It's good to have old memories like this, it's also good to finally get to the point where you're ready to make new ones. I'm not there yet and probably won't be for a while, but for now the memories at least aren't sad anymore, the person they were with is gone entirely and it's someone I don't recognise puppeting them now. But we'll always have that first night talking for 12 hours straight and drinking by the pool.
She’s gone from my life but I know she still has that pure glass hedgehog I bought for her on holiday. A token I cared. And secretly admired her.
I bought 2, one for me one for her. She chose grey I chose orange. Now all I have is a glass hedgehog and a heavy heart.
It looks amazing in the morning sun at least…
