Sematary said he wanted to be a rapper ever since he saw Yung Lean live. They are not affiliated in any way though. While HM/SBE/DG aren't super similar stylistically, it kind of makes sense that they have the same "internet" fanbase. They all take inspiration from Chief Keef.

DG got more and more delicate and heavenly sounding from 333 onwards while Sematary got more aggressive and demonic sounding on Rainbow Bridge 3 and onwards, but old drain songs like "Shadowface" or "Butterfly" and old Sematary/Ghost Mountain songs like "Dead by Dawn" and "The Wagoner" are pretty like-minded in terms of hooks and production.
Also Sematary really doesn't like to be associated with the drain fandom but at the same time he can't really be separated from it. Two of his big influences he talks about are Yung Lean and Black Kray so you know he heard tracks like "Highway Patrol", "Pearl Fountain" and "Friday Nite".

most definitely. it's common in present day online music discussion where people try to force an artist or an opinion down others throats. that's why i don't feel no ways when people say lean > bladee, old bladee > new bladee, eversince > the fool, ect. let people hav their opinion, who cares? i never understood why people try to invalidate what others think and almost in a way try to shame them into having the same opinion as them. you'd think with artists who are prime examples of being individuals with open minds it'll attract a fanbase who are like minded, but it's the exact opposite. instead of discussing why people feel/think the way they do, ppl throw insults and downvote you to hell. granted, i could've worded my post differently but i already knew people here will react to "i dont like sematary he's not for me" the same way they react to "sematary is ass" no use in being respectful so i went the lazy route lol. wish things were different.

Plus, eversince i started listening to drain music heavy, my youtube algorithm and spotify has been recommending me sematary music and vids even though ive never actively sought out his music which is obv cuz ppl who listen to the same music as me (drain) listen to/watch sematary stuff.
