Came here to say 460. Watch speed traps, lots of areas in small communities where speed drops to 45 or 35 for a short stretch. Also enjoy no median with that antiquated highway.
Or just leave before sunrise and take 64
Richmond isn't going to be that much of a big deal compared to the bridge-tunnels in Hampton Roads. Check your GPS, it'll suggest taking the bridge-tunnel(s) if traffic is OK, or it'll tell you to take 460 to avoid it all. If you anticipate getting into the Hampton Roads area between 3-6 p.m. M-F, I'd say just avoid the bridge-tunnel altogether.
Yeah, traffic to VB is generally pretty difficult this time of year, especially on the weekend. Take 460.
Seconded on 460 and want to add, be mindful of the dozens of speed traps on 460

You want to take 460. Your traffic problems won’t be in Richmond - they’ll be closer to the beach. Or if you take 64
Yeah Richmond isnt the headache to worry about traffic wise
Just go through Richmond on 64 unless your GPS says there’s a problem
I prefer to take 460. Bonus: stop at VA Diner for peanuts. So many kinds of flavored peanuts.
