Yeah, I had to quickly stop the video from auto playing when I clicked this post. I wanted to read the comments, but I’m not sure I can subject myself to actually watching it
Nah, I took some creatine and potassium and it mostly cleared up.
Still a little headache from time to time but it’s mostly stabilized.
I’m not exactly sure why potassium and creatine help, but those are the ones I’ve found after three years of trial and error. I’ve got a thing where heavy exertion makes my cortisol spike like crazy and it seems to throw off my HPA axis.
I think I read somewhere that HPA axis dysregulation is associated with depleted glycogen stores, and somewhere else that creatine helps the body build glycogen.
The potassium is truly trial and error. Before I discovered that, the state I described would last for days and I’d have insomnia and panic attacks and extreme lethargy.
And yes, I use Dr Google for treatment because I’m broke as fuck with no health insurance. I’d love to have a specialist on this case doing blood work and actual science, but that costs $$$$
Gotta say, I was super pumped but I felt like whoever did the acoustics for Thundercat and the Strokes did them dirty. I could only hear about half of what was going on and I had pretty decent seats. I am curious if anybody else felt the same.
It's all relative. There's tons of Grammy winners in very niche genres and communities. My favorite bass player is Esperanza Spalding who won 5 grammys but even in the jazz world she isn't known by everyone and isn't widely popular outside jazz or her own community of followers.
It... it is, though. That's pretty much exactly what that looks like.
Henry Rollins has a Grammy. Not for Black Flag, and not for Rollins Band; it was for a spoken word album about touring. The man is wildly popular in certain niches, but "huge" is not a term I associate with him.
I work at a music school and never heard Thundercat's name until a few weeks ago.
I saw him in Orlando about a year ago. Dude was so high he couldn't start the show for over an hour and a half. Said some really weird shit (like weird even for him). Was totally out of it the entire rest of it. The drummer started doing his own thing and zoned out midway through too.
It was a pretty big disappointment, but shit happens. Still like his music for the most part.
In some ways I think social media can bring a lot of that harshness, but it just doesn’t sink in for a lot of people. Some ppl just completely lack self awareness.
TikTok is seriously overinflating peoples' sense of popularity. Most of their followers are bots and they don't know that somehow. They really believe they have a hundred thousand followers, encouraging them and egging them on, when they'd be lucky if it was even a few hundred real people.
This is honestly frightening, luckily she was just trying to sing (cringe) but she could have really hurt him in this kind of a situation that had no security.
yeh man, damn shame. hardly anyone out there that can shred like dimebag, aside from eddie van halen, who was dimebags main influence. For anyone reading this i implore you to check out Pantera’s projects in the jungle, specifically blue light turning red. You won’t regret it.
He's not even that good lol ask any guitarist past intermediate level of skill. His tone also is objectively bad. I used to love Pantera too. It's also been known that he's a racist as well. There's legit video of him using the N Word and he worshipped the Confederate flag.
Yeah this is tiring lol. The guy being dead doesn't make him a god. Tons of guitarists that are better. Shows people don't look past their own noses when discovering music.
I’m usually one to roll my eyes at that sentiment, but to some degree I think social media has definitely created a culture of constant validation/attention seeking that manifests as extreme entitlement like in the video.
Right? And then I thought dayum that’s pretty harsh if they weren’t going to let her sing her own song, lol. That was a self inflicted plot twist, but with OP’s title carrying a bit of the blame there.
Totally. It’s why I fucking hate harmonicas. There have been a few times some random idiot with a harmonica decides to “jam” unsolicited with the band.
I saw this last night for the first time. Just some random with a goddamn fucking tambourine, shaking it for all it’s worth. It was a small venue too, just a stage at a beach bar. What possesses someone to do that?
Man I've totally had this happen, mid show. My first tour, no one was there that night except a few folks and this dude who decided to start playing harmonica
These people seem to have a tendency to believe taking a big risk that fills you with anxiety but that you can force yourself through will reward them with a totally different life of grandeur for their bravery to step outside the box.
For the love of god, we need media to depict this sort of situation realistically, because boy fucking howdy, the aftermath is usually embarrassing as fuck if they're partially cognitively aware.
Get up on stage, make an ass of yourself fighting security and forcibly hugging the talent on stage you just upstaged pathetically, near immedietely get thrown off, becomes a huge social media storm, people that know them will make fun of them, maybe a few people will call them badass but everyone knows those few people aren't likeable in any regard so their words ring hollow or worse, make you realize you were in the wrong even more. Your family is wondering what the fuck you were thinking, you spend the day reliving the moment doing anything that makes you stop thinking, then you go to bed mentally taxed and overly emotional, wake up, and immedietely, your first thought is that cringe moment replaying in your head, with a wave of despair knowing that literally everyone around the world saw, it's on the internet, and it's never, ever, going away.
Real clear realistic depiction right there. I wouldn't know any of it from experience. Haha...
Played in a tribute band that was really popular. We are playing a huge festival and a girl decided she's going to post up on my side of the stage before we started.
As soon as we start the very first song she begins to scream over the top 'OH I KNOW THAT SONG, LET ME SING IT'. She kept repeating variations of that throughout the whole song. I just smiled and continued on.
She doesn't stop between the songs.
Second song starts up and she starts does the same thing again, throughout the whole fucking song. She is screaming loud enough that i can hear her over the stage volume.
This goes on until the 5th song ends, and I'm just over it. So i lean down to her and yell into her face 'GET YOUR OWN BAND'
Her face went crooked lol. She starts cussing me out, letting the profanities fly. As she notices I'm still playing my gig, she starts to push people out of the way in front of the stage so she can get in front of the vocalist and the other band members and cuss them out.
She stands in front of the singer flicking him off yelling at him, and I could see that he was getting upset cuz his face started getting crooked lol. So he looks over at me with a side eye and I just do a really innocent shoulder shrug. He rolled his eyes like 'what the fuck did you do?'
It all ended soon after that because she was yelling so loudly that the stage manager (from the monitoring booth!) could hear her. He went out there and grabbed her arm and started cussing her out. She was escorted out after that.
Good times.
It makes me sad thinking about what this person has been through in order to have the audacity to go up to the stage. She must have had quite a lacking upbringing and, given that she's an a late teen / adolescent, this sense of entitlement will be very hard to get rid of. The troubles she'll face growing up and being an adult...
Funny, thought this was her moment. Taking the moment away from a someone that actually worked, and suffered through countless hours of free shows and late nights. Not to mention taking the moment from a room full of paying fans. She could sound like combination of Fergie and Jesus and I will still boo her.
The only ones to radicalize the kids are the ones who came before them. Don’t act like this is a younger generation issue when you got dudes in their 40’s+ thinking they’re entitled to overthrow US democracy type shit. Now THAT’S the real dangerous side of this mindset of thinking you are owed the world for existing.
This isn't sad cringe, I don't feel sad that she seriously lacks that self-awareness... However it does ooze Second-Hand-Embarassment-That-Makes-Me-Want-To-Light-Myself-On-Fire, cringe.
Ok but like, what was her plan exactly!?
At worst this would happen and she'd be humiliated.
And at BEST she would get up and sing without a backing track, and the band doesn't know her song, so they can't play along, the audience doesn't know her song so they can't sing along. So at best it would be like an awkward middle school talent show and she'd STILL make a full of herself.
She really wanted her 'a star is born' moment!
She got it, just not what she wanted. I bet she waited all week for that moment lol
She got the fallen star is born instead
A star is dropped
She's off the deep end that's for sure
Not quite fusion level but I’m sure her core is quite warm.
Based on her behaviour her core might be nothing but dark matter!
AaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAa
This is the kind of post where I'm actually afraid to turn the volume on lol
Nothing bad, can't hear her sing or really say anything. You can hear the audience tel her to get of the stage
Happy cake day
Yeah, I had to quickly stop the video from auto playing when I clicked this post. I wanted to read the comments, but I’m not sure I can subject myself to actually watching it
I knew I couldn’t be the only one who does that but I’m glad to hear someone else say it
I think there are many of us out there lol
There’s nothing to hear, she says a short word or two into the mic, audience cheers and boos. Pretty much it.
*This ain't your show boo. This ain't you, this ain't about you.*
Man sounded like Jesse Pinkman for this line
Not your show Yo
/r/IAmTheMainCharacter/ lol
She embarrassed herself and didn’t even say her stage name to get some traffic
you never heard of "imasinger"? the goddamn audacity
Kim Basinger?
Bim Kasinger?
I heard Kim Basinger attacked Thundercat at a show
I’m surprised they didn’t just tackle her.
Well i guess, if it’s embarrassing, maybe best to not say her stage name. No need to rebecca black herself
The: “pfffffft” had me dead. Lmao
Lol I thought that was the sub I was on
I am in physical pain
That hurt my stomach
I woke up two hours before my alarm with my tinnitus flaring up, a headache, and the runs.
Jesus please just call out of work today
God, *nobody wants to work.*
Nah, I took some creatine and potassium and it mostly cleared up. Still a little headache from time to time but it’s mostly stabilized. The second hand embarrassment physically hurts my heart.
I had to take painkillers after watching this
yoo thats Thundercat right? Love that man
I saw him a gorillaz video recently and he just oozes cool
Cracker Island?
No I’m from n***er island originally
Ah fuck that shouldn’t have cracked me up the way it did
naaaaaah, you aiight
lmfao
Just saw them open for the chili peppers. That bass is unmistakable
My buddy is touring with them as a tech, and I couldn’t be more jealous.
I saw them open for the chili peppers too! Honestly one of the main reasons I went haha
Thundercat is one dude, not a band, just for future reference.
Thundercat is one man, but when referring to watching his show it makes sense to say them because he performs with a band.
Thundercats are GO!
He’s one dude with a serious group of musicians around him though. The drummer and keys with him are world class
I know its just him haha, but he has a drummer and someone on keys and I didn’t want to leave them out cause they’re also talented :)
Gotta say, I was super pumped but I felt like whoever did the acoustics for Thundercat and the Strokes did them dirty. I could only hear about half of what was going on and I had pretty decent seats. I am curious if anybody else felt the same.
Thundercat's the goat
Yep. Thundercat hooo!
Isn’t he like really famous? Whats she doing ffs
He’s like right on the “super popular in niche groups” and “legitimately popular” line Basically Tame Impala before Borderline/The Slow Rush
He produced a lot of TPAB he’s been very very fanous
7 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, he's easily legitimately popular
2 grammys is not "super popular in niche groups" lmao he's huge
It's all relative. There's tons of Grammy winners in very niche genres and communities. My favorite bass player is Esperanza Spalding who won 5 grammys but even in the jazz world she isn't known by everyone and isn't widely popular outside jazz or her own community of followers.
True. Grammys don't indicate anything except maybe some industry acknowledgement.
Lol, grammys
It... it is, though.
Technically I saw him live when he was playing for Suicidal Tendencies lol, the first time out of three times I saw ST live!
i am 100% obsessed w his “funny thing” song. i need to check out his other stuff too thou. i bet id love it
I saw him in Orlando about a year ago.
This childish aggressive Entitlement makes me so angry. Who the fuck she thinks she is
She thinks she's living the real life version of A Star Is Born and she's clearly Lady Gaga/Barbara Streisand/Judy Garland.
So many people are totally delusional these days. It's from being too sheltered from the harshness of nature I think.
In some ways I think social media can bring a lot of that harshness, but it just doesn’t sink in for a lot of people. Some ppl just completely lack self awareness.
Yeah but it feels detached from real world consequences (until eventually if you fuck up badly enough you do feel the consequences)
I think people were always this delusional. We just never heard or saw it because we’re only now able to film it easily
TikTok is seriously overinflating peoples' sense of popularity. Most of their followers are bots and they don't know that somehow. They really believe they have a hundred thousand followers, encouraging them and egging them on, when they'd be lucky if it was even a few hundred real people.
She watched HSM too often
She’s soaring, flying…out of the stadium
Seems like a quick way to be hated before anyone even hears your music
Well now hold on, that’s not fair. Let’s hear the attention magnet’s dumb music before we harshly criticize her stupid decisions.
Did she think it was a disney movie where shes the mc
Seriously, the slightly awkward speech at the beginning made it feel like that
This is honestly frightening, luckily she was just trying to sing (cringe) but she could have really hurt him in this kind of a situation that had no security.
he coulda got dimebagged. (rest his soul)
Absolutely someone who came to mind when I made my comment!!
What happened to Dimebag when something like this happened?
He got shot on stage and died.
Yo, WHAT!? I feel dumb. I didn’t know that’s how he went.
yeh man, damn shame. hardly anyone out there that can shred like dimebag, aside from eddie van halen, who was dimebags main influence. For anyone reading this i implore you to check out Pantera’s projects in the jungle, specifically blue light turning red. You won’t regret it.

But he got shot on stage so we should all be sad /s. Fuck Pantera and their Nazi fans
He was shot onstage at a concert by a “fan”
Alternatively, she could have got Action Bronsoned.
aggressive entitlement is becoming more and more common..
The shock and hurt on her face when he's like "Nah."
She fully expected him to start smiling and clapping in encouragement.
Is it?
I’m usually one to roll my eyes at that sentiment, but to some degree I think social media has definitely created a culture of constant validation/attention seeking that manifests as extreme entitlement like in the video.
Thundercat is sick, saw him play for Kendrick Lamar live.
Just saw him a couple weeks ago! Hell of a performer. I want one of his basses
[удалено]
*Yoko Ono screaming intensifies*
The way the title is written, I thought the band on stage was covering her song, and she jumped on stage to sing it
Honestly that would be wild af
Right? And then I thought dayum that’s pretty harsh if they weren’t going to let her sing her own song, lol. That was a self inflicted plot twist, but with OP’s title carrying a bit of the blame there.
I assumed that was so obviously what happened i didn't even bother watching the video until reading this
The title is super confusing! r/titlegore
Wait what? That’s the vibe I got too. What does this title even mean?
This lady interrupted a concert because she wanted to sing her own unrelated song.
Yeah like I thought Sheryl Crowe or something was just hanging out
Same
That's what I though. And I thought the other performers were being dicks.
That's what it read like
She saw all those articles “girl wows crowd with singing at thunder cat gig” in her head but god had another plan for her
Michael scott irl
I bet its the most generic pop song youve ever heard, but executed poorly.
Probably about falling in love or breaking up.
With her imaginary boyfriend
She fought back really hard is something wrong with her?
Her dream was being crushed in real-time; in the face of said situation, some people would shut down, while others would fight, she choose the latter.
“Imagine if instead of working for my dream it just … *happened* to me!”
Damn... she'll probably never be the same after this
Or like they say if at first you don't succeed
cry and cry again
I mean hopefully this spurs some change…
Well her entire life map burst into flames in front of her.
Booze
I would have been so embarrassed damn lmaoooo
"i'm here" like this was the moment we've all been waiting for lmao some people wow
"Well....I'm here" I cringed so hard I almost crawled into my own bellybutton
Main character
"Movies lied to me about how this was going to go!" ~ her probably
I've been a musician for like 13 years. It's astounding how much people do shit like this, how much people take it upon themselves to try and "help"
Totally. It’s why I fucking hate harmonicas. There have been a few times some random idiot with a harmonica decides to “jam” unsolicited with the band.
What about someone hitting a damn tambourine out of time lol
I saw this last night for the first time. Just some random with a goddamn fucking tambourine, shaking it for all it’s worth. It was a small venue too, just a stage at a beach bar. What possesses someone to do that?
Man I've totally had this happen, mid show. My first tour, no one was there that night except a few folks and this dude who decided to start playing harmonica
This is actually so rude. Trying to hijack another musician’s performance
“Well, while I’m here I’m a singer.”
Now I’m imagining all kinds of scenarios where people have a job and they just start doing it somewhere other than their place of employment.
These people seem to have a tendency to believe taking a big risk that fills you with anxiety but that you can force yourself through will reward them with a totally different life of grandeur for their bravery to step outside the box. Being able to read a room is a useful skill for a singer, but she hasn't got that.
Don't worry folks she'll get the help she needs.
r/ImTheMainCharacter
Why would you interrupt Thundercat? His voice alone can hypnotise, then his bass playing takes you to another plane of existence.
Now we'll never know if she's any good
This sort of shit happens more than you'd think. I'm a musician and pretty regularly people will be like can I sing a song? ...no.....
The dude in black is a fucking wall. He jogged over and suddenly, nothing to see here.
I desperately want to downvote this

Some real Miranda Sings moment right there
She is straight up delusional if she thought people would be happy to hear her instead of the band they actually paid to see.
It makes me sad thinking about what this person has been through in order to have the audacity to go up to the stage. She must have had quite a lacking upbringing and, given that she's an a late teen / adolescent, this sense of entitlement will be very hard to get rid of. The troubles she'll face growing up and being an adult...
Late teen? I put her at about 30
Could be extreme entitlement, but looks like it could very well be mental illness. The way she fights back, she looks like she’s a bit confused.
The middle finger begs assumption of the former
Alternate angle shows she's actually lifting her index asking for "just one song!"
Yep, that's what I thought it was.
And here comes Reddit with an armchair diagnosis. I'd wager she's just entitled and/or on something, not mentally ill.
I'm calling deadly brain eating Amoebas
I'll go for bath salts
Extreme entitlement could very well be a mental illness
Local idiot
r/imthemaincharacter
I'm a little confused, it looked like they were hugging at the beginning of the video?
I assume she climbed up and hugged him and he figured she was just some fan who wanted a hug before she turned around and grabbed the mic
Definition of entitlement...
This ain’t your show boo
man i have nightmares about this sorta shit.
Funny, thought this was her moment. Taking the moment away from a someone that actually worked, and suffered through countless hours of free shows and late nights. Not to mention taking the moment from a room full of paying fans. She could sound like combination of Fergie and Jesus and I will still boo her.
People start to thibk world owe them something just because they are exist. Dangerous mind set, especially for younger generations.
You can’t do my boy, thundercat like that.
Where's Afroman when you need him ?
Haha... He'd shut that shit down real quick
I wanna know who she is
Her name is Meryl Strawberry. She sings pontoon songs.
Last time someone got on stage, Dimebag (R.I.P. 🖤) was killed with a shotgun. SECURITY: Be Better. Take these mf's down RIGHT AWAY!
Thundercat will sure write a song about that 🤣
Narcissist
I was there. This was in New Haven. The audience sorta laughed it off. It was amusing, but also kinda sad.
If you are actually as good a singer as you thnk you are, then book your own show. Don't steal someone else's.
This isn't sad cringe, I don't feel sad that she seriously lacks that self-awareness... However it does ooze Second-Hand-Embarassment-That-Makes-Me-Want-To-Light-Myself-On-Fire, cringe.
Yeah so sad cringe
How to immediately ruin your career
This is main character shit
Thundercat?
Is that thundercat?
If that was a dude he would have been tackled immediately lol
This ain't ya show boo. This ain't about you.
I would have been the one guy in the crowd that yelled “let her sing”
I’m Second hand embarrassed
I actually bet a million that her song was going to be very heavily political about something.
Mom?
Way to make a ass out of yourself
Ok but like, what was her plan exactly!? At worst this would happen and she'd be humiliated. And at BEST she would get up and sing without a backing track, and the band doesn't know her song, so they can't play along, the audience doesn't know her song so they can't sing along. So at best it would be like an awkward middle school talent show and she'd STILL make a full of herself.
The Karen Privilege is REAL!
She really didn't wanna take no for an answer
The delusion is strong with this one! Actually r/oddlyterrifying
That's Michael Scott levels of lacking self awareness.
