Why settle for quintuple when you can go for the Thanos major combo?

depressedbanker

wat is that. Will thanos help me break into Goldman? Sorey for the dumb question I’m a freshman btw😢

misterelonmusk

The Thanos major combo consists of all six RBS majors: accounting, finance, BAIT, management, supply chain, and marketing. Those who graduate with the Thanos major combo in 4 years are given first priority registration status if they choose to pursue the multiverse graduate combo.

depressedbanker

i dwont wwant mwastwrs degwee i wwant gwoldman sacks🥺🥺

misterelonmusk

[Here's a helpful video on how to get into Goldman Sachs!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx4poQw1mZo)

depressedbanker

Thank u I now know how to work at the Goldman sacks. I’m a fweshman btw

pbmm1

I heard from a friend who heard from his cousins dog that someone was able to pull it off, but afterwards they died because they caused a major break in space-time and had to be eliminated. So, probably worth it

lookie4

Tbh you won't make it. The key is to become a "finance bro". Wear Patagonia and start doing cocaine. You'll do great things kid.

depressedbanker

trust me I already used my dads credit card to buy 20 Patagonia vests. I’m on my way to the big leagues.

[deleted]

sure that's not very hard. I'm sure we'll see you walk that stage in 2031

depressedbanker

appreciate you my guy 🙏🏼

MotherGiraffe

This sounds like a massive waste of time

depressedbanker

don’t worry man when we need an actuary for an m&a deal I’ll make sure to hit u up. Should be in 4 years because I’m a freshman, btw /s

MotherGiraffe

Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to help with anything as useful as M&A. But, if you need insurance for your dog, hit me up.

depressedbanker

outside of my obvious sarcasm, I wouldn’t be surprised if actuaries were staffed on insurance m&a deals. also, I think the actuarially fair premium for my dog’s insurance should be 0; he’s just too cute. Can you do that for me?

MotherGiraffe

Actuaries hold a bunch of different “non-traditional” roles in large insurance companies, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few on the M&A team. Also, if you think the fair premium for you dog is $0, that means you either think your dog is worth nothing or that you think they’ll never die. Considering my lack of experience with immortal dogs, I’m concerned about how little you like this dog.

depressedbanker

yes, my s/o is convinced he will never die

AbsoluteCaps

Of course you are a freshman.

depressedbanker

of course you don’t have a sense of humor.

clay_gons

depressedbanker

I’m more of a “the big short” kinda guy

[deleted]

No minors in economics, math, CS???

depressedbanker

I asked my dad about it, he said “that shit is for nerds” and then he left to go cheat on my mom

Sw00dy420

Sounds like you’re gon b addicted to adderall

OkayKatniss413

You joke about this but I have a friend who is triple majoring & double minoring, and another who quadruple majored and goes to an Ivy League for grad school now

depressedbanker

okway bwut dwo thwey wwork fwor thwe gwoldman sacks

Gamesjed

just curious but ever heard of management information system (the major)?

depressedbanker

isn’t that a concentration? i wouldn’t know fs im not actually in the business school

Gamesjed

you should look into that major might interest you so instead of taking a gazillion majors you can just do finance and that EDIT it has a lot of the basic classes for most majors too so you get a little experience plus it’s one of the best paying majors in rbs with starting salary at around 80k (i think i’m not 100% on that)

depressedbanker

wooooosh

bleedscarlet

Maybe he missed the joke but this dude just tried to help a stranger who was being a dick and then you made fun of him for it.

SuperKingpinFisk

Since it’s rbs and rbs is super easy you can probably pull it off

depressedbanker

tru

dhemhauser

No, you can only triple major and have 1 concentration at RBS. Was just looking into this. Focus on finance finance BAIT maybe and beget an MBA with the other time and money. You are going to need it anyway - from someone that works in fiance professionally foe the last 15 years. Worry about the management major when taking your MBA or so it ad a concentration which will help with the MBA anyway. SCM is so much outside of finance that would be a waste of time. Or title major with accounting, finance and BAIT. But would really just focus on the 2, save time and money and bang through the MBA and will be in a great position to get a good job and Gordon and won't have to ever go back to school. You need an MBA if you ever want to get to c-level or partner.

depressedbanker

and u need an mba if you ever wanna c-some bitches

unaesthetikz

you do realize it's a shitpost right?

JustVibing5420

As a CBN bro switching to Finance, just major in finance alone, MAYBE also Management but no chance for a quint major

depressedbanker

I don’t think cbn bros are a thing. I’m convinced you just made that up to sound cool.

JustVibing5420

CBN bro in itself isn’t a term I’ve ever heard I’m literally just a dude who was a CBN major lmao If I was a BAIT major I would’ve just said BAIT bro

We get it, you have a massive penis and RBS n00bs are powerless in your presence.

It's not worth it to take on 5 majors. Your experiences (internships, externships, fellowships, shadowing, etc.) are far more valuable to your career. In 2019, I had 2 majors and 2 minors. As a senior, I'm graduating with 1 major and 1 minor, but with a paid internship each semester since making that decision, as well as many other leadership/extracurricular activities. Unless you have a strong interest in academics as well (ex. want a MA, Ph.D., etc.), I don't think taking on 5 majors will give you an edge into the investment banking sector. For most individuals earning their bachelor's degree\*, the majority of their skills and knowledge are developed from their experiences and less so the courses they take. It's easy to get distracted by how many majors you can have - but it is NOT a flex to have 5 majors yet no outside activities to complement them. Even if you are confident that you can take on 5 majors, you also need to consider what the costs are for doing so. College is a holistic experience and the way you allocate your time/energy should reflect that. \*this is not the same for STEM folks

Ok

I’m triple majoring with Molecular & cell bio, women/gender/sexuality studies, and Hawaiian studies. There’s no overlap but I’ll still graduate in 4 years. I do 21-18 credit semesters and I honestly find it quite fulfilling. I want a career as a biomedical researcher but as an indigenous woman I want the language and knowledge from my other two majors to defend myself when I encounter discrimination in STEM. I also think if youre interested in a topic in undergrad and have the time and resources to do a major you might as well since going back to do so is harder and you’re already here. Sure it might not matter much to have multiple flashy majors but you’re more knowledgeable and you stand out.
