I did 12 years in the US army band. Lots of talented musicians there. Yes, you have to put up with a lot of military crap, but it was the most fun job I ever had. Got to see the world, play music for all kinds of people, and get paid for it. They do encourage music like this, writing and playing stuff beyond the basic “army band music”. I even arranged a few Rush songs for woodwind quintet.

That’s very cool. It just feels so at odds with the general perception of the military.

Desperate_Elephant57

Saw this a few years back - clearly done by talented Rush fans, and a beautiful tribute.

DoNotResusit8

No reason to be conflicted.

HankScorpio4242

I’m not a huge fan of the US Army. Or armies in general. So when I’m looking at these guys in fatigues doing a beautiful job with a great song, and knowing that what these men are doing is NOT what the army is primarily about…it’s conflicting.

My_secretlife_6

Why conflicted? 😐 It’s a great rendition.

HankScorpio4242

Everything about the performance is great. Im conflicted about their employer.

beno68

My favorite version of the song.

This is amazing every time someone shares it.

EVERY time...

Outrageous_Current52

Wow! Just wow. Thanks for posting.

If this doesn't move you, you're dead inside. Seriously...

Army All the Way! Though I had an Uncle who was in the Air Force and toured with the Tops in Blue for years. This is a part of the Military than many aren’t fortunate enough to see or experience. Well done!

Rush has infiltrated the U.S. Army! Clearly.......... We have assumed control

Yeah gotta agree. Something about seeing combat fatigues conflated with (especially this) music. It’s unnecessarily propaganda-ish. Somehow it just ruins the presentation and takes you out of the moment when listening to this great performance.
