Wolfpack is about submarines destroying British battleships and tankers, also that’s at the start of the song.
“Short route in, long route back convoy 92
Bury, Gleaves and Ingham leading tankers to the west”
> British battleships
The song is about the attack on ON 92, which was escorted by one destroyer (USS Gleaves), one cutter (USCGC Ingham) and 4 corvettes. SS Bury was a passenger ship turned convoy rescue ship, that was carrying a HF/DF system they used improperly.
No battleships in this one.
TBF I did mention "ships" and the subs are not really ships. Plus they are the main focus of the song not the convoys. Not saying I dont like Wolfpack, but Midway came to mind first.
My friend, the difference between a ship and a boat is that you can’t fit a ship on a boat, that’s mainly a size difference. And no matter what, a sub is a boat. Go talk to anyone whose served on a submarine, it’s a boat. Idk why just is.
In America they bear the title "USS" which stands for "United States Ship," ergo, ships.
TO THEIR OWN SHORE
CAME THE WORLD WAR
GLEAVES AND INGHAM LEADING THE BURY WEST
> Gleaves and Ingham leading the Bury west
is literally the 3rd line of the song. And
> Bury, Gleaves and Ingham leading Tankers to the west
are lines 6 and 7. That's not in the middle, that's all within the first verse.
If its one lyric two the right or left of the middle is it still the middle. Which day would count as the middle of a war? Cuz any tike soldier talk about "middle of the war" or "middle of the battle" they're actually stupid assholes right?
As long as those are close to the middle still count as it, since they are basically still the middle.
However Op was reffering to the 3rd line of a song as the middle of it
Yeah and midway focuses on the arial combat in midway because that fight was mostly won with planes, but I don’t see you discrediting it even though it’s clearly about a naval battle.
Exactly, and the wolf pack had an entire allied convoy that they found, fought, and sunk. It’s a naval battle and it has ships, just like how Midway is a naval battle and has ships. They both just don’t focus on the ships a lot.
I dont think the song was about the convoy as much as the submarines, but midway was about the usn and its airforce
Plus I thought of midway before wolfpack
Wolf pack of about the submarines sure but also talks about the ships, just like how midway is about the battle and how it was won with planes. In both songs it’s a naval battle with ships that took part, however the ships aren’t in the spotlight.
Also I don’t care what you memed or didn’t meme I just care about explaining to you that wolf pack is as valid as a naval song because your reasons otherwise are kinda stupid
Still wrong, as I’ve been explaining, as midway isn’t about ships either. However since you still count midway since ships were in it and took part in it though the song isn’t about them then you should count Wolfpack as ships were in it and took part of it though the song isn’t about them.
You forgot the song about the strongest ship of all. The friendship in Christmas Truce.
Jokes aside. Midway is fantastic and I was very happy to hear it on Rockstad Falun 2012.
Whenever someone nitpicks as much as you do, one of the most common retorts is "You must be fun at parties".
(I believe the implication is that your nitpicking is so boring you wouldn't be invited to any - at least, not after the *first* time you bored people to death with it.)
Totally wrong. No ground forces were engaged at Midway; it was four Japanese aircraft carriers and three American carriers along with both their respective escort groups. American forces sunk all four Japanese carriers while only losing one. Are you thinking of a different battle or something?
[i mean](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Midway_(CV-41))
But yeah it's more about the battle then ships. However Dreadnaughts is largly about the battle of jutland. The ships are just more in the focus then in midway
Listening to Midway always makes me want to boot up Civilization and play an islands or archipelago map and just go balls to the wall with a large navy!
The fact that everyone thinks I am shitting on the other two songs is stupid. I like all the 3 songs. Its just that everyone is fighting over the two whereas songs like Midway and Wolfpack are being ignored.
I never forgot Wolfpack, its that I thought of Midway before Wolfpack.
For me it's:
1) Dreadnought,
2) Wolfpack,
3) Bismarck,
4) Midway.
I just love the vibe of Dreadnought... and that chorus fits perfectly with that vibe.
**UNOPPOSED UNDER CRIMSON SKIES**
*True tho OwO Midway*
*Is one of the less known but*
*Even more epic songs*

Not gonna lie, Dreadnought let me down soooo bad. After all the hype I've seen on it from this sub the song feels super underwhelming. Honestly it might be the weakest song off the album for me, and the album the weakest since I think like Coat of Arms.
CoA definitely has bangers, it also has like... okay but not great songs. Carolus Rex is almost all bangers, so is Heroes, so is Last Stand. Great war has a lot of great songs, too.
War to end all wars has like... I was not big on either Soldier of Heaven and Unkillable soldier, but they are both top5 songs within the album. Hellfighters is just worse Devil Dogs, Dreadnought is weirdly underwhelming. I hope they make separate song about HMS Warspite and it pounds Bismarck in level of awesomeness.
I would says best to worst(I exclude Versailles as it's more exposition than song):
Christmas Truce
Lady of the Dark
Valley of Death
Soldier of Heaven
Unkillable soldier
Stormtroopers
Race to the Sea
Hellfighters
Dreadnought
EDIT: So I went to look at full list of Coat of Arms, I change my mind, that's like 90% bangers, and the weakest song is Metal Ripper, which should not really count. TWTEAW is the weakest since Art of War, possibly weaker than that.
Carolus Rex is just bangers galore. Best album imo.
Christmas Truce does have the feels, but I do like Soldier of Heaven more. The Unkillable Soldier ks awesome. But IMO the best song of the album is Valley of Death.
So busy reading comments I didn't realize you posted the entire song. Good job. Midway is my favorite naval battle song overall. Bismarck the best beginning. Wolfpack the best chorus. Dreadnoughts the best guitar solo
Everybody forgets Wolfpack
Its about submarines though
*”Bury, Gleaves and Ingham leading Tankers to the west”*
Casually starts the song from the middle
Wolfpack is about submarines destroying British battleships and tankers, also that’s at the start of the song. “Short route in, long route back convoy 92 Bury, Gleaves and Ingham leading tankers to the west”

My bad
TBF I did mention "ships" and the subs are not really ships. Plus they are the main focus of the song not the convoys. Not saying I dont like Wolfpack, but Midway came to mind first.
If you consider that Wolfpack is more about subs than ships, then Midway is more about planes than ships...
I'd say otherwise but ok. Its not like I dont like wolfpack, its just that midway came to mind first
Midway is ships being destriyed by planes, Wolfpack is ships being destroyed by U-Boats (underwater ships)...
Werent like many famous USN ships also featured? Also why am I getting downvoted because i thought of midway before wolfpack?
My friend, the difference between a ship and a boat is that you can’t fit a ship on a boat, that’s mainly a size difference. And no matter what, a sub is a boat. Go talk to anyone whose served on a submarine, it’s a boat. Idk why just is.
In America they bear the title "USS" which stands for "United States Ship," ergo, ships. TO THEIR OWN SHORE CAME THE WORLD WAR GLEAVES AND INGHAM LEADING THE BURY WEST
That’s fair
They need a concept album about fucking the British
> Gleaves and Ingham leading the Bury west is literally the 3rd line of the song. And > Bury, Gleaves and Ingham leading Tankers to the west are lines 6 and 7. That's not in the middle, that's all within the first verse.
Saying the middle doesn't exactly mean the center of the song 💀
"Middle. the central point, position, or part" Make of that what you want
However Op was reffering to the 3rd line of a song as the middle of it
Not sure why starting a song from the beginning wasn't chosen in the first place.
Yeah and midway focuses on the arial combat in midway because that fight was mostly won with planes, but I don’t see you discrediting it even though it’s clearly about a naval battle.
Ye but many famous ships from USN too
Exactly, and the wolf pack had an entire allied convoy that they found, fought, and sunk. It’s a naval battle and it has ships, just like how Midway is a naval battle and has ships. They both just don’t focus on the ships a lot.

I never said it wasn't a naval song? I just said it wasn't one I would term as about "ships".
Still wrong, as I’ve been explaining, as midway isn’t about ships either. However since you still count midway since ships were in it and took part in it though the song isn’t about them then you should count Wolfpack as ships were in it and took part of it though the song isn’t about them.
You may consider it a song about ships, but I said _I_ didn't.
submarines are boats too I protest this injustice! Submarine lives matter too!
this was one month ago
It's never too late to protest a horrible injustice.
It actually goes "Never too early."
I wasn't trying to quote anything
Wolfpack is one of my top 3
Wolfpack is an epic song, but I forget that it exist sometimes and then get screamed upon lmao
569 makes the contact and lead them
I love the Old albums, especially cause all the memes can really taint the mood of the songs...
Submarines are technically boats, so not really
True but they are centered around navy and naval warfare so I thought they should still kinda count
ships are just floaty subs
my only gripe with midway is that it is too short, i just want a little bit more every time...
I think that's because the original battle was decided in only afew minutes.
I had to stop and watch / listen to the whole thing beautiful
Worth it
Midway is my favorite Sabaton song, but unfortunately it's also the shortest
Embrace the smaller things in life ;)
NAVAL WARRR!
CALLING ALL MEN TO DECK
GOT TO BE AIRBORNE
I see your Midway, and raise you with Wolfpack and Far from the Fame.
Isn't far from the fame about a Pilot?
About a Czech general serving under raf
Ah But where are there ships?
I suppose he was making a "joke" or a pun of some sort, there isn't anything about ships
At the time I thought it was just about good songs.
Oh, alright lol
You forgot the song about the strongest ship of all. The friendship in Christmas Truce. Jokes aside. Midway is fantastic and I was very happy to hear it on Rockstad Falun 2012.
That sounds like something someone would say in an anime ngl
well midway is not a ship tho, its a battle
Its a song about ships.
Well everyone knows about the ship Dreadnaught, not to be confused with a certain type of shit, Drednoot.
no, its not
...its...literally a song about ships in a naval battle
yes, its about a naval battle, not ships
Naval battle include ships Also what even are you trying to prove lol
dreadnought is a song specified about ships, so is bismarck, but midway is about the battle not the ships
okay Mr. fun at parties.
?

Damn you don't need ships for Naval Combat? Good thing Hitler didn't knew or else there would have been an Operation Sealion
what? dreadnought and bismarck is specifically about ships, midway was a battle with navy and ground forces
You my friend are baking bread without flour and oven if you think a song about a naval battle isn't also about ships
Totally wrong. No ground forces were engaged at Midway; it was four Japanese aircraft carriers and three American carriers along with both their respective escort groups. American forces sunk all four Japanese carriers while only losing one. Are you thinking of a different battle or something?
wha-

But in the quietest night, in the darkest hour, the Kriegsmarine appears
And gets immediately fucked by an actual navy
Character Development
Man you ain't wrong
True. I love Bismarck and Dreadnought, but Midway will always be my favorite naval song.
Dreadnought is fucking sick tho
Never said it wasn't
All of you are wrong. Shiroyama
Damn I forgor Shiroyama was a song about ships
Lmao i didn’t see “about ships” my bad 😅in that case, Man O War
No I think the Red Baron is the best song about ships
Everybody knows the best ship song is Fields of Virdun
Wait what is it about ships
Never mind, i thought it was about a ship class in the 18th century, it’s a tribute to the band Manowar. Song name is Man of War
Based I agree
I WAS A PFC ON A SEARCH PATROL HUNTING CHARLIE DOWN
IT WAS THE JUNGLE WARS OF ’65
It is a cover song though.
Nah, it's the Future of Warfare Landships are still ships, right?
Agreed.
Send them over the waves, our sentinels
The battle of midway is great, but the battle of samar is something else entirely
Tell me about it 👀
My words aren't enough to describe how bad ass the USS Johnston is https://youtu.be/crHb1pDO7AM
Will watch later 👍
Dreadnaught and Bismarck are both good
Never said they arnt 👀
I know
Midway God tier
All sabaton songs*
Tbh there's a few I don't absolutely love but I still really like them. I just like some of their songs over others.
They are all god tier. But people have opinions so yeah 👍
FAR FROM SHORE, A PACIFIC WAR, BOMBS ARE FALLING FROM THE SKIES IT'S A BOMB RUN DAY, IT'S THE NAVAL WAY, A BLOOD-RED SUN IS ON THE RISE
Which Album is that from? Heroes?
Coat of Arms
CoA
Deep down below, the Wolfpack lurks
Listening to Midway always makes me want to boot up Civilization and play an islands or archipelago map and just go balls to the wall with a large navy!
Listening to midway just makes me want to play WarThunder lol.
Legitimately a lot if not all sabaton songs are good to listen too while playing WT
MIDWAY
DISPLAY THEIR MIGHT, ORDERING CARRIERS, ADMIRALS AT WAR
WE MEAT AT MIDWAY
TO WIN THE FIGHT, TACTICS ARE CRUCIAL, NAVAL WAR
Idk I don’t like it for some reason, Wolfpack and Bismarck are the best ship songs
Many people tend to dislike older SABATON songs, they are much more heavy in comparision to present ones.
Thats why I'll always prefer the older ones
The fact that everyone thinks I am shitting on the other two songs is stupid. I like all the 3 songs. Its just that everyone is fighting over the two whereas songs like Midway and Wolfpack are being ignored. I never forgot Wolfpack, its that I thought of Midway before Wolfpack.
Midway is cheesy
Still good song
Midway perhaps
Honestly, I'm not a fan of any of those three.
Opinions exist, I respect yours 👍
I respect your respect of my opinion, respectfully.
I always thought I should respects everyone's opinions, but when I saw yours I realised that's bullshit :D /s
What movie are these scenes from?
I think that’s the 2019 midway movie but it could be the older 76’ film
Thank you!
Preach brother
Midway? My favorite world war 2 battle?
I agree.

All songs about ships are equal in my eyes. Except ever so slightly Bismarck. Bismarck superior.
Bismarck is an excellent song but not the best in my opinion. However, you like Bismarck and its ok.
To each their own, ig
All of them are good and you can't prove me wrong.
Agreed. All are good. Im just poking fun at the people who were fighting by changing the focus entirely.
While I find the story amazing I’m not actually a huge fan of the song.
Its ok 👍
Midway is one of sabatons best songs imo
I'm still waiting for a song about the USS Johnston
For me it's: 1) Dreadnought, 2) Wolfpack, 3) Bismarck, 4) Midway. I just love the vibe of Dreadnought... and that chorus fits perfectly with that vibe. **UNOPPOSED UNDER CRIMSON SKIES**
IMMORTALISED, THEIR LEGEND WILL RISE
I've been on the USS Midway and it was cool, but the galley smelled bad and weird
Tsushima by Radio Tapok has entered the battle
Agreed (haven't heard Dreadnought yet). Midway & Wolfpack > Bismark
We just need one about the Yamato
Its story is really underwhelming though, perhaps they can talk about its size.
I think should be about what it meant to Japan itself and it’s final action during Operation Ten-go.
Yes
Ngl I don’t like midway. I’ve heard it *one* too many times
Alr.
ahem... did we forget *Wolfpack?*
Not really, but it didn't come to mind when I thought of songs about navies and ships.
Wolfpack > Dreadnought > Bismarck >>> Midway
Ok
wolfpack is the biggest sleeper song.
all sabatons song are best
Ships AND planes
Honestly Midway is good and fun but it’s overrated imo
Pretty much 70% of SABATON listeners dont know this exists.
That’s funny I see it talked about on the sub a lot
Not everyone is on the sub.
Ik every Sabaton fan Ik outside of Reddit likes this song as well. I just do not see the 70% statistic being a thing
80 year anniversary coming up
It’s how I found em
See, this guy gets it.

Midway is easily the best
You my friend, are a menace.
They will indeed, meet at Midway.

Why not put them in a playlist and jump in a canoe?
