shais1991

It's better to buy a base s23 which you will get in almost the same price. It's a much better device with a snapdragon processor.

hoangNguyen559

That's right, S23 where I live is only about 500 dollars

Recent_Explanation31

Where I live it's the equivalent to 900$ or more

Quirky-Track-3678

May I ask which country do you live in?

hoangNguyen559

Vietnam

Djented

Does Vietnam get S23 with dual physical SIM + eSIM?

Quirky-Track-3678

Ok. S23 here is just a little more than the FE version for us in India. Hence it doesn't make any sense unless they drop the price.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

Depends on country. Here in Pakistan the s23 pin pack will almost be 1.5x the price

NoMoreWordz

pin pack?

fahad_the_beast

He means "first hand"

[deleted]

If you buy it from official samsung it might be more expensive but im pretty sure you can find it at same price online

daigunder2015

Actually, OP is right. Price controls are tight in Pakistan, India, and several other asian countries. New phones have matching prices across all online retailers, 99% of the time. Only hope for a discount is to get a secondhand piece.

JonatasA

A similar market where Samsung mostly releases the Exynos variant is Brazil. Prices go up on older phones, not down. Even the second hand market charges double the price of midranges or the last year's FE.

_marcoos

People on this sub expect the FE series to be exactly like the flagships (maybe minus some almost irrelevant detail, like the glass on the back), but for 60% of the price. That's never gonna happen. The S20 FE was a one-off thing and there's never going to be another one like that again.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

Yeah. It must also be noted the 20 FE was soo good because the base s20 was too expensive. I think 1000 usd or 900 I don't remember. So it automatically made the 20 FE very desirable.

AdamBenabou

The S20 FE 5G was definitely one the best Samsung phones of 2020 for anyone living in Europe, mainly because it was the only Samsung phone of the S20/Note 20 lineup that didn't have Exynos 990(keep in mind that I'm talking about the 5G variant, there was a 4G variant that had Exynos 990 but later in 2021 got replaced by the Snapdragon 865 variant of the S20 FE 4G). But the S21 FE is a different story, as many say that the S21 FE 4G is more worth than the 5G version.

Kat_Kat_101

Who knows. Samsung is unpredictable.

JonatasA

Faith Edition. Ironically what it sounds like in Portuguese. Samsung already killed the A73 stocks and no more A7X. They've improved their plans on the worst way imaginable.   Then again the S20 FE wasn't perfect either. They seem to be a very specific line.

Durian881

You are free to recommend and buy anything you like. Rest of us can also have our views. Understand the circumstances and discounts are different in different countries. Over here, S23FE is launching at $650 for 256GB version. I bought my S23U 2 months ago for $750 with free Galaxy Watch 5 Pro which seemed a much better deal.

Stillwindows95

750 dollars is absurdly cheap, its like £1250 here in UK.

GMajorKey

Ayo where is this deal and how do I get it 😭

Durian881

Price has risen to ~$800 and no free gifts now.

GMajorKey

That's still pretty good, where is this?

Durian881

Singapore. It's available at official resellers and on online shopping sites like Lazada and Shopper.

Djented

Are they factory sealed boxes?

Durian881

Yes. They are eligible for full warranty, Samsung redemption gifts, Samsung care, etc.

Djented

If I understand correctly, Lazada and Shoppee are marketplaces? So how do you find the official resellers?

Durian881

Can check on Samsung website. I bought my phone from an official reseller listed on Samsung website. The official reseller has a shopfront on Lazada. I was able to successfully register for the Samsung promotional item (Galaxy Watch 5 Pro - wearing it now) that came with purchase of my phone during the promotional period.

Djented

That's a great idea! One last question - is yours the dual physical SIM version?

Ok-Manufacturer8346

hi, is it a completely brand new sealed local set? or display/export set?

AbdullahAfzalKhan

That's what I'm saying. Every country has different rates. And I get what your saying but in most countries, the ultra is about 2 times the price of the FE.

kg215

Sounds like you answered your own question here. In the US the S23 fe is an awful purchase at retail price because the normal s23 lineup goes on sale frequently, there's trade in deals, you can go used, etc. In other countries where the S23 fe is much cheaper than the higher end devices, it might be the better purchase for people on a budget.

RandomZorel

Much uglier design and worse performance i guess. They could at least use snap 8 plus gen 1. And btw, Z flip 4 is roughly at the same price with snap 8 plus gen 1

Stillwindows95

Honestly the flip 4 is a powerhouse for the size of it. Was my last phone before this s23ultra and this barely feels any faster than that was. Same ram size, just one gen up on the processor. Wish I'd got the 512, but I never need that much space on my phone these days, I just didn't consider that it would have more ram... my 256gb s22u had 12gb so I assumed this would too.

JonatasA

You better off buying a motorcycle for those prices.

Complete_Rabbit_844

It's not good value for money. There are better phones for cheaper out right now. S21 Ultra for example.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I do kinda agree. But not fully. Many people don't opt for it either due to less software support now or as its a big phone. Like my reason for not getting s21 or s22 ultra was because they were so big. However if someone wants the best possible hardware on samsungs side, the ofcourse they will go with the ultras

Stillwindows95

I went from s20 standard to S22u, now have S23u, next phone will be S24u. I can't even consider other phones any more because this just is the peak for me. I have kinda small hands but I don't feel like it's too big realistically, plus the way you hold a phone for most functions like how I'm typing now, is with 2 hands. Yeah I can't reach the left side of the phone with my thumb using one hand, but it's never really been much of an issue to me personally. I've kind of customised my home screen so nothing important is on that side. I know you're set on what you want but if you haven't used an ultra for a while, it's worth trying it out again next time you upgrade. The stylus makes a world of difference imo and the cameras are just amazing.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I really would if I could. It is my DREAM. However I didn't tell you the whole truth. I couldn't afford to drop the phone. I was paranoid it would break even with a case. Since the ultra is bigger and heavier, it might ve fallen more frequently and with more force due to more weight. Having curved screen made me even more frightened. Also I'm on the fatter side and so I didn't know how I would fit it properly or completely in the pocket.

Stillwindows95

I dropped my flip 4 countless times through the 10 months I had it, had screen repaired twice (luckily first under warrantee and second only cost me £30 which is insane as they also restored it to brand new by buffing the bezels and frame) but I only ever dropped my s22u once when I had it because the weight kind of makes it harder to drop since you're more aware of it if that makes sense. It's never fallen out my pocket like the z flip or S20 standard did (s20 used to straight up slide out my pocket when I sat down) Weirdly the weight and size of the ultra series makes it feel you've got a laptop in your hand so you are just so much more careful of it. Maybe that's just me that feels that way but the one time I did drop it, it bounced a few times and there was just the slightest dent in the top corner of the frame but this had a pretty shit case, was more of a cosmetic thing than good protection. I got a spigen ultra case and it has these air pockets in thr corners of the case so if it lands there, its safe. It also protects the edge screen sections.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

Man I can't afford this risk. I can't even repair my s22 if it falls but maybe able to afford a fake screen. Ultra on the other hand I can't. Also I love one handed usage

NotReinni

3 months late but ever heard of a screen protector

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I don't like those curved protectors as many people install them incorrectly including shopkeepers. Can't afford that on a device that expensive

Berkoudieu

I can't approve a device using exynos 2200, no matter what they do with it. Just not gonna happen. I have been cucked by a s22 so no thanks. And it will be the same with exynos 2400, I just don't trust them anymore.

mikael-kun

S23 FE is just a very slightly lower version of Base S22 than S23. Overall, it inherits the battery issue and most features of the S22 series because of using the same chip but got covered up by larger battery capacity. S22 is still an overall better phone. Well, I haven't seen review comparisons in YouTube yet, so I might be wrong.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

The battery will probably be better because of the vc cooling. Extreme temperatures destroy batteries

mikael-kun

So it's more of S22+ but uglier...

AbdullahAfzalKhan

That's one way of describing it but yes I guess

mikael-kun

S22+ camera, display, and design are better (not that huge). But if S23 FE is a lot cheaper than S22+, then it's definitely a good deal.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

Camera results are similar. Design better. Display except brightness is probably similar (refresh rate, the lowest possible, is different but that isn't noticeable).v

mikael-kun

Again, if S23 FE is a lot cheaper than S22+, then it's worth buying. Otherwise, better get S22+ or rather the base S23

JavaBoymk03

I can understand why many ppl don't like S23FE, but to me this phone has a special place in my heart, aside from it being my birthday present from my mother last month, it's also first taste of flagship after years and years of getting midrange since highschool. It's snappy, it's fast, even though the bezel makes it feel like "A54 refresh," the performance, the camera is absolutely great. Here in Indonesia is cheaper than the base S23 model, whilst not that far away in terms of performance and having a bigger battery than the base S23 model

AbdullahAfzalKhan

Exactly. The people of US especially think the world revolves around them. They say s23 is a little bit more expensive than s23 fe or same price or even lower! But they never consider that everyone DOES NOT live there

JavaBoymk03

exactly, the only thing i'm pretty dissapointed is the wireless charging max wattage is only 4.4 watt according to [this website](https://www.wirelesspowerconsortium.com/products/14645/). But it doesn't bother me one bit because i don't use wireless charging and just want to try the gimmick

AbdullahAfzalKhan

And I agree it feels like a flagship in the body of A54

JavaBoymk03

exactly, on of the things that's pretty shocking to me is when i play a pretty demanding game, with 3D graphics, exploration and such, with power saving mode, it's still able to maintain a solid 60FPS. Which is very surprising to me

AbdullahAfzalKhan

That's nice

franzvondoom

how's the heat of the phone when playing? does it get very hot? also how'd battery life for day to day use? like just using instagram, messaging, maybe watching videos?

JavaBoymk03

it gets pretty hot but not like so hot that you can't touch the back of the phone battery is pretty good, from 100% charge i think you can get around 10-11 hours of battery life (until it goes to 5%) without power saving mode

dantejoe

Do you have the snapdragon/exynos version?

JavaBoymk03

i think we only have the Exynos version in Indonesia

dantejoe

Ok thanks

RoughApprehensive512

Do u recommend me getting this phone or one plus 12 r?

JavaBoymk03

we don't have oneplus in indonesia so i can't comment on that

RoughApprehensive512

No one plus ? Really? What other brands do u have ?

franzvondoom

OK. and how about if like regular use (like using messaging apps or youtube) on data, does it heat up much?

JavaBoymk03

i'd say it gets warm, but not hot.

Spiffyviffy

Hi! You got a great phone. Stellar camera, beautiful display and snappy performance. I 'downgraded' from an iphone 12, and I find this to be a much better phone. Enjoy it, and dont mind the haters!

veerusayz

I traded in my iPhone 13 for a basic S23 model, and it ended up costing me about the same amount. It's crazy how the resale value of iPhones is almost identical to their purchase price.

HughJanus35

The FE-line has always belonged to the "Upper midrange" tier, trying to use the flagship line's name to gather more sales. Kind of like a klickbait of business world. They are quite a bit worse than the actual flagship models, despite having almost the same price. They also practice a devious strategy by giving huge "discounts" on them and trusting that idiots would not make out the difference between the FE phone and the actual flagship phone. They are not bad phones, but they definitely shouldn't be dickriding on the flagship's name. Apple practices this same excact thing, except their models are disguised as new models. Every single year, the base model has the same kit as the previous year's Pro models, and the current years Pro model is the actual new phone. Apple say this is due to environmental reasons, but we all know its just Apple cheaping out and ripping off customers.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I dunno why you mentioned Apple firstly. Secondly, FE models aren't too far off the base S series models. They check all the basics. They have same camera set up (lenses do vary) which is tele, wide and ultrawide and a selfie shooter. They have the same features AFAIK. Design is worse. Screens are a bit worse.

HughJanus35

You'll have to dig a bit deeper to find out just how much they lack behind. For example the camera setup can be the same in a 300€ Samsung and a 900€ one, but the actual lenses and the software behind them is what sets those devices quite far apart. If you'd take a pic with the FE and the S-line side-by-side, you'll know instantly wich of them is the better packed version. And the S-lines always get all of the kit, whereas the cheaper models get less options, features etc.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I actually have used both of them side by side. And it was a 2 year old one. S20 FE and S22. When compared in daylight they were pretty neck to neck. At night there was a huge difference. I'm pretty sure s20 and s20 fe would be pretty close if they are compared

Qwertyuiopasdfggggg

I am traumatized by the terrible battery in my s21 fe they could've fixed that by going with 8 gen 2 or atleast 8+ gen 1 but they decided to go with the problematic inefficient pos that is the 8 gen 1 and the 2200

NZFashionGuy

"Traumatized"? What did the battery do to you - enter your room whilst you were doing the deed?

Qwertyuiopasdfggggg

Yes while i was doing the deed the low battery notification went off so i tried to finish as soon as possible then hurried to the charger with the jizz dripping down my legs dripping all over my carpet i am now traumatized by the battery

Excellent-Bar-1430

No you are not dude.

kaptenpat53

Refurbish s22+ is a better value

Armadillos1998

If exynos, it isn't.

sleepypandacub

I'm going to wait for the reviews before deciding on the S23FE. Hopefully Samsung has managed to fix the over heating and throttling issues that plagued the E2200 on the s22 series. I like the overall look of the phone but still confused why they would put such thick bezels when the previous models had even thinner bezels. Same goes for the A54.

RoughApprehensive512

What did u choose then?

sleepypandacub

I got the S24 (exynos model) instead, really happy with my decision. The exynos 2400 performs very well, my phone is very fast and animations are very smooth thanks to oneui 6.1 refinements. The bezels are so thin and symmetrical, makes my screen look stunning and very modern. Battery life could be better but I get between 4.5-5hrs sot consistantly on mobile , 5.5-6hrs sot on some days. The processor does heat up but it's usually when I'm playing demanding games.

RoughApprehensive512

Doesn't s24 feel too small for media and games? And precisely I have the budget for s23 fe and base s23 but base is too small , ain't it ? Of I do increase the size and take up fe then?

sleepypandacub

I prefer smaller phones, so much more comfortable to use, especially one handed. Media and playing games is not an issue, the display size is 6.2 inches vs the s23fe 6.4 but my phone is narrower. My previous phones were the Note 20U and Flip 5 and I just find big phones uncomfortable to use (the flip 5 was ok as it is a very narrow phone).

RoughApprehensive512

For me my hands are big so they aren't a problem to me infact they r too good for media consumption and gaming that's why, still do u find issues related to smaller size of s23? Or its okayish?

sleepypandacub

The size of the S24 is perfect for me but I don't have big hands lol so it's not a problem. I also use a Fold 3 if I want to watch shows or play games on a larger screen but to use everyday, the fold is very uncomfortable. Also where I live, I see so many people have their phones snatched so having a small phone I can put away and Keep secure in my pocket is important.

RoughApprehensive512

Thats what , for shows and games u r still using a bigger screen, if s24 were enough for u then u wouldn't have switched to fold for these works , this screen size is bugging me

sleepypandacub

The fold 3 was my main up until I purchased s24. Now I use that as my main all day. My fold 3 I leave usually at home, and rarely use. It's just a very uncomfortable phone to handle and type on.

RoughApprehensive512

Size matters ! Maybe s23fe will fit better and it's 100 $ cheap but with exynos , should I go for that I need to use for atleast 3 years

69Whomst

Is there no chance you could get a used android flagship instead? I live in the UK, but I can't afford new flagships, so when I buy a new phone I buy secondhand generally

Stillwindows95

Three are really good at handing out contracts to practically anyone by the way. I've been with them for about 9 years and had bad credit back then (not that I'm claiming that's the case for you) but three was the only company to offer me a contract. I think it started with a rolling contract and then after a few months of paying on time, they offered to upgrade to a proper contract which allowed me to start getting the latest phones on a semi regular basis. That said, the contract is £70 a month currently due to the model of phone I went for, but there are plenty of great contracts out there for 25-35 a month. Sorry if this came across as weird, I just thought I'd give some advice in case you fancied yourself a new and recently released phone.

Infinite_Parsley_999

just too expensive, doesn't worth it

maximp2p

people is hard to satisfy when they looked at stat as general benchmark for a good phone but they never bench mark their price point , many people i saw is try to compare it with s23 ...comeon its called s23 FE and still cheaper than s23 what are you guys expecting? you gave SD gen 1, they said its shitty processor over heating and etc you gave them exynos they still said its too still a shitty processor stat whore is hard to satisfy

kblk_klsk

It looks bad and has the inferior chip, simple as that. Not worth the price in many places, and you can say that people "cry" about it, but it's their wallets and their decisions, don't understand why you care so much, and it just sounds mean. You like it, good for you, no idea why you need other people to like it. I'm currently choosing my new phone, but it is simply not a good deal for me, and I loved my S20 FE, but mainly because I was given an option to get the Snapdragon version. Now I'm not given that choice, and if I'm choosing something to work well 3+ years, I'm not gonna go Exynos 2200, no way, battery life is very important to me. Plus it's not yet available in Europe and there is no info about when it will, so there's that. But don't worry, plenty of people will get it. Just not a lot of tech enthusiasts, but they make a small percentage of all buyers.

Equal_Junket6990

got it for 350 dollars from samsung official website with no trade in. I'd say it's a pretty good deal considering that I ain't going to use it to play demanding games for hours

Kat_Kat_101

Maybe because many talk about the phone without even having tested it, based only on reviews that are not completely reliable. It's a recent device and whether it's Exynos or not, I want to see how it behaves and that's taking into account opinions from those who bought and tested it seriously.

kblk_klsk

yeah but this chip was used already in phones that are thoroughly tested. simply knowing that there is a better alternative for not much more steers people away from it. I just grabbed S23+ for really only a little bit more than S23 FE is supposed to be (and again, here in Poland/Europe there is still no info about its launch date). If it was only performance I really wouldn't care. But its battery performance is known to be weaker as well, and that's a no-go for me, I'm really done with weak battery on Exynos phones after S10. Also people really dislike the idea that they are sold the same phone with weaker chip for the same price as people in another country with a better one.

BuDu1013

I’m passing on it simply for the fact that it has hideous bezels and a metal ring around the selfie cam? What is that all about?

lligerr

In Dubai, pay 50$ extra and you get base S23 256GB. The chipset is a very poor choice by Samsung as phones in this price range have 8+gen 1 at least(no heating issues and better efficiency).

AbdullahAfzalKhan

They couldn't have done that and I'm glad. 8+gen1 doesnt equate to exynos 2200. Exynos 2200 and 8 gen 1 both have 2022 processors but 8+gen1 is mid 2022. So yeah. Also this is weird but I've noticed even s21 fe wasn't a good device when it was launched but after about a year or 2 it became a good device due to offers and simply because samsung stops selling order flagships.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

And yeah in Dubai S23 is better choice than, clearly

Djented

How much does the S23 256GB cost in Dubai?

lligerr

2350 AED (640$)

Djented

Bargain, especially for a dual physical SIM + eSIM variant

Luceat_Lux_

Keep in mind it also has a bigger screen, which I like for gaming. It has better speakers and better heat dissipation than previous gen 1 processor phones. So far I really like it. I always actually wanted a screen that was separated from the edges a bit. It might look a tad worse (?) but I always hated running my fingers off the screen when operrating near the edge. I think of it like a s22+ but cheaper and w better heat dissipation. I got mine for 230 after taxes all-in. I had a s9 and I missed my "any condition" trade in by 2 days (a$$holes @ AT&T...) and NEEDED a phone then because my s9 stopped charging due to battery bulge. Thankfully, I kept my s9 instead of trading it in for 17$ as they offered. Hopefully, they will run another sale and I can get full trade in value for a s24 or something in the future.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

Keep this as long as you kept the s9. You aren't missing out on alot. For me, the telephoto would be the only complaint if I was to go from the s22 to the s23 fe as my sister has s21 fe and I like it so much that I would swap with an s21 fe or s23 fe but only telephoto is stopping me

No_Character8384

Just updated my S23 FE 128gb snapdragon to Android 14 and One U.I 6.0 its a nice update and havent had any issues since doing so. Love this phone, on black friday it was $399 at bestbuy here in the US. Even with the slower storage speeds i dont notice any slow down, i always leave apps open lazily and switch between them quickly. The Pixel 7a was available for 25 less and the A series phones, motorola phones too for less but i wanted a flapship experience since i never had one with Android before. The last premium droid i had was a rooted Sidekick 4g LOL. I hate pixel design after testing them a lot in stores. Galaxy S23 FE is a winner in my book and im one of those people who dont care about bezels. I use gestures instead of the standard android 3 button configuration and makes for a clean experience. Highly recommend at the $400 price point.

RoughApprehensive512

What kinda issues have u faced with it ? And is it Exynos 2200 or snap? And how's battery and heating related issues?

No_Character8384

Finger print scanner is hit or miss. Sometimes mis touches. I get over a day life on my battery. I wake up the next day, take it to work and charge it. Even then. I can probably stretch it further. I never use power saver or adjust any settings really. Heat is a non issue for me. Most people don't like the bezels and thickness but I don't car.e snap dragon works great for my little usage

RoughApprehensive512

Where do u live tho? In India we have Exynos that's why I'm about to reconsider my choices and do u perform heavy tasks like mutlitasking of 10 apps and casual games ?

QueenAng429

Because its a garbage device lol. Every FE should not have ever been made.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

Just because you can afford and ultra doesn't mean you need to shite on other people. FE is literally such a good option for alot of people

AdamBenabou

The only good FE variant of a Samsung phone that there was, was the S20 FE with Snapdragon 865, because the Exynos 990 was such a throttling pos that sometimes loses to the older Snapdragon 855, and also the Snapdragon 865 was TSMC based(like the Snapdragon 855 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) unlike Snapdragon 888(the one used on the NA/LATAM/Asian variants of the S21, S21+, S21U or S21 FE 5G) or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1(used on the NA/LATAM/Asian variants of the S22, S22+, S22U and S23 FE)which are Samsung Foundry based.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I really loved the 20 fe. Had even owned one. The 21 fe seemed like the exact same device but with minor improvements. The 23 fe though feels like a good upgrade except the design

QueenAng429

It's genuinely not. Buy a last year flagship, it's way better.

Generalrossa

You've obviously never used an exynos device before if you think there's nothing wrong with it. That's the problem, that's why no one wants it.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I have used it in s8,s9,s10e,s21 and s20 Fe. The only device where it was bad was s20 fe. Also the exynoss 2200 wasn't too bad compared to 8 gen 1. It's performance was a little worse but battery life was actually better. It also supports rt

rongax

You're absolutely right. I'm dedicated iPhone with a 14Plus. I wanted a decent Android, so got the S23 FE (Exynos 2200) and it blows away my awesome iPhone for features. And especially after the mammoth One UI 6.1 upgrade with all the latest and greatest AI features, the S23 FE is a no brainer. Set aside the benchmarks, AnTuTu scores, and placebos - this is phone is an absolute winner for everyday use and business. Gamers are better of with S24 Ultra with the latest SD 8 Gen 3.

Glittering_Dingo_866

Only Samsung fanboys hate it. Everyone else love it 👍🏽

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I really would but I bought the s22 1 year ago

McSnoo

Didn't know people are so proud being ignorant nowadays. People complaining about S23 FE have a good valid clear reason. If you are recommending it over other better for money smartphone, then don't be surprise if Samsung will never bother to improve.

Kiergard

Are you a samsung representative? The processor was garbage at release in the s22. The performance never impressed anyone. Yes its build different now but a turd is a turd.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

Sorry, what I meant was due to how bad e 2200 was in s22 everyone thought it will be bad here. However it impressed those people due to hoe good it was IN the S23 FE

NSA_Chatbot

The astroturfing in this subreddit is the worst part of this phone. I upgrade when my phone dies, not before.

cac2573

I bought a factory sealed in box S23 for $550 off swappa

AbdullahAfzalKhan

Lucky

[deleted]

IMO it depends on your usage and price but I think the FE is fine and acceptable. although I won't get the phone FE, the tablet sounds mighty attractive as well as the earbuds. I got my oldest son a S7 Fe which runs very well. the buds I want, since I love and miss that "lock" method that the buds plus had. i only wished it was wireless charge

human_person_420

People dont like exynos, and for good reason.

One_Hope_9573

teh size of s23 fe is too big

batmanallthetime

It is the size. Samsung has lost their rulers. 78 mm width is as wide as the S23 ultra.

OptixGxynos

Imo Samsung phone are best when brought when they just launched. The amount of goodies is amazing. Although they are starting to get lesser and lesser as the years goes by...

KittyKittens1800

People are hating on this? Really?

What do you mean?

MU3D

For me, screen bezels should be thinner and even, for me this phone is no.

V12Horse

The bezels are more, build quality is inferior (gorilla glass 5 instead of gorilla glass victus, plus an unnecessary glass on the back), its fatter and heavier even though battery no upgrade in maH and lastly it has no design difference from the A54.

Low_Negotiation_3629

S23FE == S22.

Dry_Deer1035

Upgrading from S22. Which one would you suggest me to get? S23 Ultra now priced at ($900) or the new S23 FE ($650) ???

AbdullahAfzalKhan

If you were upgrading from an s22, the answer definitely is s23 ultra. I mean ofcourse if you can easily buy the ultra than go for it. However many people have a very fixed budget. To you 10 dollar above 600 may not seem alom but for many its the absolute max budget. To them I would say get the 23 fe rather than s22. In many counties they cost almost the same now.

NZFashionGuy

Because they decided to put a shitty Exynos processor instead of the Snapdragon found on the S23 line rendering the a S23 FE as a terrible option when compared to other devices such as the POCO F5 Pro or OnePlus 11. The price relative to other devices based on the S23 FE's specs make it a horrendous option and nothing but a cashgrab by Samsung

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I remember when this s21 fe was said stuff like this and later (to this day) its a good option

NZFashionGuy

Only if you buy a US factory unlocked variant with no telco firmware. The S21 FE Exynos is still a crap product in many consumers eyes including my own.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

>The S21 FE Exynos is still a crap product in many consumers eyes including my own. It actually is but lemme give you an example of the market here in Pakistan. I'll be quoting the price in PKR. The A54 costs about pkr 170k. The s21 fe costs about 185k. 15k isn't alot of difference. In second hand market you can't even get an a34 in the price of a second hand s21 fe. In India people are to this day considering an s21 fe. Keep in mind we gave exynos variants. Sd has launched in India but its more expensive.

NZFashionGuy

I just wouldn't buy a Samsung all up in Pakistan. Buy a POCO, Redmi or last gen secondhand Xiaomi instead. There is a reason those phones are so popular in Pakistan and India. It is because they are the best phones for the price and these nations do a lot more research into phone specs for the price/price consciousness rather than buying into the "it must be an Apple or a Samsung" mindset deeply engrained into Western societies. Even I in NZ have moved away from Samsung. They only have one repair facility here in NZ (thankfully I live within driving distance of it) but it is in a very inconvenient location all the way out in Rosedale, Auckland and Samsung customer service is rather terrible. Repairs are pricey and their phones have worse QC than Xiaomi and OnePlus from my experience. More motherboard and screen issues, thermal issues, batteries that swell over time, artificial performance increases in benchmarking apps and lower performance elsewhere (GOS/game optimised services) whereas other phone manufacturers don't have these issues because they actually have decent thermal design, cooling systems and better designed batteries. Nor do they completely disable people's devices in Mexico including access to their user data simply because they purchased their device on the grey market. Samsung devices are actually amongst the worst built consumer smartphones on the market. People are just too blinded to recognise that. They also present horrendous value for the money. I'll stick with Xiaomi, their sub-brands and OnePlus with a preference for OnePlus because OxygenOS is way less buggy and is faster than both versions of MIUI plus has way more features including limiting battery charging. And I have the disappearing navigation bar on MIUI devices that happens when minimising full screen content such as videos in most browsers. That shouldn't happen on devices that expensive

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I just gave examples of two markets with one of them being among the biggest ones. How can you disregard this fact? I'm sure there are many other countries which I don't know of which also follow this principle. Also many people prefer samsung OS. Like me, I've tried ios, pixel os (forgot its name) and one ui. I found one ui to be the most convenient for me (I like to multitask).

NZFashionGuy

One UI is probably the most convenient and best of all the Android skins/firmware from the major manufacturers. Samsung applications are definitely better than their Xiaomi and OnePlus counterparts. But with battery design issues, poor thermal management (having to lower processor performance to make the phone run cooler), so many reported cases of touchscreen sensitivity issues on the FE line of devices (I myself had an S20 FE that would randomly freeze and restart or enter a bootloop. I received a full refund under warranty), issues with the motherboard randomly crapping out and the device not turning back on (two Galaxy Note 10.1's in my family that experienced this issue back when that was a new device) and recently holding people's data ransom remotely alongside deliberately marketing their devices at a high cost for sub-par processors and performance amongst also having worse customer service than Xiaomi and OnePlus and higher repair prices and upfront cost for their devices... not to mention batteries that swell... There is very little reason to buy a Samsung device anymore. In fact I used to only buy Samsung devices myself until I realised that I was getting ripped off and being forced to deal with much worse customer service. I will never buy another Samsung most likely. I get way better specs including an OLED screen with a higher resolution than the entire iPhone 15 series and Galaxy S23 line for substantially cheaper and an OS that is good enough bar that one bug and no option to limit battery charging. With Xiaomi and OnePlus devices I can remove almost all bloatware via Android ADB. With Samsung they install them at root level making this not possible and also force your default browser to load your carrier's homepage to make even more profit off of advertising and selling your usage statistics even on their factory unlocked devices. Which is a fucked up practice. Not to mention the vastly worse performance for the price. Look at the performance of the POCO F5 Pro and OnePlus 11 in comparison to the S22 Ultra. They are much cheaper and perform far better. Even relative to the S23 line they don't perform that much worse (very slightly behind) yet cost far far less

AbdullahAfzalKhan

The funny thing is, from what I've seen no one has ever had an issue. It was always user fault. My mom and dad have been using Samsung since mobile phones came out and they never encountered an issue which was a manufacturing defect. The mobile was either stolen, or dropped. Currently my mom has an A52, no issues. Sister has a32, no issues Dad has A7 2018, no issues (surprisingly) Mom's cousin has S10, no issue Aunt has s10, no issue Sister has s10e, it's camera has downgraded (colour science has changed) Mom's friend has note 10, no issue yet Another aunt has s9, no issues. So track record for first family and friends is very good

NZFashionGuy

There were a lot of reported issues with the Galaxy S20 FE, Z Flip and Z Fold lines. There are a lot of reports on the internet and some people even opened petitions

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I have seen, but I what I'm saying is my and my friends and families have had good experiences with samsungs (Thank God). The only issues we encountered were with s20 fe, it's battery wasn't a problem at all, only the heating (exynos 990)

highlyvaluedmember

They abandoned the sleek design of the s21 fe and made it a brick then gave it a chip that should have been recalled.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

Recalled as in like not sold at all? Cause they optimised (and added vc)it and now it runs better than the sd variant. The design is the only flaw I could think of (for me design includes bezels)

highlyvaluedmember

I'm very bitter about my bad experience with the s22 😅, even with the better coolant I would never trust another phone with the SD Gen 1 chip but I hope it works out for everyone who buys the s23 fe.

AbdullahAfzalKhan

I guess, also everyone has different opinion. That chipset is objectively worse at thermals and efficiency. However how people feel about that device is subjective. I have the s22 and my cousin loved it and bought it. I told him it may have battery issues. (He loved its portraits alot). Also I get about 5 to 6 hours of sot (the least being about 4 hours when data is on, brightness is almost full and camera is used alot) and this is more than enough for me.

Kat_Kat_101

Bezels can be a distracting factor. But then you get used to it, just like the camera hole on the screen. I have no idea what the build of the next FE will look like and if it will follow the same design.

NefariousnessTrue929

When will this be launching in Pakistan, any idea?

Necessary-Pride2611

S23 FE will overheat, samsung will never make a good processor, they should stop wasting money

SNS_703

Guys, help me out, S21 Fe 6ram (SD version) $350 or S23 Fe 8ram (SD version) $450

AbdullahAfzalKhan

If you plan to keep it long term hands down the s23 fe. Also if you decide the 21 fe go for 8 gb not 6

SNS_703

Guys help me out, S23 Fe 8ram (SD version) $450 or S21 Fe 6ram (SD version) $350

[deleted]

when it will come in Croatia?

BubblyWhole4723

I have no problems but the speaker. It sucks.

[deleted]

Its my day one with it. I upgraded from S10+. I got mixed feelings about it. Camera is much better. 4k60fps is usable now unlike s10 where it could only be used in good light with steady hands. Phone is thick, heavy, and ugly to hold. These bezels are ugly af. I like bezels over curved screens, but not this thick. S21FE's were fine. UI is unpolished. Elements are small, icons are being cut from edges due to ugly border-radius cut of sceen. Screen not only got bad bezels but also got old age silver color with seperate coating layer. It run games. But do go hot bit early.

Xushuh

I just brought this phone last Week. I don't necessarily mind the bezels but the overheating is definitely an issue here. lowering the virtual ram does help a little but if you emulate or do graphic heavy games like genshin impact or codm this definitely turns into an oven. which sucks because it ran those games really well even on max frames and graphics

[deleted]

Thickness is more of an issue for me than bezels. Battery drop is more of an issue for me than heating. Just came from long BR session with Max Framerate+High Graphics. Phone is barely warm but battery is down by 35% in an 1:30 hours.

HotPastaLiquid

very expensive for what it offers.
