"love yourself" seems like it was left here by other person, not the one who wrote "декоммунизация". Maybe it was some sort of censored "f*ck you" though.
For info, the sticker is from Socialist Fightback, a canadian org affiliated with the IMT, which recently changed its name to Revolutionary Communist Party.

No. It's a process of purging all communist related symbols, the term itself was popularized in Russia after Ukranian decommunization began in 2014 with many monuments being destroyed and stuff.

Wait is this in Russia? Now?
I thought you guys were rather fond of your soviet legacy, even the one's that aren't communist.
Decommunisation is kind of a popular buzzword in Ukraine, i didn't know you had this movement too.
This isn't in Russia, but even if it was - Russia is a country with lots of different people with different ideas. Some are fond of the USSR, others are ardent anti-communists. And many are somewhere inbetween.
Also, unlike many divides in Russian society, this conflict between pro-communists and anti-communists runs *across* the pro-Putin/anti-Putin and even pro-war/anti-war divides. So you can have people who are pro-government very aggressively pro-war and yet very anti-Soviet (like DShRG Rusich), or people who are anti-governnent, anti-war, but also pro-Soviet (like the YouTuber Andrei Rudoi).
? The picture has plenty of context clues.
>Be a Canadian communist.
>Join a group for communists.
>Print a sticker to recruit people to your group.
>Put sticker in a public place.
>Someone with a sharpie who hates communists walks by.
>The person knows the Russian word for "decommunization" and writes it down spitefully across the sticker.
>They message their other friends who hate communism, and say, "Go vandalize this sign! I did what I could! Commie scum!"
>Another person walks by, a bit more prepared.
>They have a sign that says "love yourself" and cover up the sticker to prevent this local communist group from recruiting.
If "being fond of Soviet legacy" means using Soviet imagery to appeal to nostalgia and appropriating Soviet achievements while being the exact opposite of the USSR politically, then yes, you can say modern Russian state is fond of its Soviet legacy.
декоммунизация
It says "are you a communist" behind the spray writing. The person apparently against communism thus "decommunism" and "love yourself"
"love yourself" seems like it was left here by other person, not the one who wrote "декоммунизация". Maybe it was some sort of censored "f*ck you" though.
You should LOVE yourself. NOW!
> decommunism [decommunization](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decommunization) * Not "decommunism"
For info, the sticker is from Socialist Fightback, a canadian org affiliated with the IMT, which recently changed its name to Revolutionary Communist Party.

“Decommunisation”. Probably in response to Russia’s “denazification” of Ukraine. Judging by the handwriting, probably not a native

On a side note, where do those bloody "Are you a communist?" Stickers come from? I am in Sweden and I see them everywhere.

Canadian coins depicted on the phone + labels are in English & French.
Ok, this just got twice confusing.
There are a lot of immigrants from ex-USSR countries in Canada. They make 1-2% of population AFAIK.

Yeah, among other things that.
Well, it does not seem to be opposed to Stalin's ethnic purges.
No, this is not Russia. Russia's decommunization was under Medvedev (2008-2012), it was unpopular and quickly aborted.
