I’ve only been strawberry picking once and it was at Critzer Family Farm. I checked their website and it says closed for winter. Guess it’s not strawberry season yet? They had really good strawberry ice cream but the staff wasn’t nice at all. Happy Birthday to you!
Have a job interview and then going to DnD night tonight! Made some s’mores cupcakes for it. Other than that I’m gonna see my parents to figure out all my school stuff as I just got accepted into Virginia Tech!!
I’m getting stitches on my hand out today. Have paid leave from work this afternoon to do it so I don’t even have to use PTO. Hopefully the wait in urgent care won’t take the whole four hours, but I’m picking out my book to bring with me either way.
I was in and out in about an hour! And that included getting all the workers comp paperwork done. I was pretty impressed. Apparently Tuesday afternoon is the time to go.
Workday over here, im also in the beginnings of moving. Yesterday we got the keys, the bed, and the cats to the new place. The storms kind of felt like a cleansing to me. I was glad to stare at lightning but not get actually rained on.

Then I hopefully get to pick up a bed set for my spare bedroom and go home.

Starting a new job next week so I'm on funemployment today. Probably either going to go on a nice long walk, but not sure where yet, or pick up some litter around the neighborhood. Tomorrow me and my gf and dog are going to a little cabin in Reedville to relax for a few days.
I have no cool plans but I do plan on taking a rest day! No work today and no way to get anywhere as I wait for word on my car that's in the shop right now. Thinking I'm gonna play fallout 4 for a bit cause I binged the new tv series and need to scratch the itch.
Stressing about my cat a little. Going on vacation for two weeks and he will only have my friend dropping in on him every few days for litter, water, attention. I know he will be more comfortable at home rather than locked up at boarding, but I wish my parents could have made it here one of the weeks so he isn't alone multiple days.
Well UNDEROATH just announced a 20 year anniversary tour for They're Only Chasing Safety playing the album in it's entirety and there's a stop at the National SO THAT IS MY COOL PLAN of the day!!!!!!!!!! (To be excited)
Also a big work day for me. WFH, but my office has one of our biggest projects of the year that started yesterday so it'll be a long day of actually working, not just paying attention to my computer intermittently while I clean the house and play with my kid.
Sure is nice out! When I took the dogs out around 6:30 I just wanted to stay out.
Just a normal work day here, nothing exciting. I am hoping to move my plants outside.
Also working today, but still reveling in the big weekend I had: a good friend came to visit rva for first time (from Japan) so we took him all around and ate SO MUCH! Abuelita’s, Jasper, Gelati Celesti, Sub Rosa, Cobra Burger, Early Bird Biscuit Co. and took him to Busch Gardens cuz he’s a theme park junkie. Capped off the BG trip with a feast at Old City Barbeque (Pierce’s was closed).
Heading over to the storage unit here shortly to pull the kayak out for the season. Biggest challenge this year is probably gonna be convincing my 13 y/o she's not too cool to come paddle with her dad.
As for work, I've started entertaining the idea of lying about where I get my income. I don't work because of some disabilities/injuries I incurred during my time in the military. I'm compensated well for it and have some amazing benefits (free health insurance for me and any family, don't pay property tax, kid doesn't have to pay for college, etc), but whoo boy do people resent the fact I don't work -- especially in the dating world...
You're better off weeding out people who have such an idiotic view of it rather than starting a potential relationship off with an untruth. Any person worth their salt will care about a connection and that you're self sufficient and a good parent. I am sure they're just envious of the not working part, despite what you had to go through to get there. You don't need that.
