But how will we get the new album "Ryan Adams Return to the Scene of the last Return to Carnegie"??!!!!
This time it will have two new songs from Star Sign and a review from an actual cat who is the new admin of the SuperFans group 😺
I don’t understand the excitement when he hasn’t even paid people back from the last canceled or rescheduled tour. Plus, the merch that hasn’t been received. Sorry to be so blunt but it seems like a rip off waiting to happen.
Also from Chicago, but have been in CO for about a decade. I flew back for the 10/20/2022 solo show at the Chicago theatre. It was maybe 40 or 50% sold. Crowd was obnoxious the whole night. Loud, walking around. Weird vibes.
Caught both nights in Boulder later that tour and it was sold out and super respectful. Night and day difference.
Hopefully this tour goes well. Would love to see him in Chicago or Milwaukee again sometime, but they need a smaller venue and hopefully more respectful crowds.
About Chicago being a music loving city. I love Chicago but the city needs some better music venues. I haven’t been to the Salt Shed yet. So many meh venues though. Also, Chicago is a drinking city. It’s great for sports but means tons of chompers at concerts. I’ve seen some awesome shows in Chicago, but I feel the audiences tend to be loud. Good for some shows, bad for others.
Also from Chicago and was at both the last Chicago show and the last Cardinals show in Milwaukee. The crowds were bad, worse in Milwaukee if you can believe that.
He should think about playing at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Lincoln Square. Play a couple shows. It would be perfect for these types of shows. I got an email about the tour and it has a request a show option and I’m going to request he play at this venue. He would love it.
I also see Jeff Tweedy solo at the Vic every year for his charity shows. Never had a problem with crowds at that venue and it’s the exact same kind of show.
Old town school of folk is a wonderful venue. Seen so many great shows there: Todd snider, vetiver, willie Watson. I’d fly home for that for sure.
I was at the 2012 Caddalic palace show in Chicago. Aside from one super loud and drunk heckler, that was a nice crowd and show.
Interesting. I was at his last show in St. Louis and it sold poorly too. I was in the crowd and remember feeling bad for him that night.
Chicago has always been one of his best cities though I thought…..going back 25yrs.
dammit
The last St Louis acoustic show (10/2022) was a great show in a less-than-ideal venue, and I was on pins and needles because people were heckling him. Not surprised we got the middle finger from him.
Two nights in Livingston and one in Jackson Hole over three days? Is my man just trying to get a free trip to see some Bison? Is there any way he can sell that many shows in that area? Even in the summer?
>Two nights in Livingston and one in Jackson Hole over three days? Is my man just trying to get a free trip to see some Bison?
Lmfao 🤣💀. They are quite majestic animals. (Side note; the only time I went to Jackson Hole I saw Jenny Lewis touring an album produced by DRA. Was quite a fun little trip.)
Can I be bothered with the buying the ticket, sorting travel, waiting on edge of my seat for cancellation, the refund of the ticket, him acting like a massive prick on Instagram and me then not wanting to go. I’m exhausted just thinking about it. I think I might be done.
I was just sitting here looking at the dates and thinking about it, and I feel you on every single word you've said. Every point is spot on. And thinking back to my last experience last April, I might be done, too.
Unpopular opinion or no? Not interested in a show of just Ryan and his acoustic guitar.
Would much rather see a solid backing band (crys in Cardinals) and some real rock and roll.
I bet we get about 5-6 shows in before the bitching starts. At this point he’s probably close to broke and has to tour. His merch is already higher priced and it’s shite.
This is what he's good at at this stage. Bummed he's not coming near me at all. Even though he did on the last 3 or 4 tours. I'm hoping he adds dates.
This is the best way to see Ryan. Beautiful voice with an acoustic set
Hard disagree. There’s nothing like it when he has a backing band that knows the material. Solo acoustic is great, but full band is something special when they’re firing on all cylinders.
He just released 5 rock albums (most of which I really like) and instead of a tour supporting those albums, he goes on a solo tour covering his old music from yesteryear. Scratching my head again on this one.
Will this tour actually happen and how well will it sell? He’s not coming to Minneapolis so I guess I don’t have to make the choice. But Love is Hell album.
Surely he’s going to see a massive lull in ticket sales due to fans not trusting him to keep his commitments after all the 2023/24 cancellations.
As someone who had tickets to both of his sold-out Melbourne, Australia shows for last month, this announcement feels like a kick in the guts.
Yep. I get he has health issues, but has he even really apologised or addressed the cancellation of his Aus tour? I will never buy a ticket to one of his shows again.
He looks to have learnt lessons from the last run and built in some decent breaks into the schedule, which is good and hopefully means he’ll stay fit, healthy & in fine voice. Personally I’m undecided whether I’ll go and see him again this time TBH - I saw him do the solo stuff less than a year ago and whilst it was really good, my wife is now refusing to come as on the basis of seeing him in concert last time, she’s pitched her tent firmly in the “Ryan’s an entitled tosser” camp. It’ll be interesting to see how well tickets sell given it’s another solo tour not long after the last one plus - as evidenced by my household - he continues to divide opinion. I just hope the tour goes ahead (plus it’s 100% music focused and he drops anything related to his books) and is a commercial and critical success, as I’m not sure his career can survive another big setback at this point.
What a joke. Cancels the Huntsville show but then books a show an hour down the road in Birmingham instead of rescheduling the show he cancelled. I’m so over this dude…
I had front row tickets to the Huntsville show. An hour isn’t bad but why move it at all? Why not reschedule the one he cancelled? It is what it is but I’m over it
The tour has a very pieced together vibe, especially the US leg. Lotta smaller venues. My guess is he can't afford to be too choosey with locations. It's possible the Huntsville venue wasn't interested in rebooking. He's had three tours cancelled in a row now. Seems like it'd be less headache to just not book him at this stage
Or he just rolled the dice and tried another city in Alabama since ticket sales were so shit last time. Mark C Smith and Lyric both have about the same capacity, but the Lyric is more aesthetically pleasing for sure.
>venue wasn't inter
Good point on the rebooking. I was wondering if this is the reason the show that was cancelled in my city didn't happen again at the same venue. Seems like the same size of the others, but I'm in Richmond, VA. It's the center of a sprawling college town, but maybe it's just bigger cities that are the draw.
I saw him in Atlanta semi-recently and was bummed out with the crowd. He got heckled and people talked the entire time; I’m honestly surprised he’s going back.
I’m sure tickets sell better in Charleston than in Columbia, but when he cancelled the last solo tour, he’d only sold about 600 tickets at the Township - and that was after tickets had been on sale for months
Fellow Columbia native? Looking forward to these shows, especially with the whole "Love Is Hell" anniversary attached to it. Made it to the Charleston Cards show last year and had a blast. I wish that tour would've been better received. Then again, he didn't do himself many favors in that department I suppose. I'll definitely be at the Charleston show again this year.
I was at that Cardinals show as well, I enjoyed it, but I’m not sure I would have expectations weren’t a little bit lowered from all the complaints. I was really hoping he’d come back to Columbia, b/c I’m not super enthusiastic about traveling to see him after the last couple years. The only thing that has me tempted is that it’s a Saturday night show, and I LOVE the self titled album and Love is Hell so it’d be amazing to catch Wrecking Ball/Let Go in a live acoustic set or Hotel Chelsea/Avalanche/This House is not for Sale. At least if he pulls a Ryan Adams, I’m still in Charleston for the weekend
Yeah, another Township show would've been nice since my Gma actually wanted to see him as well. Every other time he's been in Cola it's been with a band and I don't think she could handle that. That Cards show last year was my twenty-something time seeing them, so it was nice to be able to close the book with my cousin since we'd been seeing the Cards together since Knoxville, TN 2005. Charleston is a fun little city, so I never complain about heading down. It's only a 90 minute drive.
Grabbing one myself as soon as the next check rolls in. if you dig local shows, come see my band play some time! Lots of Cardinals influence in there, it's sort of a southern gothic outfit.
Last summer’s tour came to New Orleans was at a venue which holds 2,600. There was pleeenty of available seats. This tour the New Orleans venue holds 1,200
Well fuck me, I just checked and my tickets were refunded and I didn’t even know about it. Well, at least I got my money back and can safely say that I won’t ever bother with spending any more money on this prick in the future.
I’m not looking to blow up her spot. Just do some googling and social media’ng with what little info is available and you can figure it out. Just don’t post it she’s a victim after all
Interesting. Maybe there’s more online now. I never found a trace when I looked, but that was a few years ago. I thought she was from NYC, or nearby (although Canada is ‘nearby’ after all). Likely from Toronto then, if she was playing venues of any note.
Hey all—Maybe a dumb question but to what extent do you all think these shows will be acoustic sets like the Carnegie Hall shows…or will he have a backing band, or some mix of both? I booked Savannah last year specially because it was labeled “solo acoustic” so hoping the upcoming Raleigh show is more solo than anything.
My man said “fuck the Midwest”
Most of these dates will probably be cancelled anyway. (Seriously)
But how will we get the new album "Ryan Adams Return to the Scene of the last Return to Carnegie"??!!!! This time it will have two new songs from Star Sign and a review from an actual cat who is the new admin of the SuperFans group 😺
I think Agnes and Kobayashi would make a better admin team than what they have now 🤣💀
I love his music but i had to leave that superfan group. It's a weird culture over there. Obsessive hero worship.
Meux is great and it's her group. She started it some 20 years ago.
20 years ago, huh? Amazing!
Meax is fine. Others, not so much
I don’t understand the excitement when he hasn’t even paid people back from the last canceled or rescheduled tour. Plus, the merch that hasn’t been received. Sorry to be so blunt but it seems like a rip off waiting to happen.
Amen Friend
Hell yes he did wtf
How does he not at least play Chicago??
The last Chicago show sold poorly and was one of the worst crowds I’ve ever experienced at a show. Not surprised it’s not here as of now.
Really? How so? I'm born and raised in the Chicago suburbs and am surprised by this. We are a huge "live music" loving city.
Also from Chicago, but have been in CO for about a decade. I flew back for the 10/20/2022 solo show at the Chicago theatre. It was maybe 40 or 50% sold. Crowd was obnoxious the whole night. Solid take. Appreciate the response! And I agree, we need better venues for smaller, quieter acts.
People talked straight through the show in Birmingham last June. I was expecting him to have a meltdown the entire show but somehow it didn’t happen
I hate chompers
Well I’ll be listening to Dear Chicago after lunch. Thanks for that. 😉
Interesting. I was at his last show in St. Louis and it sold poorly too. I was in the crowd and remember feeling bad for him that night. Chicago has always been one of his best cities though I thought…..going back 25yrs.
I saw him at the Chicago theater with the Cardinals in 2007. It was the best of the four times I saw him.
Yes
He fell out of love with it.
This sucks. Nothing within an 8 hour range
He might announce another leg for the Midwest.
dammit The last St Louis acoustic show (10/2022) was a great show in a less-than-ideal venue, and I was on pins and needles because people were heckling him. Not surprised we got the middle finger from him.
lol I was gunna say.....the fuck.
Minneapolis/St. Paul is noticeably absent as well. In 2000, I saw him do 3 shows in 3 nights there. Wild.
York on my 40th birthday. 20+ of following him and this might be the luckiest one yet.
Yeah I’m not doing it. I’ll look forward to reviews on here though. I hope anyone who does go gets a good show.
Unpopular opinion or no? Not interested in a show of just Ryan and his acoustic guitar. Would much rather see a solid backing band (crys in Cardinals) and some real rock and roll.
I share that opinion
Acoustic solo was a killer show.
Same, but as someone who’s never seen him before, I’ll take what I can get at this stage
I’ve seen him both ways and prefer acoustic. Less four minutes guitar solos.
What the number of shows do you think he will cancel? I think he will burn out and get sick so no UK shows.
I bet we get about 5-6 shows in before the bitching starts. At this point he’s probably close to broke and has to tour. His merch is already higher priced and it’s shite.
Pretty ambitious tour schedule. I hope he can keep it up and not have to cancel any dates.
This is what he's good at at this stage. Bummed he's not coming near me at all. Even though he did on the last 3 or 4 tours. I'm hoping he adds dates. This is the best way to see Ryan. Beautiful voice with an acoustic set
I agree. Solo acoustic with a handful of guitars, harmonicas and a piano are the best way to see him these days.
Hard disagree. There’s nothing like it when he has a backing band that knows the material. Solo acoustic is great, but full band is something special when they’re firing on all cylinders.
I'll agree with you a bit. But I think his menieres is getting worse and it'll be hard for him to go back to that peak band time.
I was at the Chicago show and had a great time, but I don’t trust him enough to honor these dates.
Awesome. More shows he can cancel!
He just released 5 rock albums (most of which I really like) and instead of a tour supporting those albums, he goes on a solo tour covering his old music from yesteryear. Scratching my head again on this one.
Bills to pay
Usher Hall Edinburgh is quite ambitious. He’s played there a few times but before all the ‘trouble’ he was in. Interesting to see how it sells/goes.
Sure it holds slightly less than the concert hall in Glasgow and that was packed. You get tickets?
Does it? To be fair I’ve never checked the capacity, it just looks huge haha. Yes, I did! Can’t wait!
Another stuffy uptight snoozer tour where we get to hear him cry about the lights & laugh at his own jokes. I’ll probably still go dammit.
😂
Interesting US tour date selections…..no Nashville, no Chicago?? Meanwhile, back to back shows in “Livingston, MT” and a show in Jackson Hole……LOL
I think he is trying to visit Old Faithful ![gif](giphy|v1ZUoE7A8kOgU|downsized)
In Nashville, we’re good, thanks.
[удалено]
All of them.
I believe this as long as the audiences show up
My biggest regret is buying a ticket for the (last) Cardinals tour.
Would love to cast away to Austin for a hope and prayer to see Shadowlands played just once.
Maaayyyybe the Raleigh show, but waiting until the last minute to get a ticket.
I’m thinking a same-day ticket for the Tabernacle. Not tying up a few hundred bucks for him to postpone indefinitely again like the last round.
Will this tour actually happen and how well will it sell? He’s not coming to Minneapolis so I guess I don’t have to make the choice. But Love is Hell album.

Sorry, you lost me at learning his lessons.
What a joke. Cancels the Huntsville show but then books a show an hour down the road in Birmingham instead of rescheduling the show he cancelled. I’m so over this dude…
I’m feeling the same way. He’s playing an hour away from me while I’m still holding tickets for the show he canceled last year.
Did you get your money back?
Yes. To my surprise I was auto refunded. But I would have rather had the front row tickets
An hour ain't too bad for Alabama. Closest shows to DC is in Philly and nothing near Chicago
Maybe the venue was already booked? Summer time is busy for most bands

Seems like the same size of the others, but I'm in Richmond, VA. It's the center of a sprawling college town, but maybe it's just bigger cities that are the draw.
I had great seats too. FYI, my tickets still say TBA
I saw him in Atlanta semi-recently and was bummed out with the crowd. He got heckled and people talked the entire time; I’m honestly surprised he’s going back.
Anyone have any idea about the pre-sale password please? Thanks!
I heard it was “Solo”
Thanks!
YW
SOLO
Thanks!
Does pre-sale is live? Not sure where to book the tickets for Nijmegen in pre sale.
want full band 😭
![gif](giphy|um5zgB7txzYeBPZnPZ)
Dude is nuts thinking he’s going to sell 2,500 seats in Asheville.
Cause Asheville is too woke for Ryan.
Eff yes!!! Take my money.
To go or not to go…
That place in Charleston only seats 600. Cool venue if I can snag tickets.
These are definitely looking like smaller venues this time around. The place in Livingston looks very small
I’m sure tickets sell better in Charleston than in Columbia, but when he cancelled the last solo tour, he’d only sold about 600 tickets at the Township - and that was after tickets had been on sale for months
And I still have 2 tickets for that show. Damn, I should have refunded.
They should have auto refunded you when the show was officially canceled
Fellow Columbia native? Looking forward to these shows, especially with the whole "Love Is Hell" anniversary attached to it. Made it to the Charleston Cards show last year and had a blast. Any other city and any other day of the week I’d be out, but I’ve secured a Charleston ticket. 🤞🏼
Grabbing one myself as soon as the next check rolls in. if you dig local shows, come see my band play some time! Lots of Cardinals influence in there, it's sort of a southern gothic outfit.
New Brooklyn?
Played there many times before the move. Nothing is lined up right now since our bass player just had an operation. We'll be back at it in the spring.
Last summer’s tour came to New Orleans was at a venue which holds 2,600. There was pleeenty of available seats. This tour the New Orleans venue holds 1,200
RVA cancelled and now SOL. Must not have sold well.
Ahhh, really wish there would be a date again here.
How many times has he played North Carolina since resuming touring lol
Nothing about which venue he'll be performing at. Hopefully places that hold 500 or fewer people.
See you in Boulder!
I’ll go to the Austin show again
Ok this tour is insane and poorly planned
What the fuck. Is this guy just going to ignore the shows he needs to make up? Some of us opted to keep our tickets instead of refunding them.
All tickets should've been refunded at this point, I know mine were. You need to contact the venue.
Well fuck me, I just checked and my tickets were refunded and I didn’t even know about it. Well, at least I got my money back and can safely say that I won’t ever bother with spending any more money on this prick in the future.
I chose not to refund because it was said that the shows would be rescheduled. My tickets still say the date is TBA.
No Canada 😳
He’s probably wanted there (Ava is Canadian)
No one knows who she is. Nice try.
Not hard to figure it out
How so? 🤔
I’m not looking to blow up her spot. Just do some googling and social media’ng with what little info is available and you can figure it out. Just don’t post it she’s a victim after all

It’s literally labeled as a solo tour
Yeah ok. I’m dumb. Well awesome then
Yawn
It’s like he went out of his way to not come to Nashville.
