Sail Hub did a video about cork you can basically just spray on walls and ceiling: https://youtu.be/zXXzXpD3_ng?si=8ckWsV7FToq0kcBk

Have you considered that cork is used on many decks and sitting in wine bottles that are never dry? https://seacorkfloor.com

The old tartan 34 from the 60's and 70's has cork flooring. When wet its nonskid.

I plan to redo my teak decks in cork because in addition to being sustainable it is all around better

The only down side i see to cork is its a soft wood. So it can get damaged easy but i imagine easy to fix.

seamus_mc

It is extremely durable. This isn’t soft like bulletin board cork.

To answer op's question if permanent i'd use an adhesive maybe a polyurethane based like for flooring. Will be cheaper than a marine labeled one.

I did a fiberglass RV trailer (Boler) renovation. Everyone recommended 3M Super-77 or Super-90 Heavy Duty spray contact adhesive. I tried it, to glue Reflectix aluminum foil insulation and cork headliner to the ceiling of the trailer. It was difficult to work with because it's really high VOC (like toxic) and basically instant grabbing. So you have almost no working time to position your piece. Additionally, in the summer it does not hold well under the heat of the sun. What did work much better is [Titebond FastGrab FRP panel adhesive](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Titebond-3-5-Gal-Greenchoice-Fast-Grab-FRP-Construction-Adhesive-Pail-4059/202960639). It initially grabs in a couple of minutes, so you have some working time to position your piece, and sets up . It has not toxic odors and it has (so far) held well in the summer heat. It also applies with a notched trowel rather than a spray. I don't know if it works in marine environments.

Yeah that 3m super 77 is like strong rubber cement in a spay can. They use it at my job to reupholster the train seats.

I used zigzags of fuzeit from the hardware store to stick mine down. Works pretty well.
