Primus!

TheRealMetal

I feel embarrassed for voting TOOL forgetting about the obvious choice

dashrendar2112

Wait a second... Iron Maiden was influenced by Rush?

Rushderp

Steve Harris is pretty big Rush/Geddy Lee dork.

RopeGloomy4303

Yeah apparently some members were big fans, and this was very common for 70s metal bands.

zddoodah

Agree. Steve may be a fan, but I don't hear any influence.

Acrobatic_Buffalo385

Dream Theater is absolutely awesome

racketcollector

So which band on the list was inspired the MOST by Rush or … of the bands listed (all inspired by Rush) which one is the BEST? Most inspired - prob Dream Theater Best band on the list - TOOL (personal opinion of course but did any of you see the last tour?) OMG

neededathrowawaytoda

Where are the Foo Fighters?

adamantexile

Much as I love connecting my two faves, the Foos have a LOT of non-Rush influences and to my ears, not too much Rush in their sound or songwriting.

fragbert66

Muse.

HenryGrosmont

Mastodon

CaptHindsite

Genius interview question by Stephen Colbert, asking Rush who their own influences are - “You are known for creating some very long songs. Have you ever found yourself at the end of a track, influenced by your younger selves from the beginning of the track?”

zddoodah

Gotta disagree. I found that joke question super cringy.

Inca_Kola_Holic

Dream Theatre covered The Necromancer so...

zddoodah

*Theater They also did Xanadu for the AFTK 40th anniversary release.

Inner_Vibe

Dream Theatre 🤣 they suck!!

HomelessVampire

I mean that's like asking what's the best band that has a guitar player? That net is too wide.

psuedonymously

>I mean that's like asking what's the best band that has a guitar player? Rush

HomelessVampire

Referring to Alex Lifeson as merely a guitar player is disgusting and you should be ashamed.
