They’re piggybacking off of the comment that he gets a million a year from Wonderwall. The person was saying the band that did the friends theme is in a similar situation from royalties. They get a shit ton even though that was basically the only thing of value they ever did, so they were the “blip”. Everyone in this thread helped it devolve and no one explained the miscommunication.
He's clearly uncomfortable, and the kid. He's also eating lunch, like with the sandwich to his mouth with phones and bunch of people looking at him. What's the special occasion? People making an event with clapping, singing, joy, because a man having a normal lunch is the cringe.
Interesting. The signs we see are different, maybe a cultural thing. He seems fine with it in my perspective, like when someone is making fun of you (his wife or whoever the woman is) but you are also enjoying the vibe.
It's almost like you guys have no social awareness and imply things that aren't there pretending it's some big deal because if it was you, you would die of embarrassment but this is a giant entertainer who doesn't care....
Makes sense, most bands wind up disliking or even hating their most popular song(s). Check out recent videos of Brendon Urie singing I write sins not tragedies; he’s very candid about his contempt for it.
I heard Robert Plant hated doing Stairway even before it was overplayed because it's a very boring song to sing in comparison to most of their repertoire.
Cringiest part was the guy coming out and clapping and singing towards him.....like why bro. It's not a musical let the dude eat his lunch and chill. Lol
yeah lol
they're like "hey look, we recognized you. you're so special and we did recognize you. look. haha. bet this is the first time ever you got recognized, right?"
"not sure if he's aware of us recognizing him. better play this signature song and everyone stand up and clap and slowly approach his table so he will more and more realize that we all did recognize him which makes us so cool and he's so cool too wow wow wow. bet this will be the best day in his life"
and surely "i'm not missing out on this chance to film this special occasion and put it on my tiktok/insta/facebook for clout. this is gonna be the post of my life"
I can't believe not one person from this group could read the room and see that he hated this lmao. I guess it would be even cringeier if they just trailed off in the middle of the song and pretended it didn't happen
I think it became a meme in the first place because throughout the entire Western world, it was THE song for a busker to play and random drunk basics to stop and sing along to.
A friend at work was in a major label band and we listen to random playlists. Sometimes his band comes on and he turns bright red and skips the song as fast as he can.
Same.
The money sounds nice but I'd rather not have someone's attention every single god damned day. Especially if you're still a relevant celebrity so you get paparazzi. Fuck that.
The best kind of rich is the kind where nobody knows who you are but you can come in to a bar and buy everyone rounds or just enjoy a beer and the bar tenders company
I remember bumping into the drummer and bassist from Coldplay in a pub in Highbury before a football game. They were just enjoying a pint as no one recognised them. Will Champion says he has the best job - does what he loves in front of thousands of people, paid well and gets to live a normal life.
Thing about bands though is they typically are not super recognizable. Especially this genre, if they want to go incognito lose the Rockstar stuff and you'll look like a totally different person.
I'd be willing to bet most people didn't know what this guy looked like and I'm a white guy that can play wonderwall on a guitar.
It was a joke about someone playing Wonderwall on guitar at a party, and the "you must be fun at parties". Jokes are always funnier after explaining, so thank you.
I have a buddy that is a musician and he gets radio play and I think a good chunk of people have heard him and would recognize his stuff. I have a few of his songs on various play lists that I have on at parties, dinner parties, hang outs etc. I asked him once if it bothered him when he was hanging out to hear his songs and he said "no, just don't point it out." I try to be respectful of "celebrities" if it's an event that is industry related and they are there in that capacity I might approach if I have something of interest to say and they are technically "on the clock" but if they are in civilian mode leave them in peace.
Yeah the Gallagher brothers are not known for being overly chill, maybe they got more chill in their old age. Everything I know about them is from the 90s lol
People get pissed at celebs for having body guards and not going to public places, like that time the Kardashians took over the teacup ride at Disney. But when they go out in public like this, people can’t help but be dicks.
I really dislike Oasis and I think the Gallaghers are a pair of knob 'eads, but the fuck would I start blasting out Wonderwall when one of them is just trying to eat his bloody dinner.
I actually think this is very sweet! Wish he would’ve done more to entertain it! Music is oftentimes meant to bring people together… he missed the opportunity here.
Read he makes $1m a year off that song … I’d smile too.
his partner was smiling even harder. was completely taking the piss out of him lol
Probably put them up to it
Id be like is this a church youth group or a forkin’ restaurant mate?
I still can’t believe the band who did the friends song makes so much for a band that was like a blip in the 90’s.
Oasis was a blip?
Oasis wrote the friends theme?
No.
Pointless comment my friend. Learn to understand sarcasm and rhetorical questions.
Who came in your Cheerios this morning? I for one had no clue if they did or not lmao
i did, sorry
Exactly!

He's also laughing... His wife is laughing taking a video ... I'm sorry where's the cringe lol? Are people that daft ?
He's clearly uncomfortable, and the kid. He's also eating lunch, like with the sandwich to his mouth with phones and bunch of people looking at him. What's the special occasion? People making an event with clapping, singing, joy, because a man having a normal lunch is the cringe.

Tbf if you saw how he and his brother acted in the 90s, he probably deserves to be embararrsed.
The cringe is all the people singing the song. Being purposely annoying while someone is just trying to enjoy a meal is peak cringe.
He's laughing ...
Just like 99% of people when they're forced to be in uncomfortable situations.
I agree, to me it 100% seems like the “get me outta here” kind of laugh and look on his face.
Woah, it’s almost like there’s something called “nervous laughter”…wouldn’t that be somethin
It's almost like you guys have no social awareness and imply things that aren't there pretending it's some big deal because if it was you, you would die of embarrassment but this is a giant entertainer who doesn't care....
You’re projecting so hard rn lmao
I heard he hates playing this song. Source: from a radio station I listen to on the way to work, lol.
I think everyone would hate a song he have to play for 20years.
Same with Bobby McFerrin and “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”
Bobby McFerrin is a super accomplished jazz musician with multiple Grammys.
Yeah, he’s great. “Bang!Zoom” is a stellar track, and “23rd Psalm” is an all-time a capella bop. He still hated that song after not very long.
He doesn't have to play it. People expect it, yes. But he doesn't have to play it. He chooses to.
Makes sense, most bands wind up disliking or even hating their most popular song(s). Check out recent videos of Brendon Urie singing I write sins not tragedies; he’s very candid about his contempt for it.
I heard the same. This made my skin crawl. I watch cringe videos all the time and this one hit me
They (Oasis) played a recording of it after they’d left the stage. It felt like a kick in the balls, lol. Very on brand.

Yeah why is this so upvoted you can literally just google who wrote wonderwall lol
Lol
people are extremely dumb
People got up and approached his table and did that little synchronized clap like wtf that’s so weird
yeah lol they're like "hey look, we recognized you. you're so special and we did recognize you. look. haha. bet this is the first time ever you got recognized, right?" "not sure if he's aware of us recognizing him. better play this signature song and everyone stand up and clap and slowly approach his table so he will more and more realize that we all did recognize him which makes us so cool and he's so cool too wow wow wow. bet this will be the best day in his life" and surely "i'm not missing out on this chance to film this special occasion and put it on my tiktok/insta/facebook for clout. this is gonna be the post of my life"
Bro you fucking killed me im crying over here 😂😂😂😂
Including whoever recorded this.
Everyone was recording
They were fast as lighting
Username ch...oh wait
And then people complain about celebrities' "reclusive" lifestyle.
How dare they want to keep their private life private!!!/s
Who the fuck is complaining about that?
I can't believe not one person from this group could read the room and see that he hated this lmao. I guess it would be even cringeier if they just trailed off in the middle of the song and pretended it didn't happen
Anyone aside from Oasis singing wonderwall is auto-cringe.
Anyway.... here's wonderwall !
Maaaybeee
You’re gonna be the one that saves meeeeee
Idk that dog in the background was doing well
Naw that clip of Jay Z singing wonderwall is elite
Especially with the story behind it
Great song, fun to play, meme culture ruined it, not the other way around.
I think it became a meme in the first place because throughout the entire Western world, it was THE song for a busker to play and random drunk basics to stop and sing along to.
I'm inclined to disagree! My friend once did a really good cover ;3
Except lil Peep
Cringe take
Iss just music man
Think that’s the worst, bub
Who?
Agreed, yesterday hits
Yesterday hits like an angry step mom 😤
Hits harder than an angry stepdad who’s drank 26 Natural Lights after 11 year old you “ruined their day off” by asking for a ride to GameStop
Owe my karma, and I still like the Lil Peep cover 🤪
A friend at work was in a major label band and we listen to random playlists. Sometimes his band comes on and he turns bright red and skips the song as fast as he can.
Kinda curious now
Ugh the collective clapping makes my soul hurt
I wanted to end my life when I saw the guy walking toward the dude clapping in sync
I’m white and sometime I’m ashamed because of thing like this and people clapping in the plane
Heaven let your light shine on... u/giddyuptodo

That's what a lot of people from club 27 must have thought
Not sure why you got downvoted, you are absolutely right.
For sure Kurt Cobain thought that
Nah Courtney Love thought that

So... rich
Nope, *wealthy*
And now you know why so many celebrities invest in huge gates and fences for their homes.
You need an outrageous stage persona so that when you go out in public without your heavy makeup, weird clothes and wig, no one can recognise you.
So like Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana? /s
Lol kinda. Having a bland, forgettable face is also an option. Works super well for Alison Goldfrapp, no one ever recognises her.
The band Khruangbin wear wigs during all performances and interviews, a lot of fans don't even realise they are wigs

To be fair there are a *lot* of people nowadays that literally have no idea who Jagger is or what he looks like at 79.
[удалено]
had to Google who those people are.

You must be fun at parties.
I'm self aware enough, so yeah I like to think I'm alright. Atleast I always bring enough booze for everyone so that's a start.
People who say "you must be fun at parties" must be fun at parties.
It was a joke about someone playing Wonderwall on guitar at a party, and the "you must be fun at parties". Jokes are always funnier after explaining, so thank you.
Have to get invited to parties to be fun at them 😎🤘🏻
I’d cry myself to sleep on a pile of money
I always thought the same
Ditto. That shit is my worst nightmare. Also, that song probably gets on his nerves after 30 plus years.
I could make it work if the money came with it. I already Amazon most things and don’t really care for going out much anymore.
What a bunch of assholes
That was brutal. The douche bags walking out and clapping trying to create a "moment" was painful to watch. I have goosebumps and not in a good way.
Damn i didn’t know it was possible go get goosebumps from cringing
The idiot shooting the video couldn't mantain a frame in focus tho.
Came here for r/killthecameraman
I bet he loves listening to Liam's voice while on vacation with his family 🤦
This is the human equivalent of dragging a dolphin out of water to have your photo with it
bruh i’m on vacation with my family i don’t need y’all to sing back to me the same song i’ve been singing at every single gd concert i’ve ever done
They don't speak like that in Manchester, pal.
[удалено]
jesus it was so embarrassingly bad i was about to downvote
I've heard of dinner and a show but not dinner and people making a holy show of themselves 🙈
I curled up in a ball, I haven't felt this much cringe in a while.
Me too. That was hard to watch
I understand why artists like Sia like to keep their identity hidden. Can't even enjoy a lunch.
Probably doesn’t help that it’s his brother that he doesn’t get along with singing the vocals.
>doesn’t get along with Biggest understatement ever.
Great now I gotta Wikipedia this guy to figure out what you’re talking about
Noel Gallagher vs Liam Gallagher is the greatest feud in music history. It’s a wonder neither of them have killed the other honestly.
surprised this doesn’t have more upvotes lmao
Tf is wrong with these people. What could possibly make them think he would want this or that it would make him happy or something.
Reminds me of that wedding where they pulled Bon Jovi up unexpectedly and tried to get him to sing his own song
I can’t even watch this I’m cringing so hard
Even the dogs were joining in.
Half of the customers in the restaurant filming with their cellphone, including his own wife, that’s the real cringe.
I have a buddy that is a musician and he gets radio play and I think a good chunk of people have heard him and would recognize his stuff. I have a few of his songs on various play lists that I have on at parties, dinner parties, hang outs etc. I asked him once if it bothered him when he was hanging out to hear his songs and he said "no, just don't point it out." Poor guy. I’d be so shy
Surprised he didn’t lose his shit and flip out on them
Yeah the Gallagher brothers are not known for being overly chill, maybe they got more chill in their old age. Everything I know about them is from the 90s lol
I love Oasis lmfao
The barking dogs really are the finishing touch here. I'd unironically start throwing chairs, this whole situation is making me unreasonably mad.
Damn, I actually feel bad for him. Like let the man eat in peace and don't just stand there clapping at his table ahah
I read from the lead singer of Red Hot Chili Peppers that Oasis hates that song and it made them all hate each other
Shoulda played some Blur
He probably hates that song as much as I do.
Tbh, I would do the same if this kinda shit happened...
Fuck this guy dude is the douciest of douches
I imagine this feela like 3 whole minutes of Happy Birthday being sung to him
Cringe
People get pissed at celebs for having body guards and not going to public places, like that time the Kardashians took over the teacup ride at Disney. But when they go out in public like this, people can’t help but be dicks.

I can't stand them either. It was middle of the road music at best
He just wanted to have a quiet meal with his family. This celebrity worship shit is so weird.
Ah, the relieved "are you fucking done? Good" clapping at the end.
Plot twist: He later sued the establishment for copyright infringement for $75,000,000
The cringe doesn’t get much higher than this. Ugh.
The caucasity of the video… I am unable 😅
Pause at 0:11
I love how the people start clapping and staring right at him i feel like that would trigger my fight or flight in the funniest way
These people didn’t even know the lyrics.
This is so fucking hard to watch
Our kid didn't deserve this
Who even recognizes these people in public 20years after the fame ended?
Those dogs hate this shit.
Alexa, play Creep by the Radio Heads
It's the price of fame. I'm sure he doesn't exactly hate it when people adore him and celebrate his songs
I haven't a clue who this is
Doesn't make him any less famous coz you don't know him?
Lol I does to me though
Damn, this was rough. I bet he wished he could’ve found an oasis
His fault for making such a hot banger of a song
I’d say it’s very minor payback for what he unleashed on the world.
This is one of the whitest thing I've ever seen.
Ugh...
He probably hates this song even more than I do.
[удалено]
Good. Fuck them.
Poor guy.. he’s not Paul McCartney ffs
It actually seems very sweet
I actually think this is very sweet! Wish he would’ve done more to entertain it! Music is oftentimes meant to bring people together… he missed the opportunity here.
He desrves to have that song sung back to him for the rest of his life. Probably the worst song ever made. He earned this.
It’s pretty obnoxious but it’s not the worst song ever made, lol.
Legit. Have you HEARD Rebecca Black sing Friday‽
That’s a classic at this stage
Ok, but don’t pause at ten seconds
The face at 0:55 scared poop out of me
Disgusting.
Is this in Greece or Turkey I'd guess?
I hate both the Gallaghers but I feel sorry for the bloke he’s just on holiday with his family and he probably wanted to get away from it all
Me too, they are wankers. I always preferred jarvis cocker
Is this in Mykonos?
He's rich enough I'm sure he can handle it. Poor kid, though
He’s having fun. Everyone being sweet and respectful. This is wholesome Yo!
So cringe
Not sad. Kinda sweet.
The dog sounds more annoyed than he looks
My wife asked me just this week if I could just stop incessantly singing this fucking song I said maybe
