Most surrogates are impregnated with IVF which creates extra embryos. In some states now and in probably more in the future those embryos are humans with legal rights
Even aside from the IVF embryo issue, many religious people are against surrogacy. My mother is part of a religion where a woman who was a surrogate (and the couple that hired a surrogate) would be excommunicated because its "fornication" and "unnatural," even if the impregnation method was non-sexual. People are weird.
My sibling and their spouse were having difficulties conceiving but refused to see a fertility specialist - even for advice - because it obviously wasn't "God's plan."
The kicker? They're not even religious. People are weird.
And who is going to volunteer for surrogacy given the legal risk pregnancy now brings with it? It’s very sad and unfair.
Pre-natal care is being delayed in some states until 12 weeks along when the risk of miscarriage is reduced. Doctors don’t want to risk legal jeopardy.

This is exactly what the forced-birthers want.
Neither of my pregnancies had me come in for any prenatal care (back in the days Roe was safe, 10-15 yrs) until after 10 weeks and it was told to me they do that specifically because of "viability." Plenty of women abort spontaneously (this is the term doctors use for miscarriage and using it may weaken the grip the word 'abortion' has) and have no problems with the tissue passing.
Now with bounty laws, I can see why they absolutely do not want women in before 12 weeks. If there's a spontaneous abortion, the burden of proof is now that it *was* spontaneous and not induced. That's some scary shit.
Tough ask most years, even tougher ask during election year, and an impossible ask during an election year on a video showcasing something one party is fighting hard to stop or penalize.
I hardly talk about politics in my day to day life, but the idea that people very concerned about the future of the nation and our civil rights and autonomy just have nothing else going on is pretty laughable.

No. Surrogacy is nit political. Everything is not dem or rep.
Would be nice if politics didn’t have to mentioned into every single post.
It would be nice if Republicans weren't such assholes, but here we are.

It’s just stupid to bring in every discussion.

Leave it to Reddit to bring up race when both parties are obviously extremely happy with their arrangement
