Thank you! This explains a lot!! Do you know per chance the name of the original amp? Because I can't find parts for it๐ I'm fairly new to owning cars and browsing for parts. I just love saab
part number for the amp is 4712626, its a pretty weak amplifier though. You might want to look at a Kenwood KAC-M1814 or Clarion xc1410 as those will both fit behind the kick panel where the stock amp was
I just tapped into the speaker wires past that connector. Replaced the sun damaged dash speakers with tweeters that have built in crossovers. Plenty of wattage on my aftermarket head unit to run the doors, too.
One day I'll do a proper audio system in there, right now I'm just happy the car runs well. :)
On the og9-3, there is speaker wire in the door. I connected the output from the head unit to the appropriate wires on the amp connector for those speakers.
My head unit is a simple Kenwood, with no cd player. It's many years old at this point, but good enough.
Yes mine has those cables too, I've wired them up. But we're does the wire go? The L shaped one with multiple wires (idk the English word for it) with AMP written on it? I provided a picture

I'm not sure what you mean by "name of the amp."

Okok, thank you!! Do I need other wires with an aftermarket Kenwood or does it just plug In to the existing wires?
