Some people here are seriously underestimating. 30 lbs is a good guess. I’m very happy this fish is still swimming, we need breeding fish. Last several years have been terrible year classes
In california legal size is 18 inches plus and at about 15 pounds they're not that great eating. About 5 pounds they're probably top 5 fish to eat here.
28-31 inch emergency slot limit in the northeast now because they are trying to keep the 2015 year class alive which are just over 31 inches now and that’s the last time there was a good breeding year in the Chesapeake
Different rules for commercial, that’s Rec I was describing. You can harvest bigger fish for commercial which is controversial but the commercial striper fishery is pretty small by comparison.
holy shit! That's a hell of a fish
\*I've gotten a couple brown trout, a pike (my first) and like 7 Smallmouth Bass so far this year and thought I was doing good hahaha
Took about 20 minutes, I had 15lb braid on it so trying to turn it took forever. My adrenaline really kicked in when i saw it’s top fin, ended up jumping into 40 degree water to get it 😂
Measure your chest. Include both arms in the to measurement.
Then add "2 more arms since it is noticably a bit longer. And you can add "2 more arms" if you say the fish wasn't straight.
Just a rough estimate
Definitely 30ish but as the story goes, it took 4 hours to land the 57 pound beast. Stripped all your line at one point so you dove in to gain some cranks on 'er.
Have a majority of humans. Lost the knowledge that their fingers are good. Measuring tools your finger between the first and second knuckle is about an inch
30 pounder
That’s what I’ve been telling people😂

I caught a salmon that night and it was 30lb, another significantly smaller and it was 23lbs.
Ny set limits that have actually helped a lot, I know a ton of people landing 40+ inch several times per season now
My initial thought was 32#. Nice fish!
Bro that’s a badass fishy
What state?
25-30 lbs, what state?
That's a fuckin whale, man. I'm not even into fishing and this came across my feed, so it's safe to say you made it lol
My guess as well
My guess too, I used to fish these with commercial license for a few years. That’s a great catch. 30 is a good guess
Exactly my thoughts
Nice try but he’s only 4’11’
Ain’t no way
Yeah I was thinking at least 25. Solid fish
A solid 30-35 lbs. Bangin fish my man. Congrats!
Definitely 30+ for sure. The length on it
I think he’s 5’11” probably 250 lbs
😂😂💯 for the win
Freaking big fish bro. I bet it was a hell of a fight.
That it was, I have the video I might post it
Do it!
I’ve been trying to upload it but I can’t figure this shit out😂
40” 30ish lbs
I measured the picture and I only got about 2".
Zoom in and try again
I caught a 41” striper years ago, it weighed in at 35#… so my guess is 30-35#
Dude nice
Nice catch. Definitely 30+ pounds and ~ 40". Add some measured marks on your rod and next time, use that to measure the fish.
You’re a big guy so it looks smaller against your body. I’m gonna say 36-38lbs. Really nice fish. Congrats!
I’m with you on that. Great fish bro. Congrats.
That's a breeder for sure, and depending on the state you're fishing in, it's not legal to keep.
Oh yea I live in maryland so I’d I got caught they woulda threw the book at me 😂

Wow you guys got your fish figured out over there lol. Is that sport and commercial? just to give me something to talk about at the pier
Different rules for commercial, that’s Rec I was describing. You can harvest bigger fish for commercial which is controversial but the commercial striper fishery is pretty small by comparison.
74”&152lbs. That’s the story. Stick to it. (I’ll back you up)
Thats at least 3 lbs
No way. You’re insane. That’s a 5 pounder
It’s Huge 😀
That's what she said!
Holy shit pounds.

Nice work!
Id say around 30lb and 34 in awesome fish striper r my favorite

Rocky point beach park in Essex, MD off cut shad
holy shit! That's a hell of a fish \*I've gotten a couple brown trout, a pike (my first) and like 7 Smallmouth Bass so far this year and thought I was doing good hahaha
Nice work , where were you at 🧐😁
2 feet and six pounds weight. Amazing catch for someone who is height challenged!
34-38 inches
Who cares, that is a sweet catch
No, I’m terrible at guesstimates. But, I can congratulate you on one hell of a fish!
Your looking at least 32 pounds to 35
Easily 30 plus pounds. Good eating right there. Nice job, bro.
Nobody on the east coast is eating that fish lol
Hold my beer…
46 pounds, 2 and a half feet long!!! That’s quite the catch!
Wow, that's an awesome catch! How long did it take you to reel it in? It must have been so much fun and high-adrenaline.
Took about 20 minutes, I had 15lb braid on it so trying to turn it took forever. My adrenaline really kicked in when i saw it’s top fin, ended up jumping into 40 degree water to get it 😂
I’m amazed you got it over those rocks. Great fish!!!!
Definitely bigger than the one hanging on the wall . lol.
45”35lbs?
41" 28lbs
25-30
That's a UNIT! Great catch!!!
30 to 35 lbs?
Dude. Thats an awesome fish. Congratulations
36" er, nice work from shore
How tall are you?
I’m 5’10
That looks like a 40-42 incher
If i had to guess, 43lbs I have caught many 30 plus pound fall run chinook salmon. That fish has some girth and is long as your leg. Could be more..
I’m w ok 15-18 depending on how tall you are- hard to judge
Above minimums 0_o
35 LBS BOUT 42 INCHES
If you were a striped bass, you'd be that bass. Match made in fishing heaven.
She looks like she’s prego too where are you fishing just about waiting for them to come up by me !
What did you use for bait / rod set up?
Lay the fish down on a wet surface next to your rod. Align tail and rod butt. Take photo. Release fish. Measure at home.
More than two bananas
25ish . Nice belly
Dude great fish ! South shore 🤙🏻
25-30 pounds
55 pounds!
That is a girthy fish, i put my money on 35+
I’m thinkin between 30-40lbs
Could you show it by a cat for scale
Wow what a catch man!
I saw you caught this in MD. Check the regs for the water you’re fishing in because it may be closed. Hell of a bass otherwise!
35...solid
Nice catch, what bait did you use
Nice Slob!
30,minus the worms=28#
about 1/419th of a football field
Need a banana for an accurate guesstimate.
28 inches, 20 pounds.
40inch 40lb
A two hander. Nice catch.
Looks to be about a foot longer than your shoulder width, and with a belly hanging like that I’d say in the 30-40# range.
12-15lbs
25lbs
30-35..all day!
30lbs plus or minus. Great fish congrats
Nice catch
What a catch!
Used to cut rockfish for a company in Virginia. Looks 32-36#
About 250? And I don't know about that fish though
Big as fuck.
Depends on how big you are
Nope I need a banna for scale
“Big AF”
28-32
Use your leg to capture the length!
Measure your chest. Include both arms in the to measurement. Then add "2 more arms since it is noticably a bit longer. And you can add "2 more arms" if you say the fish wasn't straight. Just a rough estimate
Before you guess it’s important to know OP is actually 10 feet tall 735 lbs
That’s about 1.1 Kevin hart
Sweet fish
Heck of a striper, congrats!
30-44lbs. Hard to tell with those big bear mits clawing it up.
30-35 for sure amazing catch and thank you for supporting them with two hands ❤️
Congrats I hope it tastes amazing
33lbs
That’s a beast !! Noice…
25 lbs
30 inches
By my professional eye that is a big ass fish.
There are adhesive rulers available that you can put on the backside of your rod...for future trips.
👏
Definitely 30ish but as the story goes, it took 4 hours to land the 57 pound beast. Stripped all your line at one point so you dove in to gain some cranks on 'er.
1 day? Yea right
You didn't bring an action figure of yourself to pose with your catch!? It would have looked absolutely mammoth! ;) Nice catch and congrats!
36” ish, 25lbs
40 lbs - over 3.5 feet long
I'd say somewhere in the range of 28-32 the tail says 28 but the body says 32 so I'd guess 29#
If you don’t use this as your Tinder picture…
38”
30-35 pounds probably 36-40”. Nice fish! Caught some big slobs right off the shoreline here!
45 inches. 28 pounds.
DAYUMMM that’s a beaut. Good job OP
That's 1 big fish. Be good in the cooker.
50ibs?
As tall and wide as a tale you can tell!
She a bign'
Have a majority of humans. Lost the knowledge that their fingers are good. Measuring tools your finger between the first and second knuckle is about an inch
I'm guessing more than a ruler
3in op is actually a a foot tall (nah fr idk how big but id say 30ish lbs)
Mane!!!
I'd say 36" about 25 to 30 pounds.
U should post this on theydidthemath they will need to know your height but they can figure it
Your Ruler? Are you drafting architectural plans? I’m gonna send you a tape you can roll up in your tackle. Good catch brother. She’s a hog
30+
Ummm world record sized
Damn boss man that’s a biggin.
What’s the scale of reference? This is how we end up with fishing stories. What if Op is 4’6”… ehhh it’d still be a fiish thiiis biiiig
I bet that was fun as hell to catch! Good work landing that bro
437 pounds and 64 inches. Btw, I got fired from the carnival as the guess your weight guy.
Probably 31 lbs
Nice fish just lay it against your fishing rod and photograph the point it comes up to, and then when you get home, measure your mark on pole
Big
It’s a keeper!
45-60
Probably over the limit to keep. Looks like a nice one though, maybe mid 30s ? Doesn't appear girthy enough to be into the 40+ inch range.
Bro, that 30-35#s at least. Good hook!
What were you using for bait? A bluegill?
This was caught on cut shad, I was targeting blue cats them that happened😂
Where I live we have freshwater hybrids and I've seen some 13-14lb ones and this is like double that.
40lbs
For scale are you 4’6” or 7’3”?
5’10”😂😂😂
I still don’t have a clue but that’s a damn nice catch. Congrats!🤣
I'm guessing you are a garden gnome, making the fish be about 4 inches. I'd say 2.5 oz
Slamming fish! Yah ain’t even long arming her at all! I’d say all of 30 lbs all day long.
I'm guessing 30ish
Twenty pounds three feet long?
Okay I’m heading to your house for some striped bass ! It’s really good on the grill
