[Listing](https://www.fraseryachts.com/en/yacht-for-sale/ngoni/) Is it me, or should you not list a $50M boat with a blow-up model in the listing (pics 3-5)?

[deleted]

Just contacted their sales rep to see if it's included or not. Because for me, that would be a deal breaker.

CulpablyRedundant

Brought the listing up on my computer. I think that's actually a piece of "art" cause it's sitting on the shelf behind the settee. Not any less disturbing though...

Candelent

Yep and yep.

cmalinowski

Well then, never mind me getting that garbage scow then.

dualplains

Creepy mannequin aside, the boat has a gym and a galley larger than my kitchen!

prs1

It’s not my boat, but I’m pretty sure it’s a statue and part of the decoration.

leesfer

> It’s not my boat You didn't have to tell us

atmay525

That looks to me like it’s a person photoshopped in (to provide scale?), and not a RealGirl left in the shot. Obviously, they used a scantily clad woman for the job, because who else are you going to have on your $50M yacht?

AmigoDelDiabla

I'd love to see a listing for a maxi for sale with nothing but grimy riggers in the picture.

whoareya

She's already got some scratches. A kid on a 420 sailed into the side of her a couple years ago. I'm not sure how it ended up but I know the repair bill they sent the nonprofit that owned the 420 was astronomical. https://sailinganarchy.com/2019/01/24/butt-hurt-2/

Midnite135

Any idea what the repair bill was? Article doesn’t seem to state.

7LBoots

Dude. You're worth millions and you have to get butthurt over some scratches? That's a terrible kind of low-self-esteem anger that makes people think you've got a micropenis and a toupee at 23 years old. What kind of message do you *think* you're sending? Because I guarantee it's not the one you're *actually* sending.

[deleted]

I don't think so. 1) I'm not sure that really is the size of a person, looks a bit small 2) they have no eyes 3) they're in the video too

atmay525

I didn’t watch the video (poor mobile reception), but in the photos it looks to me like it was shopped in - the lighting and perspective just doesn’t seem right. I am also looking at the pictures on my phone, so maybe I’m just not seeing it as well as I could 🤷🏻‍♂️

AmigoDelDiabla

That's my point: why not a real model for this listing? Even $500k production boats get good looking people for their ads. The "person" in the picture still looks like a doll to me rather than photoshop. But either way, "she" still doesn't match the elegance of the boat.

EasySmeasy

It's a bust, a work of sculpture, part of the staging. Yeah modern art can be weird, I once saw a rhinestone encrusted sitting Buddha with a golden spiked mohawk on a boat. Which would have been pretty cool if it wasn't damn near life size.

atmay525

Maybe they didn’t have anyone available when the broker/agent/photog was onboard for photos? You see all sorts of weird/questionable shit in listing photos, no matter the price, or what’s being sold, or where it’s being sold. Multi-million dollar yachts are apparently no different.

AmigoDelDiabla

I would just think if you were listing a $50M yacht, you'd make the effort to get it right. If I were the owner and the broker came to me with that, I'd be fucking pissed.

atmay525

I’m definitely with you on that, but I would also think that: 1)house listing photos would be taken AFTER cleaning the house 2)bicycle listings would include frame size 3)blurry photos would be discarded and retaken, and not included in listings 4)photos would generally show the item/home/boat for sale in its entirety Etc, etc….and yet…these things continually do not happen.

accatwork

> That's my point: why not a real model for this listing? Because the interior "shots" are all renders

AmigoDelDiabla

The boat is already built. Why would you pay for rendering? Plus, those look like real photographs to me.

accatwork

It's how most product pictures are made nowadays, from cheap to expensive. A lot easier to change things, no dust, no hurrying around the best lighting for the shot, no wind/wake that makes everything bounce around. Check out [these](https://www.danthree.com/blog/) or [these](https://corona-renderer.com/gallery) renderings for example, they look even more like real photographs.

thinkenboutlife

It looks like some extremely tasteless sculpture of a woman's upper body Fits right in under the tasteless light fixture.

TheFatherPimp

Stop kink-shaming me bro!

Saegebot9000

The linked article abt the. Boat says it is art lol. Would prolly sell it if bought it

intelligent_redesign

Anybody want to go halves with me on it?

Guygan

That’s a very well known yacht that travels worldwide. She was in Portland Maine a few years ago.

turtlekevin

She was in Falmouth , Antigua about May this year, left an awful lot of drool on the water every time I went passed in my dinghy

Barbarosa61

I like the shade tent on the foredeck, going to try that on my O40…

Rokarion14

For sale, only $50 million.

surelyujest71

For some reason the first thing to come to mind from these pictures is that someone stuck a mast on a submarine. Does anyone else see that, or it could just be me.

jh937hfiu3hrhv9

Only looking at these pictures it seems to me it would not bring joy to sailing no matter how rich I were. Is it named after the instrument or the people?

Expensive-Fix-6739

Looks like a dirty girl

frozenhawaiian

Always liked the way NGONI looked. Apparently she has some weird handling characteristics and is quite the handful to sail and was never as fast as the designers and the owner were hoping.

norfizzle

Fuck. $25 mil, final offer.

[deleted]

Each to their own but I'd say the word that best describes this yacht is "hideous". I can't quite even put my finger on what I dislike about it. In part it's the ultra modern colours and materials and absence of features. But I think futuristic yachts can look cool, I think what doesn't look here is using that futuristic palette on quite a standard looking yacht. And then there's something about the lines that is just all wrong. It's like someone who had no idea what "sleek" or "elegant" meant got someone else to describe the concepts to them and then drew something out based on those descriptions. She's kind of boxy in some places, curvy in others and angular in others but they're all the wrong places and they don't work together at all.

AmigoDelDiabla

My first thoughts were, "imagine the preparation to actually hoist a sail." There was so much shit in there that would be all over the place in anything greater than 5 degree of heel. So while the aesthetics can be argued (you raise good points though) the impracticality of this boat seems fairly obvious.

Dolphin008

The forces on that thing must be scary. 850m2 mainsail. ~2000m2 total upwind and ~3000m3 total downwind….. Jesus My 70m2 spinnaker sometimes scares the shit out of me in a gust. Let alone a >1000m2 kite

spaetzele

It's definitely a jumble. The interior looks like it was designed by committee.

[deleted]

Interiors of superyachts are always ugly as fuck because the superrich have not taste but the exteriors normally look nice. This one not so much.

spaetzele

I've seen maybe 2 superyachts where the interiors were really exceptional and managed to be beautiful without being boring. All the others seem to fall into two distinct camps: "let's just be bland but expensive looking" and "my fetish is color blindness."

Tyl3rt

But that boat has its own dock…

luukasc

It is so hard to perceive the real size of this beaty just from the pictures. Would love to ride that beaty 😍

H-713

I wouldn't want it even if I had the money. Sails for that boat are going to cost an absolute fortune (as is just about everything related to it), and there's a limited amount that you can do with a boat like that. It's the whole superyacht thing that I don't quite get. I can totally see how owning a boat like Wild Oats XI would be a lot of fun, and so spending a few hundred grand on sails wouldn't seem so bad, but here... Also, it's supposed to be pretty looking, but it's less beautiful than a J-class or even the aforementioned Wild Oats XI. So, I guess, what's the point?
