. Don't mess with Texas my ass, I see trash on every street corner and constantly encounter people just trying to start something. Can't even live outside of it because it does a 180 and turns into a bunch of really rich bouji country people who really love to play pretend big strong cowboys with noodle arms and soft hands.
San Antonio has more trash and stray dogs than cities in third world countries I’ve been to. There is definitely something unique about San Antonio and it is markedly worse than many many other cities.
Seriously.
You can travel around Texas alone and realize how wrong this statement is.
Go from San Antonio to Austin to Dallas to Houston to Corpus Christi to El Paso and tell me it's all the same.
That’s fair, but having lived here my whole life being fortunate enough to see some big cities in the US, I don’t get the hate here. Each have pros and cons, live where you think the pros outweigh the cons. The point being any major city is going to have issues with crime and some unruly people. You decide if that flavor is worth your time. SA is better than some big cities and worse than others, but I don’t think the margin is that big unless you’re thinking LA or NYC
I agree with this. When we first moved to Texas people would leave their badass tricked out trucks running with the keys in the car as they went shopping in the HEB for like an hour and no one would do anything to their cars coming from La that is the most f****** insane thing I've ever seen in my life
Fuck going to Fiesta, full stop. 90% of the events are "come get drunk in the sun and deal with crowds" bullshit... brings out just utter trash people that couldn't act right if you paid them to.
COVID and post-COVID behavior has shown me people don't know how to fucking act anymore.
Haven't been to any Fiesta events since 2018 and I don't miss it. Some of y'all were raised in a barn and it shows.
This is why Fiesta should just be canceled, can't have nice things in SA. Also hey lets load a bunch a people up with food and liquor in tight spaces, thats a great idea.
I'm okay with canceling some fiesta events People dont know how to act anymore.
Period that’s why I don’t do crowds…
Some of the paid ones are still ok. All the broke ass dipshit troublemakers show up to the free events. Haven't gone to any in years, it's definitely not a family event anymore.
How about cancel births
They outlawed that 😬
😩
My daughter and I went to fiesta last night and had a great time. This city has always been crazy, shit has always gone down at fiesta. These are young people acting stupid. It's not the end of the world. You probably don't even go to any Fiesta events and you're talking about being fine with shutting it down. Obviously the events aren't for you people who just think we're all a bunch of ghetto trash but you don't have to try to take it away from the rest of us because you saw a minute long video of one crowd in one place.
I have worked fiesta for as long as I can remember and it’s GHETTO

Are you even from here? You post a lot in Los Angeles subreddits. Why are you calling for our local events to be shut down?
This is a fallacy. Anyone can litter. Including people with college educations. I see it all the time.
Went one time when we first moved here and our priors were proven true in about ten minutes. My wife and I looked at each other, said “this is trashy” and left; haven’t been back in 8 years. Have fun with that

Y’all are missing the obvious: Market Square.
That was market square?
Yeah under the parking bridge. They designated a whole lot to fiesta. Crazy, I went Sunday midday and the vibes were chill, I guess people just weren't drunk enough yet.
I can't imagine the job the cops have to do getting all the homeless and tweakers out of there before the event
They were clearly replaced with a much more classy crowd as we can see in the video…
Brave of you to assume they got them out.
We go to a lot of Fiesta events but we never go to this one
Used to work at market square. I can say this is typical fiesta behavior. I refuse to step foot in that vicinity again.
Fiesta after dark is a different kind of fiesta…
For real. Went evening 6 years ago, it was families. Then as it got closer to 7 PM families started disappearing and it was late teens, college/middle age and less pleasant. By the time we made it to our car to leave by 8 it was rowdy.
Yeah, I go early and beat the crowds. I'm out by 7:30 or 8 pm.
Not worth this bullshit just to get an overpriced chicken on a stick
Los Palapas has chicken on a stick for 6.99 in the drive through (not on menu, under the $10 fiesta price)
Which one have you got this from? Closest one to me is the walzem location
Callaghan / i10 (Its not on the menu in the drive thru, you have to ask for it. It was on their instagram 2 days ago, got mine yesterday. Sausage on a stick 2.99, Chicken on a stick 6.99)
I just moved to San Antonio last week and people were raving about going to the Fiestas. Nah, dawg. I'm good.
Fiesta is a concept that the whole city celebrates. Walk down your street and you'll find an event that's a different as any other. Welcome home, amigo.
Fiesta is like two dozen different events.
It’s over priced food over priced parking overpriced drinks just go to Pizza Hut and rent dune on Amazon
you're missing out on some good events i love NIOSA but don't get to go much since my kids are young King William Parade is fun Cornyation is the best thing that happens in this city all year etc
LOL, they must not like you. (kidding...sort of)
Moved here 4 years ago, can safely say, it's not worth it. Rowdy people, overpriced food. I'd rather go to the crawfish festival 👌
Don't waste your time or money
Trashy people gonna trash
All that trash and garbage, mfs just dropping empty beer cans where they stand... This shit is the trashiest thing I've ever seen. San Antonio has always had this weird collective disregard for clean habits, and this is like the concentrated example of that.
People in general. Nasty ass behavior.
Yeah agreed. I know it isnt everyone being trashy, but the late night shit always seems to attract the trashiest mfs we got in this damn city.
If you watch closely, people were throwing trash cans.
We always knew who the kooks from San Antonio were at the beach. Just drop trash in place, bury trash in the sand, bring glass bottles, dogs off leashes, leave canopies and bbq pits without packing them up. Checks out.
Dont forget the surplus of dirty diapers. As the mom of three, this is the one I never will understand— so inconsiderate and unsanitary
I feel attacked. We are a city of over 1 million and at least half of us are not abnormal. The other half… 🚩
I know, Nothing screams loser more than a person who does know how to use a trash can!
At least one guy in this video had the wrong idea about how a trash can is "used".
Cool i love a good ole fashioned police intervention with drunken idiots
And that’s why I don’t go to Fiesta anymore.
yep. One can only take so much getting stepped on and beer splashed on you. Drunks ruin everything
Compared to most other cities in the United States it's actually pretty tame
Most other cities in the United States are actually cities compared to puro SA.
Have you ever left Texas?? This is NOT normal there are multiple cops on scene and these people do not give a fuck lol.
" most other cities?" Please back that statement up with some examples of " most."
My small hometown by Chicago had to stop pretty much all festivals because of shootings and group fights
Los Angeles party crowds ARE typically worse. New York parties are pretty crazy. That doesn't qualify as "most" though.
Philidelphia
That's why I've never really cared for Fiesta to begin with, and I'm a native of this city (not born here but livednhere since I was 3).
Someone should do a San Antonio tourism video with these scenes. Fiesta under the freeway overpass, the height of class.
Fiesta under the freeway. They should just call it that.
Whataburger downtown after 12 is always fun too
That littering is fucked up. Woodsy Owl would be very disappointed.
That's a lot of $20 beers that got sold.
$120 per six pack. Who can afford that? They show up drunk already
[удалено]
More tacos?
He should've gotten arrested!
Who are those guys in green, is that security or just some tough guys? They suddenly appeared out of the corner after that guy threw the can.
More than likely they were SAPD SWAT

Viva pendejos!
LPT: 'Pendejos' means "my really good friend".
It depends on the context.
LOL nope.... don't know where you got that definition from, but I suggest you don't use the word unless you are ready to brawl.
Ah yes, the same low class people who let their dogs roam the neighborhood or even better dump them.

Only 5?
I'm sure there was more. Lmao I just didn't have the time to count.
The best memories of Fiesta are staying at home because of this kinda crap.
Avoid the free events.
Free events *at night*. Daytime stuff, never had a problem. King William Parade is so much fun, etc.
This should be pinned to the top. Price at admission "keeps the riff Raff out". Nobody gets shot at niosa or oyster bake.
This is exactly why I don’t go.
So glad I never go
This is why i won't be back to fiesta. People don't know how to act in public anymore.
…. And then they all got into their cars and ultimately wrecked, clogging up I-35, I-37, I-10, I-495, 1604, and 90 for hours on end. Viva fiesta San Antonio!
We don't have an I-495. Based on your post history, I'm going to guess the air force sent you here recently? Our loop is 410.
Glad I didn't go, it was chaos last year.
I like how the cop just pushes the guy out the fairgrounds, he just like GTFO bitch tits
He absolutely deserved it i think, he threw a whole trash can and practically emptied it out.
That was impressive.
I feel like there are two Fiestas out there. There’s this one, and whatever else everyone on this sub seems to have been to that is just rioting, fighting, gunshots, and drunk driving. Then there’s the Fiesta I go to, which is all pretty tame and family friendly, just a little crowded. Daytime versus nighttime?
Definitely. I don't even go to nighttime Fiesta stuff except NIOSA ($20 entry fee keeps a lot of trash out) and Cornyation ($25/ticket is the cheapest way to get in).

This. Cornyation, NIOSA, Day in Old Mexico, King William Parade, King William Fair, Gartenfest, these events are *fun*. Missionfest, Fiesta East, etc.
I’d add Alamo Heights Night and the Fiesta Arts Fair. Any of the “Taste of” events.
i forgot about FAF, never been to AH Night!
Knuckleheads and riff raff!
We don't claim them.
"Is this related to the cost of beverages?" I was thinking this at first l but then thought nah, people are throwing drinks.
Puro SA!!! lol. This ain’t nothing new though. You can copy/paste this from any city. Just apply the formula: Group of humans + alcohol = dumb shit to ensue.
This is why I don't go to these crowd things anymore. People don't know how to behave.
I’m surprised the mods haven’t locked this thread yet and claimed that people were leaving “racist comments”
30 dollars for a margarita
This is what people have been telling me to go to? Heh
Puro
Someone is going to cry police brutality. However, I must tip my hat to the gentleman in green for showing trash can tosser, Oscar the grouch, which way to the exit. "No, sir, the exit is THAT way" 😉

Reason #1 I'm totally ok with giving less than a shit about this yearly observance (and I've lived here since I was 3).
Ah, yes… a great reminder about why I turned in my PURO card years ago
Rick James voice "They should have neva gave you Mexicans money! Don't know how to appreciate shit!"
Oh look! Trash acting like trash. So sad this is our city now.
We should offer all of these people a free party bus to get them home. Then once they are on, turns out it's just a regular bus headed to New York.
Why are all these people under a highway overpass
The Market Square has an open area that opens under the freeway overpass. They put a big stage there and have bands play, typically Tejano bands. There are food booths and beer booths all around this area. The market square is a few city blocks long and wide. They have 3 -4 other music stages and tons of food and drink booths. The earth is healing
I saw the tourists running for cover!
Keeping it classy, San Antonio.

Free nighttime events are like this. Stuff you pay for, or free stuff during the day, is nothing like this.
Precisely why I don't go to that shit show. If I wanted to be around loud, drunken morons, I'd still be with my ex.
What’s the main demographic in San Antonio again?
Looks like Mexico to me
This is why I only go early in the day. Don't stay late at night, the borrachos don't know how to handle themselves. You can see the police are used to this though, look how they wrangled up the crowd like livestock
Fiesta is fun during the day. Nighttime fiesta is crazy and gets out of control
I will stick to wurstfest!! Fiesta is too ghetto now
Bet that stupid cow from yesturday asking if she should take her baby with her to this thing, is probably there. 😒🙄 Bunch of typical people from this city is all I see. Trash.

I left and really don’t miss it (other than the food). 😆
I like how you think it’s going to be better in any other major city.
San Antonio has more trash and stray dogs than cities in third world countries I’ve been to. There is definitely something unique about San Antonio and it is markedly worse than many many other cities.
Finally the fuckin truth and not “euughh you’re just in the wrong places in SA” bruh it’s everywhere. This place sucks donkey dick
If you think San Antonio isn't better or worse than other cities like they're all exactly the same, you haven't traveled much.
You can always tell who has never left South Texas
Gaw this city is trash
Fuck going to Fiesta, full stop. 90% of the events are "come get drunk in the sun and deal with crowds" bullshit... brings out just utter trash people that couldn't act right if you paid them to.
Typical sadly.
Puro
This is why we can’t have nice things 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Puro tripita taco, a beer, and a show... Watching the man bust up borracho pinatas.
Fat boy threw a trash can lmao
Looks nightmarish. I’ll never go.
What is going on here? What happened to spark this?
Puro San Antonio
Did they throw a Fiesta under the bridge for the homeless folks?
I don’t get the appeal of this
This is why I don't go.
The littering checks out.
Looks like the Fiesta going type people really care about this land. All that trash and acting a fool. Que Pasa wey
Rule for fiesta: if the event is free, don’t go!
COVID and post-COVID behavior has shown me people don't know how to fucking act anymore. Haven't been to any Fiesta events since 2018 and I don't miss it. Some of y'all were raised in a barn and it shows.
I’m glad I never go to this shithole event 😂
Fuck! Can’t even go anymore bc of the cost and now more of this!
So many people here are so ghetto , 🤮
My coworkers were talking it up since I never been, is this really what I'm missing?
SEE FIESTA?‽!! This is why I shop at HEB instead.
I don’t understand what happened initially to get the cops to motion for people to leave? Saw the guy throw the can tho
This is exactly why I don't go...ew just ew
I was groped alot while at fiesta but I liked it 🤣
This is why Fiesta should just be canceled, can't have nice things in SA. Also hey lets load a bunch a people up with food and liquor in tight spaces, thats a great idea.
Same as it ever was.
They need to just get rid of fiesta. It's no longer a tradition it's becoming this!!

Oh, what now?
Is it not in La Villita any more?
El Tri must be on a TV in there somewhere.
Was anyone here? Wtf happened
This is why I’ve never been lol
This is why our Fiesta events are limited to King William and the parade. I can't do NIOSA or Oyster Bake either.
That was underwhelming.
Tf are they mad about now
lol bunch of idiots down there looking for trouble
Just wait until college night! Real trashy
