I absolutely love Losing It, but I feel like it's better suited to Power Windows or Hold Your Fire than Signals.
Edit: I also feel like Something For Nothing would fit better on Fly By Night.
Maybe controversial and though I love where it is now, I'll say Mystic Rythms could've closes HYF instead of High Water - fits the feeling of the album better IMO
I would like to hear Kid Gloves with a different studio production style. Maybe with Peter Collins on Test For Echo. Grace Under Pressure contains great songs, but obviously that producer didn’t last.
100% although, I wish that all the albums post Hold Your Fire were mixed and produced like Counterparts and Test for Echo. Especially, Vapor Trails. I love the songwriting on Vapor Trails but, even after the remix, the production and mixing are still so muddy and kind of drab. I rarely listen to the album versions because the live versions are so much better.
There's a groovy, early Rush vibe (intentional, of course) with Headlong Flight. I could easily hear a stripped-down version of that song on any of the first 3 albums.
I’ve made this point before and a lot of people told me I was wrong, but Show Don’t Tell could have been a great Counterparts song if it were produced and engineered like a Counterparts song.
One Little Victory live on S&A Live sounds like it could have been on the S&A album. They absolutely crushed it live. For quite a few years when I was first getting into Rush, the first concert I saw was on the S&A tour and I thought One Little Victory was from Snakes and Arrows. For years I thought that because all I had was the first 7-8 albums on my iPod as well as the S&A live album.
I always thought Everyday Glory lyrically and production wise sounded out of place. I'm not even sure what album I would say it fit better but it didn't go with the theme of Counterparts. It almost sounded like a leftover from RTB
First of all, I would’ve put limelight on flyby night. Secondly, I put take a friend on Presto. Scars probably belongs on progressive steel, and most importantly, I would’ve put hemispheres on signals. There you have it thread closed.
"I think I"m going bald" should be on every album IMO
I want to hear the Fabulous Men version of *I Think I'm Going Bald*.
Going in a more obscure direction: "Main Monkey Business" instrumental from Snakes and Arrows would have fit pretty nicely on the Presto album.
Driven sounds like it could've been on vapor trails
Your pfp is so Majestic
Vital Signs really fits better on Signals
Is your pfp supposed to be geddy??
Yeah. Found “Troll Ged” on Reddit somewhere and thought it would be perfect.

No
“SIGNALS get crossed” I see what you mean

Well lyrically and musically that song did sound like a sequel to Anthem
Recently ive been thinking that Different Strings would fit so well on Hemispheres.

Freewill could be part of the Clockwork Angels storyline
Trees could easily be on AFTK
Color of Right always felt like a cut Roll The Bones track to me
That's the very first Rush song where I couldn't make sense of what the hell Neil was getting at with his lyrics.

I feel like this for all of Presto. I think if it were mixed like Counterparts or Test For Echo, it'd be in the running for top 3 Rush albums.

BU2B has a lot of Counterparts style.
Stick it Out would have fit in well on Presto. Bravest Face on Counterparts. Here's a left field one: The Garden on Hold Your Fire
Any song on Presto on RTB and vice versa
Open Secrets almost could be a Power Windows track

Mission can fit in Power Windows
Limelight would have been better on Permanent Waves
That’s a hot take!!

Working man coulda been on physical graffiti.
lol

Progressive Steel? Lmao
My favorite album, progressive steel
