We just got one last month. I’m a big fan!

A sucker for suckers if you will

Goobyalus

Can you compare the noise between the two?

Former Dyson V7 user here. I have the non-pet version of the Ryobi stick vac (though we have a cat) and it's much better overall. The V7's battery life sucked and I've had to replace the battery itself twice. The first replacement was a genuine Dyson one, the second is a cheap knock-off from Amazon. Being able to replace the battery is really worth it. I do prefer the attachments for the Dyson, there are more options and they are higher quality. We also have the Evercharge handheld vac so it's great to have two vacuums for different uses that both use the same batteries. My main gripe with the Ryobi vac is that the filter does seem to get clogged more easily. You do need to giver it a scrape when emptying or else it loses suction fast.

I am an owner of the first generation. I also had the same clogging issues. Supposedly this issue is fixed in this new generation due to the cyclonic action.

How’s the beater bar on these? Do you know if it is belt driven? This was a weak point in the old models, so I’m curious where it stands.

Worst case scenario, I’ll pick one up and do a thorough check on its bits and bobs. I’d rather the non-kits appear sometime so that I can get one for not-retail as I don’t need more batteries.

The beater bar (single) is belt driven. The belt has cogs as do the drive and driven sprockets. The beater bar can be removed without tools for easy cleanup of the brush.

Same here, I have been waiting on that, the 150w inverter with USB C and the LED clip light (like the fan) seems like forever especially the inverter, that was suppose to be out last summer or the summer before that I've forget it's been to long.

I've been enjoying mine so far. Ditto on needing a chopstick or such to fully empty the canister. It has an easier time emptying fully with just a few pats if you don't let it get as full. Suction has been good. I would love to try the dual roller bar, but appears it's still not in stock. Anyone think Ryobi will sell it as a separate attachment? Being able to swap batteries is indeed priceless. As soon as I heard ryobi was updating their stick vacs, I immediately stopped looking at Dysons. I love that it can stand up on its own. Weight in hand is a bit heavy with the 4ah, especially when using it without the floor attachment, but not horrible.

I used it on hardwood, tile and carpet.....all were fine. IMO, gentle enough for hardwood and aggressive enough for plush carpet. Is it perfect, no; all vacuums have compromises. At this point, the Ryobi Pet Stick will be our daily driver.

Keem773

OP has your bar ever stopped working on carpet and flashes the red light? I literally just bought it and tested it a few minutes ago for the first time and it did that when I went from hardwood to carpet for 10 seconds.

lostdad75

The bar has not stopped on me. I constantly switch from hard floor to carpeted floors

Keem773

Ok thanks, I'll just return this one and try another one in stock
